For a place with the "original" chicken wing, I admit I was a bit discouraged. Surprised at how we were treated as a customer. We were the waitresses last party of the day, she made that known right away. We all ordered. It took 20 minutes to get drinks to the table. We actually had our appetizer before we got our drinks (sodas, nothing from the bar)! It took another 45 minutes to get our orders. We got a variety of wings, burger and a salad. The salad had field greens mentioned in the description and there was no actual leaf of lettuce or spinach. It had only arugula and some purple veg (sorry, I do not know the name of this green) that was as bitter as the arugula. The wings were just okay. The sauce had no pop. The dipping sauce was prepackaged in little containers with the foil peel off lids, not store made as most wing places do. We did have a certain expectation when you go to the original store. This was a disappointment. Having a server that seemed to be upset because she was sat another table and she seemed put off to serving us. No refills on drinks were offered till we asked for them. The other food was tasty, the bread to the meatball sub was very soggy, the tenders were okay, juicy, but not anything I would not get at a fast food place. We always tip over 18%. We did not here because, at the waitresses descretion she put on the large party tip (table of 8) and we did not add any tip as we normally would have due to the lack of service, not the food. Will probably not return.

Ate at this restaurant for the first time last night and it will definitely be the last. We had to wait for almost 45 mknites (which we were expecting) before getting seated. The issues all came after we got seated. The waitress was flighty from the beginning. We waited a LONG time to have our order taken, a LONG time for our food to come, a LONG time to ask for refills, a long time to ask for our check, and an even LONGER time to have our cards returned. When our food finally arrived (way after other people who sat down after us),Our sides were not correct on 2 meals. We were missing sauces and were given the wrong things on 2 other orders. I ordered the chicken tenders with coleslaw. The coleslaw was so spicy that I couldn't eat it. The tenders were way over cooked and looked very unappealing. My mom ordered a cheeseburger and fries. Her fries were way undercooked and her burger had almost no flavor. In addition? She ordered the 5 additional wings. The waitress first forgot the sauce, then brought the wrong sauce. There were things wrong with my aunt and uncle's meals as well. Ther server made us feel like an inconvenience. Never asked for refills and at $5 a glass, that is crazy! Make it easy on yourself and pick a different restaurant.

This rating is based on the food and experience. The food is overprice . I ordered wings that were 16.99 for 10 only one flavor allowed and does not come with fries . The flavor was tasteless. Might as well boiled the chicken and added sauce .From me being stressed i go to the bar to order a drink , she declines me and tells me to ask my server . I ordered a double of tequila from my server . She gave me a single and failed to mention the bottle ran out . Then as I go to drink it there is 2 flies in the bottom of the glass . I took a picture and told the server about the flies she said it’s an old bottle that sits open. They bring me another drink this time it was a double . Then i order my child 9.99 Mac and cheese that could only be ordered as a meal and not as a side . You would not believe the dry Kraft box Mac and cheese they brought to the table . Overall horrible experience.

My wife and I came here as part of our anniversary trip to the falls. We wanted to try the original buffalo wings and saw they offered buffalo chicken pizza as well. We normally pick buffalo chicken pizza at other pizza chains as our go to choice of pizza. When we tasted the buffalo chicken pizza here, we were blown away. Buffalo chicken pizza from any other restaurants are now ruined for us. This was hands down the best I've ever had! The wings were amazing too! If you're a fan of buffalo chicken pizza like my wife and I, you NEED to try Achor Bar's. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed. Our server was very nice and made sure we were taken care of. The air conditioning was very cold. We will definitely be coming back!

Buffalo Wings. If you are in the Niagara Falls area then enter this restaurant. One of the busiest places in the Niagara Falls area for those who want to eat local style wings. The dishes are very large, the service is courteous but very very slow (we waited 30 minutes until the dish arrived). The price is most reasonable for the dishes served.🇺🇸

I wanted to go the original Anchor Bar, but we were too wiped out from hanging out at the Falls. The wings were very good, but nothing I haven't had at many other places, but very work ordering. We also ordered a pizza that was very good...super filling. I'd go back. Great beer.

I like wings but not the bones and so many places think chicken tenders in sauce are boneless wings. I was happy to see this was not the case here! Boneless wings were quality chicken breast cut (somewhat irregularly, which tells me probably in house), with a light breading and cooked to perfection. They were great! Hubby said the bone in wings were even better, so it was a win all around! Hubby had the fried pickles, which he said were really good and I had the pizza logs which were only okay. The sauce was good and they were cooked properly but didn't have enough pepperoni. The entry was pure chaos (although that may have been the large party ahead of us now than the organization of the restaurant) any it took forever for our server to get to us (because of the chaos, not her fault) but once we had her attention Lynnsi was fantastic. She clearly had too many tables to keep up with but she was running her legs off trying, and always with a smile on her face. At nearly $100 for the 2 of us for lunch it was more than a little pricey so unfortunately we probably won't be back, but I'm really glad we went and had a delicious lunch!

A good place near Falls! Had their Spicy garlic Parmesan wings. They were fine! I won’t say they were exceptionally good. Had loaded fried which I thought it will come with Warm Queso but it did not instead they put regular cheeses. Overall experience was fine.

Definitely lives up to its hype of serving the best chicken wings. The best thing about this place is they give all the flavors on the side.I loved the traditional and garlic parmesan flavor. The extreme hot and sweet bbq were good too. The French fries were really lip smacking. We ordered the Chicken wrap and definitely recommend it.Also do try their locally crafted beer.

We were excited about trying the Anchor Bar after seeing it on The Good That Built America. Though it's not the original place, we didn't mind. It was attached to our hotel which made it simple to get to after a long day. What we had was all delicious and filling! I got the boneless wings with mild sauce and wow! For me, they had a great kick to them and should have gotten more ranch. My husband had the Mac n Cheese and was stuffed after eating about 3/4 of it. Our server was ok. She was attentive to drinks and quickly got our order. Her personality was lackluster and we had the feeling we were taking up her time when we didn't ask for much at all. Hard to explain but as soon as we got the bill, we paid it and left. I still recommend going here. Everyone has their days. The food is worth it!

Not a fan of Buffalo sauce so got 10 Garlic Parmesan and 10 Lemon Pepper Wings. The quality of the Wings are great. Damian behind the Bar is the real reason I'm giving 5 stars. He held down the Bar for the time I was there and did a remarkable job....would recommend

The wings were fine. I know they don't claim to be the best, only the original, so I'm a bit torn on how to review. Let's just say I had other wings that were better while in Buffalo. The service was a bit slow, but she apologized many times and thanked us for being patient. They were busy and I'm assuming they were under-staffed.

We tried this location after trying the original restaurant to compare lol. This location is attached to the holiday inn scenic falls hotel in Niagara Falls. We stopped in for lunch but it seems the front desk was run a bit chaotic. We had about a 5 minute wait to be seated; despite the place being empty. Once seated we ordered wings (of course), the American burger and mozzarella sticks. The wings tasted very similar to the original location in Buffalo, NY; delicious and worth it. The burger was tasty and filling. My husband enjoyed the mozzarella sticks. This location is about $1-3 more than the original locations prices (I’m assuming because it is in a tourist area), it is family friendly and there is an arcade inside.

The food and service were good. It really wasn't that special. Everything was in the average category. It was a bit different then the large chain restaurants. The menu was somewhat disappointing. A larger selection would have been nice. The wings were way too expensive.

This rating is based solely on the wings, which is the only thing we ordered (and the only reason we went) besides a drink. With it being "the place that originated the Buffalo wing", even if it's a secondary location, I had high expectations. My friend had the medium while I had the hot. The sauce was super thin and runny and also very sparse. If you like saucy wings, order extra although most of it will just run on the plate. The hot sauce tasted like a basic Louisiana hot sauce. They were basic wings that I can get anywhere and didn't really impress me. Service was okay. If you're looking to eat good wings, try somewhere else.

Very very nice place and the breakfast awesome and massive plates, like two people can eat from the same plate. The attention of the waitress is very nice she even try to speak spanish just to make us feel more comfortable. Definitely a place to go and eat….

Awesome chicken wings and loaded fries as appetizer. We are 4 people so we ordered 2 orders of double traditional ($32.99 usd/ double) wherein you can choose 2 sauce flavors. One double has 20 pieces of big size chicken wings. We had the garlic parmesan, Caribbean jerk, mild and hot Buffalo style. All of them tasted great. Contrary to other reviews, we only waited for 15 minutes for our chicken, and it was freshly cooked. It's packed with people but service is fast. Price is affordable and staff are friendly. Great place to go if you are craving for ORIGINAL Buffalo wings.

We stopped for lunch. We sat down and it took a bit of a wait to get our drink orders. Then another wait for our food order. It took over an hour to get food. It wasn't that busy. The food was good. But we had kids with us that got restless waiting. We had the pizza and chicken wings because they are known for them. It was good.

As it claims to be the birthplace of Buffalo Wings it really lived up to the claim. We came all the way from Toronto to taste the authentic Buffalo wings. The location is really good, with a huge parking space just adjacent to the Anchor Bar. We saw some public transit outside the spot so it's well connected with public transit. The ambiance inside is spectacular. The interiors are decorated really well with all the number plates of the United States from each state . The giant screens with live games is simply a perfect fun getaway. We ordered the Authentic bone in buffalo wings with extremely high spice levels. It was spicy but not as much as we expected it to be as the spice was coming up mostly by the black pepper. The taste was good and we also ordered coke and ginger ale which was refillable at no cost. The staff was extremely friendly and approachable. I would highly recommend this place.

I ordered the fish and chips. It was a big single fish. I didn't like the taste. The side was coleslaw, it's too sweet, didn't like it either. Got a coffee with milk but it was served before I get the fish. It got cold quickly. Overall, I paid $25 and I left half of the food (I hate wasting food but I couldn't help myself).

We rode down with a bunch of friends in our riding club. Had a good time. The wings were excellent. We came down from Central PA, and would come again for wings. They were tasty and crispy! I would def get more than a dozen next time! We came in with a group of 11 and was seated quickly. Service was quick and good. Would definitely recommend!

Ordered the Wings with medium spiced BBQ sauce, fries and a drink. The wings were tough. BBQ sauce was fine. Fries were limpy and not fresh out. Atmosphere was nice and So was staff. Blue cheese dressing was also good. They forgot my salad but the took it off the bill. For being the birth place of Buffalo wings, I expected better quality wings. I would try again. Maybe it was just a fluke with my order.

Stopped here on our way to the light show at the Falls. It did not disappoint! The fried pickle spears are the best I've ever had. And the wings were perfectly crispy and delicious! Best wings I've had during my NY stay. The staff were also attentive.

This restaurant is inside the IHG hotel in Niagra falls where we stayed overnight. I ordered the spicy chicken wing soup thinking it was some sort of chicken noodle soup but I was wrong! It is like the cheese in their mac and cheese but a bit spicy. I am not really a fan of mac and cheese but I definitely finished the cup of soup and had some of my partnermac and cheese. I really do like their food. Very comforting and the mac and cheese is not dry as it says on the menu it is gooey. Very accessible in our hotel. They also do serve our breakfast included in out check-in. I highly recommend 👌 ☺️

We only had wings and beer. Wings were pretty good. But service was bad and the atmosphere wasn’t inviting to stay. Our host ignored us for a while and took forever to give us a table, even though many were available. Wings came out quick, beers took longer, and we never got our ranch.

We would like to try the original in the buffalo but since we just pass it by here we decided to just try it here. We eat here for brunch and ordered the chicken wings with buffalo rub, egg benedict and sunrise something. I love the wing! We ordered 10 piece at first then after it all we ordered some more. Our server with purple hair was very friendly and lovely. We had great time!

Service was great. Wings are superior to most places in New York State. Definitely lived up to the expectation of good wings. Would have loved to have tried the wings from the original Wings and Things back in the 1960’s to compare.

  • 1/5 Sean M. 1 year ago on Google
Such a let down. Was hyped up so much for the wings and we finally were passing through the area and had a chance to stop. Started with a very rude hostess. Followed up with some VERY subpar wings. We had 10 boneless and 20 traditional. The boneless were very over cooked and very small. Traditional were much better, but even a chain like Buffalo Wild Wings has better wings for much less! Not to mention pre packaged blue cheese and celery that appears to have been sitting around for days.

This place is a solid 5. Im from Pittsburgh where the wings are quite good so I expected them to be next level in Buffalo where they originated. Man does this place not disappoint. Ask for your wings well done and the sauces are to perfection. Unique flavor as well w a hint of smokiness. Great service too. Plus you can walk it off by seeing the falls nearby :)

The place has a special charm, we loved it. The interior reminds me of charming places in Europe. It was full when we arrived so half and hour waiting to be seated was required so booking a table in advance may be a smart thing to do. Food was great, especially the cheese pizza my kid had. Staff were quick and friendly. It is also connected to Holliday Inn Hotel and you can access it from inside the hotel.

Really a good experience. We ordered some wings (with the sauce on the side), mozzarella sticks, fried pickles, a cheese pizza, nachos with chicken dipp source (it was spicy by the way) and spaghetti. Everything was fine, the waiter was really nice. Waiting time was over 30 mins but this is normal because of the location plus it was a holiday weekend.
