We had a great experience here during our little getaway. Its in a fine dining setting and the service was also very good. The food was very creative in using alot of local ingredients with lots of flavour. Highly recommend if you looking for a nice date and will definitely return next time we come back to visit. Its located in the basement of a hotel so its a little strange when you enter building but once inside the atmosphere is quite romantic.

As with the AG hotel this used to be a favorite spot that we have frequented at least over 30 times over the years. While restaurants are struggling I hesitate to give one a poor review especially to a former glorious place but I feel that in this case it's deserved. The restaurant has shifted to a prix fixed menu which I have enjoyed at many top tier restaurant like jean george's in New York. You get an appetizer a main and a desert for $75 a person. Expect that anything you would like will have an extra sur charge on top with some options resulting in an extra $4 to $9 per selection. Our cocktails were good and tasty but unfortunately they were the highlight. Neither the octopus or salad were good. The octopus was prepared well but was spoiled by being placed on a bed of cold egg plant that was not tasty. The salads lacked flavour. The tenderloin which was previously a dish worth traveling for was merely adequate. Elements such as trimming the spinach and cooking it so it was no longer crunchy were missed. The mashed potatoes however were good. The deserts were overly sweet and not to our liking. The service which before was a stand out was lacking including waiting for water to be filled etc. Overall for the cost there are much better restaurants as can be see in my other reviews of Niagara restaurants. It leaves me wondering if the cost cutting seen in the hotel has made its way to the restaurant with the result being a poorer quality product.

A 10/10 experience. We came here for my wife's birthday and the staff made sure to add a candle to her dessert. The ambience is romantic and inviting, the different combination of tastes in each course, the lovely staff are helpful and charming, and the executive chef is a true gentleman. We accidentally got our main course before our appetizers, which wasn't a big deal to us but the executive chef was really embarrassed that he complimented the entire meal! Honestly did not need to do that but we left a generous tip for the staff. I will definitely come back and told friends and family already to eat here next time they are in Niagara.

What an amazing dinner we had! It is a bit of a challenge to find quality food on the strip, and we're happy to have the restaurant recommended. The server was knowledgeable and pleasant. We had a lovely Cab Franc wine from the region, which went well with all of our dishes.

Visited twice, both times were fantastic. One of the few actually nice restaurants in the strip area and doesn't rely simply on its location like similarily priced restaurants nearby. Our server Fallon was great. 10/10 experience.

This restaurant is attached to the Sterling Inn and offers prix fixed farm-to-table meals only on their menu. Overall the food was fantastic and service attentive. Our Server Emily was the best, noticing something was off about my experience and insisting on replacing my over-salted fries without me asking. She also took time to ask us about our evening plans and offered us great suggestions, such as fireworks over the falls which we did not know about. Foodwise, the Lamb shank we had was incredible. Tender, succulent and essentially fall of the bone. This was the best dish of the night by far. Other dishes were good too, carrying a complex layering of flavour due to the variety of farm fresh ingredients they used. The AAA beef flank however was a disappointment and am deducting a star for that. Very chewy. Could not cut it with the regular knife and had to ask for a steak knife. Still very difficult to slice and eat. Because I was staying at the Sterling Inn, I was given a voucher for a free glass of wine from 5-6pm. It was a nice touch right before my 6pm reso. I enjoyed my meal here and would like to come back in the future. Thanks for a wonderful night

We received a warm welcome from Fallon. She was the hostess, and our server for tonight. She is very knowledgeable about the food, and the process that goes behind it. I asked for her recommendation and chose everything she recommended. She explained each dish beautifully. I don't like the taste of liver, but Chef Varun's grandmother's liver pate recipe is sooo good! The accompaniments that came with it complimented the pate so well! The pate had a smooth texture and was not grainy like other pates. It also did not have that overwhelmingly liver aftertaste in my mouth. I also recommend the beef tenderloin, lamb with cous cous, and chocolate hazelnut cheesecake. Not only great service and hospitality from Fallon but from Chef Varun as well. He took the time to come to our table and talk to us. Overall great experience! Thank you so much!

My new husband and I came here as a part of our honeymoon. To say we were impressed would be an understatement. Stephan was fantastic and chose great wine pairings for each course. The octopus was the best my husband has had and he loves seafood. I got the bisque for appetizer which was a very farm to table experience. The steak was superb and all the accompaniments were amazing. It is a beautiful spot for anniversaries, special occasions, or just to get a great meal. We will be coming back!

We had a terrific anniversary dinner at AG last week. We ate there 6 years ado and the food has improved! Every part of the Prix Fixe meal was delicious and well executed! Appetizers of lobster bisque and beet salad with house smoked veal tongue. Entrees we’re braised Ontario lamb shank (Ontario has THE best lamb in the world!) and the entree was sausage stuffed saddle of rabbit wrapped in prosciutto. Both were amazing. The desserts and cocktails were also fantastic. As before, the service is impeccable and the room is intimate and has a glamorous private club atmosphere.

An incredible experience, well worth the money! We had a group of 9 and got a private room which was beautiful, not to mention the live music. The service was great with friendly staff and great bonuses, such as an amuse bouche before the meal and great bread for the table. The food was incredible, most of their food is straight from their very own farm. The appetizers in my opinion were the highlight of the night. The maple hot smoked salmon candy was easily the best, but followed closely by the heirloom tomato salad (it had incredible compressed watermelons). The entrees and deserts were quite good as well just not as amazing as the apps. Overall an incredible experience worth the roughly $150 total price tag.

The food was absolutely amazing here. The food was very fresh and flavorful. The staff were attentive and quick, and were eager to assist in any way. This restaurant is a gem in the area and a must-eat place for fine dining.

This was supposedly fine dining experience with 3 course meals. It’s located downstairs of a building with a cozy atmosphere with as many tables as it can fit Al close to each other. . It does give the fine dining feel, darkly lit and food are presented artistically in small portions and nothing special on taste. FINE dining. I left hungry. Bill for four was over $500. Will I do this again? no. End of story.

For an advertised 4-5 stars restaurant, the neighborhood is distressing and the location is worse as the restaurant is situated in the basement of a 2-3 stars hotel. The restaurant façade and entrance in real life and as shown on photos are depressing. The food is average and totally lacks refinement. There is no attention to details such as: 1) My wife ordered a steak which was served without any trimming and with a pile of darkly cooked french fries 2) the 3 courses meal costs $75 per person and the flan cake that is supposed to be part of the 3 courses meal is offered with a $5 extra. Furthermore, it doesn't taste like a real flan cake as it is too sweet and does taste completely different 3) when we tried to order cappuccinos, the waitress warned us that the restaurant doesn't have an expresso coffee machine but there is only an ordinary hotel coffee machine. We ended up ordering a regular coffee and it does taste like an ordinary coffee from an ordinary hotel coffee machine. In summary, this restaurant should be considered as a 2 stars restaurant and it should stop misleading people with its advertising.

I was very excited to give these guys another try. I initially went in there and had their tasting menu which was not impressive to say the least. Last night i stayed at the hotel and was offered a bistro package for two. We got the AG burger and venison Bolognese. My burger was dry and tasted terrible my dog would be very happy to have it when i get home that in itself sets a statement. The Bolognese was not paired well with the pasta and rapini was bitter so that did not sit well with us. We also bought the pate which was ok but not mind blowing the chef should rethink the way he constructs his dishes. Not fine dining at all 😕👎👎👎👎👎

Very classy and romantic establishment. Lots of great drink options, and preset three course menu in an awesome experience! All ingredients locally sourced farm to table, and it was easy to tell. Amuse-bouche of warm apple cider was a fantastic start, and the hits kept coming from there. Maple hot smoked salmon candy was unique and delicious, as was autumn greens and quinoa salad - goat fondue was the highlight here. Lamb shank and birds entrees were outstanding - perfectly prepared and accompanied, the lamb melted off the bone while the birds were a fun trip and different options. Chocolate hazelnut cheesecake and dark chocolate espresso creme brûlée were the perfect way to conclude the meal, the cheesecake is an absolute must-try. The only thing about our experience that was not completely positive was the service - it seems like maybe they were understaffed, or oversat our waitress. She was definitely hustling around, taking care of at least four to five tables, if not six or seven at times, also helping with hostess duties and mixing drinks at the bar. I appreciated her proficiency at executing all of these tasks, but unfortunately she was stretched too thin, and we were often left wondering when she would finally get back to us. Other than this small service complaint, this restaurant is outstanding and definitely worth a visit if you're in Niagara and want to experience some fine dining.

An enjoyable dining experience. Most of their ingredients come from within 100km of the restaurant, and it presented in some more unique dishes, like their rabbit. The dinner was a three course, choose you own adventure tasting menu. My one critique is that the cocktail shakers are so loud that it kind of echoed through the dining room, but otherwise it was a fantastic experience!

Such a hidden gem and so glad we found this place! It was very welcome amongst all the chaos of the main part of town. Our waiter was fantastic, and very patient with questions. We enjoyed learning more about the restaurant’s venture. The food was fresh and delicious - both the veggie and meat options. I particularly enjoyed sampling Canadian cheese!

I've been wanting to try AG for over a decade, and the food did not disappoint. The 3 course menu was well crafted and the food was beautiful. The cocktails and desert were all lovely, and it certainly made for a great evening out. It's a beautiful place, nestled in the basement of an Inn, but I could not get past the flies in the dining room. I realize that we have to live with pests but I'd rather not dine with them in that caliber of a restaurant.

Out of this world food experience. This is a must stop if you are in the area and value great food experiences. The atmosphere is elevated, but welcoming. Service was great. Everyone was so nice and attentive. The food is to die for. It will be one of the best meals you’ll ever have.

This meal was Beyond words. But I will try. Amazing service, calm atmosphere. Amazing bread and yummy cinnamon cider Aperitif. The food was killer. I've never tasted anything so perfect (and I'm a picky B) Last meal on earth stuff. I want to eat here nightly lol

This is my favorite meal on my trip to Niagara Falls. The food was spectacular. I ordered more than the 99 prixe fix meal because I wanted to try so many things and I’m so glad that I did . I hope in the future that more people discover this hidden gem!

  • 5/5 Lysanne C. 1 year ago on Google
Nice little restaurant. We booked there before a Greg Frewin show since it’s right next door. Great atmosphere and loved the idea of having a 99$ 3 course meal with options to choose from a menu (some high value items are an extra fee which is marked on the menu). The serving sizes were generous and we ended up taking some of it home . We were looking forward to trying the octopus but it wasn’t on that night so I opted for the quinoa and my husband had the carpaccio and both were delicious. For main I took the branzino which was AMAZING. The seasoning and sauce was sooo good ! My husband took the tenderloin and Brie crust which was also a huge hit with him! ( we were at Ruth Chris the night before and the tenderloin was no where near as good as the one we had at AG!) The dessert was OMG - the chocolate hazelnut cheesecake was the best cheesecake I’ve ever had in my life ! And I’m a huge cheesecake fan and always choose this for dessert at restaurants. Would highly recommend for couples and business outings ! Note - the chocolate martini is also fantastic

Super nice restaurant in Niagara Falls. It was super cozy and chic. Melanie greeted us when we arrived and was behind the bar, she took great care of us. She was very professional but not too serious like some places. Made us feel welcome. Her and her coworker (almost like sisters) had a great vibe and made us laugh lots. Melanie was very knowledgeable with the drinks and knew the menu perfectly. The food was really really good. Seasoned and cooked to perfection. Chapeau au chef! Great wine as well, generous with the portions and let us taste before choosing. Best service we’ve had on our 5 week long trip so far. Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Four stars only because the prices are insane. I understand that it’s because everything is local but they must really be turning a profit. The food was delicious, drinks were okay. Our server seemed overworked since there was only 2 servers working in our section at least. The location is a bit strange but it’s very close to Clifton Hill which is convenient.

Celebrated our engagement here and was given some extra drinks on the house. Arugula salad, beef carpaccio, chicken breast and lamb were all delicious. Gelato and strawberry shortcake delectable.

Absolutely amazing fine dining cuisine. Farm (their own) fresh to table. Temps were perfect .... literally EVERYTHING was perfect. Food was explained in detail by our waitress Melanie. She gave excellent service and made it a unique experience. We had the salmon and beef carpaccio for appetizers and they were both unique and delicious. Our main courses were the tenderloin and scallops and omg were they perfectly done and a unique mix of flavors. Definitely the strawberry shortcake and rosemary creme brulee were an excellent end to our meal. This is just an incredible menu and mix of flavors you won't regret trying.

The food was amazing. Worth every penny. Had the octopus for an app and the deer for dinner and everything was on point. Would of been cheaper without the adult beverages but wasn't going to cheap out ok this one. My wife had the soup and lamb and was just as good. Highly recommend coming to this place is you want something not touristy.

Unreal food! Would highly recommend the venison, and my boyfriend would highly recommend the dry rib! Will definitely come back here! Also the chocolate hazelnut cake.. phenomenal. Perfect dinner to complete an amazing weekend!

We loved this place! The atmosphere is very nice and the service very friendly. It’s a great place to celebrate something like an anniversary (like we did). It’s both fancy but not so fancy as to feel uncomfortable if you are not into that sort of thing. We were welcomed warmly and had any questions we had answered with a smile. We loved everything we ate, and I definitely recommend wine pairings for your courses. The food is hot, fresh, and perfectly cooked and seasoned. This was one of the best meals we have both had in a long time! We will definitely have this restaurant as an option next time we come to Niagara. It is worth the price 100%.

  • 5/5 Rose M. 1 year ago on Google
The food here was outstanding! I really appreciate the vegetarian options as well - I hope this will be an ongoing thing on future menus! Our waitress Fallon was very attentive and cheerful. Had a great anniversary dinner here and can't wait to come back :)

Loved it. I work in fine dining and I definitely appreciated all the work that went into the meal - the dishes were all inspired, presented beautifully and cooked deliciously. (with a slight exception on the carrpachio, it could use some seasoning)

  • 2/5 John C. 2 years ago on Google
Service: 9/10 Presentation: 7/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 Food: 1/10 To explain the low rating for the food, even though the presentation and service was great, the food was very under seasoned and esp the beef. Not only did it taste like it had been boiled for 2 hours, it did not taste like much. There was the bone marrow dish that was pretty good actually, but the overall experience did not go too well because of the food taste.

  • 5/5 airotciv v. 2 years ago on Google
Excellent seared scallops! Drinks we're generous as well. A nice atmosphere inside the building despite outside appearance of the hotel. Most of the food in NF has been disappointing! It was nice to * finally* eat somewhere memorable.
