Had to stop in and get a taste of the original Buffalo Wing! The place looks fine from the outside but is a little dated inside, but it was cool! Loved the service and the taste of our original Buffalo flavored wings. Nice bite. We ordered a 2nd batch of a garlicky flavored wing and didn't like as much. Would definitely return

Still the original, and still good, just not as amazing as it once was. Our service was curt and snappy, the atmosphere is cool. We got the white pizza, which has a pan fried dough bottom (Greek style) I would not repeat, but the wings are what we really came for and they were the expected classic buffalo wings. It's kind of a shame that the 50 piece meal which is so impressive, only lets you break it up into two different sauces.

Had to give this place a try since I was in the area. I mean, when an iconic restaurant presents itself, it's a must. I will say the place itself is pretty cool with a dive bar kind of feel. The wings were good....but they are definitely making money on the nostalgia. The wings were $15.99 for 10, but they were small. Definitely had bigger, and better for cheaper other places. This was probably a one hitter, quitter for me. Update: Gave this place 4 stars previously. After I received my credit card statement and seen where I got ripped off, I have to update. My tip for Kelsey was clearly written in the tip line, and the total was clear as well. It was changed by $2, so not worth a dispute with my credit card company. But goes to show that she clearly put the wrong amount in, and that the managers that are supposed to make sure the amount is correct failed. First time this has ever happened to me. Shameful!!

So you have to try the original, and since we're in the area it was a must do. We were skeptical that this was going to be good. But you know what it was delicious. By far the best chicken wings I've ever had. The wing sauce was very buttery a little bit spicy but not very spicy. If you do enjoy spicy or wings they have more spicier wings on the menu and you can order just a side of the regular sauce. The wings were expertly cooked to perfection. The boneless wings I didn't care as much for, so my recommendation is definitely just to try the original regular wings. I can see why these spread the world over.

Drove the 30 minutes from Niagara Falls to try this restaurant as Buffalo wings are a family favorite. The atmosphere was great, the waitress was attentive and friendly, the food was yummy! Service was timely and food was great! We ordered the pizza logs, honey BBQ and medium wings. The pizza logs were not a big hit with us but we loved the wings! Hubby wished there was a little more sauce but overall an enjoyable experience!

As classic of a place as one would expect from the restaurant that invented the Buffalo Chicken Wing. Walking in a top tier motorcycle collection is mounted around the upper walls of the establishment, and you're quickly greeted by the host. Putting our name in we got a beer from the classic bar and quickly was called for our table. Wanting to experience the original Buffalo sauce, we ordered a bucket of 20 wings and polished them off! Not too vinegary, perfect amount of twang I could've at 10 more. Delicious, definitely worth checking out if only for the experience!

A must eat, see and visit, in buffalo, it is the place where everything started, and yes it is unbelievably delicious, I have never tasted so good wings in my life, like this. The workers are so nice and professional, the entire place is a must see, the pictures on the wall of fame is remarkable, and wall of the licences plates, plus you can buy the recipes. Remarkable experience, I strongly recommend to add this to your bucket list.

Home of the buffalo wing, you kidding me. Doesn't get much cooler than that. Wings were as good as I've ever had. The standard for what a buffalo wing should be. Cool atmosphere. Great beer selection. It's not the best service. Waitress wasn't overly friendly and not all that attentive. Half our food came out almost 10 minutes before the rest Waited for a few minutes in the store area and had to ask for help. Kid checking us out seemed bothered that he had to help us. Wings were the bomb, service was not. Get the hot buffalo. It's not all that hot, and the taste was there. Not just hot for the sake of being hot. Great sauce.

This place was SUPER busy and definitely worth the wait. We only waited approximately 10 minutes. The wings were crispy and just the right amount of sauce. The flavor of the sauces was amazing! I had a fried bologna sandwich which had great char on it. The waitress was super busy yet she was still very attentive to our table.

We had to have the original wings from Buffalo and what better place to have it other than the original Anchor Bar!! Right after our thrilling day at Niagara Falls our choice of meal was to have some wings!! We had a combination of Original and extra spicy ones! It was so so good cleaned up our plates!! The combination of that blue cheese sauce was the best!! Anyone visiting Niagara Falls- stop over at Anchor bar for some wings!! The original Buffalo wings!

You will be surrounded by other tourists and you still need to check it out if you come here. The wings were good and I like that they are extra crispy. Pizza was surprisingly tasty. Fries were bad but not why we went there. I am mostly disappointed by the service - our waitress disappeared for like 10 minutes as I was trying to pay after taking a long time to get us going. It felt like the staff treated everyone as just another tourist rather than reciprocating the same excitement everyone had for making it here. This review won’t stop you from trying it and you should, just temper expectations.

Raid trip to Anchor Bar. Home of the original Buffalo Wings. Eclectic restaurant with motorcycles and license plates on the walls. Original Medium wings were just right on the spice front. Enough to tingle your lips but not have you requesting more napkins for your forehead. Not crowded on a Saturday night. Bucket list place to go.

Home of the original chicken wing and I was not disappointed. This place doesn't look that big from the outside, but it has a ton of room on the inside along with a gift shop. We had great service on our visit and I would definitely come back. The pizza logs are a must before you dive into the wings. The wings had a great crispy outside crunch and the spicy garlic parmesan were an amazing flavor. If you are getting lunch or want to watch a game and get some wings, this is the place to go.

As a chicken wing lover, I always wanted to check this place out and taste the wings for myself. Anyone that has been there always told me they had better wings elsewhere, and it’s not worth the hype. Well……. After my experience I agree with what I was told. First off, the service was slow. We waited at the table for almost 20 minutes and it was not even that busy. It was a weekday around one pm. The wings themselves were not very meaty. They were not as crispy as I would have liked. I just was not satisfied at all. Dont get me wrong, the wings were good, I ate them all, but they sure were not the best wings I ever ate. The inside had plenty of seating, and the parking lot had plenty of parking. The price was on the expensive side, but I get it. It’s a tourist attraction.

You know that scene in National Lampoon Christmas Vacation where the family is choking down super dry roast turkey? Our wings were just about that dry. Some were so overcooked that the meat had become dry and rock hard. We had medium hot snd the honey bourbon. Sauces are fine just stop overcooking the wings. Perfectly fine chef’s salad. Service is excellent.

I had to stop in to the place that started it all. The wings were good. Not amazing. But coked perfectly and a great hot sauce. I asked for a side of there atomic and it was hot but not as hot as I expected. Went with a side of mozz sticks and they were great. Fried crisp. Melty cheese in the middle. Decent marinara. Will I go back. Prob not. Glad I went. Sure.

I’ve been here a few times before when I was assigned to the Buff. This was the first time bringing my family here-and it was awesome. Two kids ages 8 and 9 loved it. Service was great. I mean great. I wish I remembered her name but she was great. This is definitely a family friendly place or a hard core drinking place depending on what you are looking for. If you are in the Buff and want to do something fun this is your place. Food is typical Buffalo-fantastic.

First off, best wings I've ever had. Meaty and crunchy skin, perfect amount of sauce. I got a sandwich, and the beef was really tender. The. bun was super salty.. i checked their hours online earlier in the day, we drove from Canada to eat here, and when we walk in, they say they're closing early. Luckily we did get so.e food and glad i tasted the wings. Excellent.

The Bar itself is great. Nice place to watch some games. The Wings were phenomenal! We tried just Medium and they were awesome. We had some potato wedges too but they were delivered to the table when we were almost done with our wings. The local beers were great! If you sit at the small tables around the bar area, you have to get up and order at the bar. So you don't get customer service you have to get up and ask the bartender for refills and napkins and where are your potatoes wedges you ordered. Also the person in charge of the gift shop area shouldn't be the one bagging up To-Go orders either. The gift shop is busy enough without that person leaving for 5 minutes at the time to go to the kitchen to fetch orders. Should have a server bring the completed orders up to the takeout stand.

Absolutely lives up to the hype. If you're in town or looking for a cool road trip with friends go for it. The bar is super cool with lots of memorabilia tastefully displayed. The servers were friendly and attentive. The food? OUTSTANDING. I had beef on a weck multiple times while visiting the area and this was by far the best and it wasn't even close. The meat was tender thin and delicious. The roll wasn't overwhelming salty like other places. Perfect balance and the wings were great. Other places they were too dry but not at the Anchor bar. They were juicy and the right size for a wing and the medium sauce was great and I also tried the hot on the side and it's not overwhelming. If you like heat go for the hot. Plenty of free off road parking as well. Prices were more than reasonable and they're smart enough to offer 5 wings with most meals for an additional reasonable price so that you can try them without getting a full order.

Very fun! Place to go. Great atmosphere. A lot of fun things to look at on the walls. The bar people are very friendly and so it's all of the white stuff. Had a great night there. The only thing is they may have been the creators of the buffalo wing, but they're not the best buffalo wings. They're nice, it's good and it's very nice experience, but don't expect to be blown away by the food

**If my review is helpful, please click on the "LIKE" button...thank you!** So...this is where Buffalo Wings originated - or at least that's the claim! Either way, I try to stop here at least once every time I'm in Buffalo - this location is the "original" location (on Main Street). There are other branches now in Buffalo and even one in Niagara Falls - I haven't been to any of those locations, so can't tell you what they're like. This location is...quaint. 😏 The decor doesn't disappoint, with all sorts of memorabilia on the walls, including several motorcycles and a vast array of license plates from across the country. This was the first time my family accompanied me, and it was a fun time for all...the food is great - and yes, we got nothing but wings! 😁 We went on a Saturday evening, and even though it was relatively full, we only had to wait a few minutes for a table. Service is good, and yes, there are other things on the menu apart from wings - the usual bar/pub fare. My previous visits have been when I was in town with my brother for a Buffalo Bills game, and this is a good place for Bills fans to gather. All in all, I'd highly recommend that you stop by and get wings - you'll enjoy them, and then you can tell everyone you've been to the restaurant where Buffalo Wings originated! 😃

Having eaten many a buffalo wing over the years, when the chance was offered to eat at the origin location of the buffalo wing concept, we jumped on it. Parking was straightforward via the attached lot. We arrived in the afternoon and though it wasn't too busy at first it picked up quickly. We were seated immediately and our server was very nice and attentive. We went with the original medium wing sauce on bone-in wings, and my wife also tried the boneless wings. The food arrived surprisingly quickly! I have to say...these were some of, if not the, best wings I have ever eaten. They were crispy and cooked to perfection, with a crunch and flavor that was superb! Everyone in our party was taken aback at how good the food was. The wings were also much larger than we thought they'd be. I ordered the 20 piece but could have ordered half and still been stuffed. Worth the visit!

Too oily food. I have no idea how people eat this and survive. Literal waste of 25 bucks. Was unable to eat any of the dishes we ordered fully. They taste gross!! I will admit that the sweet potato fries are the only ones that are really good here, probably the best I have ever had.

Good wings and cool decor! They have very nice Ducatis all over the walls! Tried the "extreme hot" sauce and it wasn't too bad. The wings were cooked well and the sauces tasted pretty good. Fried pickles were awesome as well. Stuffed peppers are a must! Would recommend!

Home of the original buffalo wings! Everyone orders wings here. Great wings, great service! The Ruben sandwich is also wonderful. The kids loved the pizza, the pepperoni one was a little well done but it really didn't matter to them. Beer is good too! Location has excellent parking as well.

The atmosphere was well done. When we walked in it wasn't busy and unfortunately our male host was too busy to notice we walked in and stood 5 feet behind him while he talked up another waitress (who had tables and was trying to input orders). I had to interrupt the conversation since we had no idea if we were at the stand. He apologized and took us to our table. Our waitress was swift and nice but didn't bring us silverware or ask if we needed anything (even ketchup, salt or pepper). We had to flag her down for those (by that time the host was over on our side on a milk crate sitting and talking to her so I'm sure that's why she was preoccupied). The appetizer came out and it should of been obvious what's to be coming .... Well over-fried food. The mozzarella pizza sticks had a cheese texture of a shoe but the pepperoni was fine. The mozzarella sticks were actually done correctly as was our potato skins. It was unimaginable that this being the FIRST buffalo wing place that they were also too over-done. Very sad. I think of this as a tourist trap (every license plate in the lot was NOT NY) with some awesome back story but if I was steering someone for wings I'd say stop by and check it out but get your wings elsewhere!!!! Forgot to add .... Women's restroom had completely full trash (all 3 bins) falling on floor 🤮🤮🤮🤮

I hate to say this because the service was so nice and friendly, and the restaurant itself has a really fun, funky and old school vibe to it, but for a place billed as the home of the original wings, I expected the food to be something a lot more special, and it certainly isn't that.

  • 5/5 Caitlin W. 7 months ago on Google
Very cool place! The decor is really interesting and the place seems to be always quite packed. The bartending staff are really lovely and it’s dog friendly which is a plus. They say that it’s the home of buffalo wings, and they are decent don’t get me wrong, but I do feel like I’ve had better elsewhere. The spice isn’t that hot and we got the spicy garlic Parmesan and spicy medium (original). Definitely worth a visit though!!

Since we crossed the border from Niagra into Buffalo, we had to go to the original home of the Buffalo wing. It was so cool to see pictures on the walls of famous people who had been there. I highly suggest having the regular Buffalo wings, the honey bourbon wings (our favorite) and the honey garlic wings. Can't ever go wrong with wings. Food came fast. Really sweet waitress, and you can have a cold RC Cola too! Would eat here again!!!!

  • 3/5 Alex Z. 7 months ago on Google
Only here because it’s the Original, the food itself didn’t really stand out. You can get much better fried chicken wings elsewhere. The wings are a bit too dry, I had the dry rub one the rub are not even attached to the wings then I had to dip my wings try to get some flavor on. And my plate only comes with 9 wings instead of 10. Didn’t send them back because it’s always a bad idea to send back you will never know where your next plate is coming from. Get a seat by the bar or near the bar around, it gets the service pretty fast.

Wings 8.1/10 Blue cheese 5/10 Wings lack the crispy finish and you cannot Mix sauces. Blue cheese lacked flavor. But overall a good experience and worth checking out. Service is just ok. The roll on the beef sandwich is incredibly salty, but beef was good.

Had to stop at the iconic Anchor Bar on our way back from Niagara. The place is fun with motorcycles on the wall and so much other stuff! Service was fast and friendly! Worth the visit! Wings were good! Beer was good too! Got original wings and the Anchor Bar IPA. CANT GO WRONG!

Obviously if you were in Buffalo and you love chicken wings, you need to stop at the place were the original chicken wing was invented. The atmosphere is really cool with old motorcycles and memorabilia. All over in the staff is fantastic. Our food was hot and fresh in the wings were perfect their blue cheese dressing is some of the best I’ve ever had. Everything was just like advertised!! We’ll be back!

We stopped here on our way back home from Niagara Falls. My fiancé loves Buffalo Wings so it was a must do while we were in the area. It was a Tuesday at 11:30am, so it was a bit early for me to have wings but they were good and so was the beer. The Anchor Bar IPA was excellent! Overall good service and food, so I’d definitely come again. It’s probably great on weekend afternoons to catch a game.

The food here was delicious. Well, at least the wings and fries were. Everyone in our group had wings. They were crispy and very flavorful. Quite possibly the best wings I have ever had. The walls are decorated with photos of people that have visited the establishment, and it was really cool to check that out.

Hey what's another review of this place going to hurt? This is a piece of nostalgic magic in the heart of downtown Buffalo. It would be a shame if you didn't stop in and have a bite. The burgers are great and the wings 😋 🙌🏾 well let's just say don't eat with your eyes.

Have wanted to make the pilgrimage to this landmark for years and it absolutely did not disappoint. Food was delicious, service was even better. The patronage was also super fun as we met and had great conversations at the bar. The original Buffalo wings were tasty but our favorite had to be the Cajun dry rub. Make the trip. It is worth it.

Here traveling through and we stopped in Buffalo just to come to the original. The wings were great the wife had a meatball sub that was huge and she only ate half. The kids had pizza and they were good sized portions for them (6 and under) the pizza rolls were different but tasty. The food was delicious, hot, and came out in a timely manner. Service was great and every one we came in contact with was very helpful and pleasant!

Nice bar. Nice restaurant. Staff was very nice and friendly. Kinda pricey for buffalo wings. I get it everything is more expensive. But whatever. Still it was neat to go to the origin of buffalo wings. Lots of memorabilia. Check it out.
