So many chocolate options and they taste great. They have no sugar options. The decor was very thrown back in time with a very comfortable warm welcome feeling. I ordered a rice pudding 😁 Cookies and Cream sundae 🤤

Drove by hundreds of times and finally stopped in. Very cool like a step back in time. Very classy, clean and smells to make your mouth water. A wide variety of chocolates, sponge candy and other assorted candies. We received a free sample while we browsed. We purchased a few items and all were outstanding! Before we left we went into the desert area. There are sundaes and pies. I had the caramel apple pie ala mode. Filling and tasty. There was plenty of seating including patio space. Friendly staff and certainly a place you need to visit. You won't be disappointed! UPDATE: Stopped in again and everything is dressed up for the holidays. Really a charming place with great candy / deserts. The caramel apple pie is pretty tasty!

Have been eating this chocolate since I can remember, way back to my Niagara Wheatfield days at the Summit Park Mall. This is my favorite chocolate of ALL TIME. It’s unlike anything else I’ve ever eaten. 5 stars. 2 thumbs up. 10 out of 10. The BEST!

Honestly this is the best tasting chocolate within the entire area. It’s soft and delicate and truly melts in your mouth. There is no weird chalky after taste like you get from other chocolate shops or that cheap taste you get from chocolate melt bags at the store. Oh and the sponge candy is pure perfection.

This is the place!!!! It’s a rainy football Sunday and I just got back from buying a bag of six pieces of English Toffee and 2 Ice Cream Brownie Sundaes!!! Wow!! Excellent customer service in both the Chocolate Store and the Ice Cream Parlor! My guy and I could not believe the generous portions of the sundaes and the tremendous quality of the hot fudge and toffee!!! The most delicious chocolate and the best ice cream that we’ve ever had!! Great atmosphere and delicious truffles, caramel apples and fudge!! A treat all year long!! A beautiful spot anytime!

Great place! Awesome menu and atmosphere... Only reason it's not 5 ✨ is cuz there was only one poor girl working the counter, and the menu items were no quick pour and go stuff... She def needed a second person . The specialty shakes were crazy good!

Beautiful place! Very memorable experience there bring you back to childhood and chocolates. The person who served us seemed to be having a bad day other than that it was such a beautiful place to have ice cream and get chocolate.

Alethea’s has the best chocolate. Chocolate popcorn, sponge candy, truffles and any other chocolate you buy is the best. We live out of town now and always stop when home. You will not be disappointed.

Ordered the chocolate peanut butter pie from the ice cream shop, it was fantastic. Really good crust, the whipped cream top layer lasted several days in the fridge (it was a huge hit but too many dessert options that day). The blueberry pie was also very nice, really nice crust. The filling maybe needed a pinch of salt but still really special and wonderful.

I travel a lot and always hit a locally owned chocolate house. The chocolate and ice cream is a 4 compared to dozens of others. But the experience, the sample trays that staff brings around, the look and feel of the store and the general ambiance are outstanding. I would particularly recommend the peanut butter fudge which is a 4.5.

As soon as you walk in, you're hit with the smell of fresh chocolate. The chocolate shop was amazing! Definitely ask if they're doing any free samples while you're in there. There were so many delicious treats to choose from, I could have spent hours looking around, taking it all in. On the other side of the house is the ice cream shop. Again, delicious and a wide range of flavors/treats to pick from! Pro tip: the milkshakes are massive when you're dining in! If you have a sweet tooth, you gotta stop in!!

Wonderful ambiance in both the ice-cream parlor and the chocolate shop. Very cozy and clean! I had a pleasant experience with Irene - she is an absolute sweetheart and quite knowledgeable. They have themed chocolate for EVERY occasion - birthdays, graduations, sports, etc. They have treats shaped like Christian crosses and Star of David, religious themed chocolates… but nothing for Muslims! Hopefully they will change that soon. It would be wonderful to buy some Eid chocolates, possibly before Ramadan! It’s a chance to greatly increase your customer base. Lovely place all around :) thank you, Alethea’s !

Get the sponge candy and fudge. The ice cream is very good too. The prices might seem a bit on the high side but the chocolate is excellent quality. Nice milky taste and not too sweet. They offered samples which is always a great idea as I would not have bought the fudge otherwise. It was softer and tasted fresher, with higher quality ingredients, than typical fudge which tends to be more crumbly with higher fat and sugar. Nice people and the home-like atmosphere is a bonus.

Great chocolate shop and cafe for any occasion. I stopped here for a holiday gift for a teacher. They have so many options and price ranges. I also found some great stocking stuffers. The packaging for the chocolates already looks nice if you need to stop in for a quick gift without having to worry about wrapping it. Looking forward to going back in the summer for their ice cream. I’ve also heard they have the best sponge candy in town. I haven’t tried it yet though.

Best. Truffles. Ever. Cherry cordials are delish and sponge candy is on point as well. Orange chocolate miniatures are delightful. Visit their ice cream shop if they're open on your visit, too! A 5-star rating is too low-- I'd give more if Google would let me! The truffles, cordials, and orange chocolates are a Michelin star experience!! I always buy chocolates from here whenever I visit home and request them for birthday and Christmas gifts!!

Beware. ...It takes immense self control to not walk out with bags of goodies. There is quite a variety of chocolate delights ( and ice cream on the other side)! I once thought I had the best sponge in Buffalo until I tried Alethea's.

My absolute favorite place to get chocolate in Buffalo. Everything is always so tasty and worth the money. I also love how they have stuffed animals to buy throughout the shop. While I don't always go to their ice cream parlor, they have many different offerings, and you cannot go wrong! My fav thing to get: orange chocolate sponge candy

I absolutely love Alethea's! Growing up I used to go with my family, but this was my first time back after moving away. It lived up to my memories as a child and I could not recommend it more! The ice cream parlor is charmingly old fashioned with a large selection of sundaes. After gorging yourselves on ice cream proceeded to the chocolate shop where some of them are even hand dipped! Don't forget to try a sample of their homemade fudge as you peruse the shelves and shelves of chocolate. Alethea's will be your new happy place!

A wonderful and special place, you can not imagine the flavors that you will find in this chocolate shop, you will find a cafe that has great espresso and great ice cream and the workers were so nice.

There's two parts to the shop. One on side is a cafe that serves ice cream, pies, cakes and sweets. On the other side is a candy store selling all sorts of high end chocolates. We usually get the ice cream. They have a variety of homemade flavors and all sorts of toppings. There is a menu that you can order off of or just design your own. Their french chocolate sauce is there specialty. The candy store has all of the usual things including chocolate covered pretzels, malted milk balls, fudge and caramels and creams. Of course they have the local favorite: Sponge Candy. Almost everything they make comes in milk or dark chocolate. The prices are generally either $20 or $30 per pound, which I think is a little high, but they quality is very good.
