Went
for
our
first
visit
at
the
mental
health
ward.
Staff
were
helpful
and
offered
assistance
that
was
very
much
appreciated.
The
room/floor
was
very
cold
and
very
noisy.
Our
son
was
dressed
in
a
hospital
gown/pants
only.
Upon
leaving,
staff
informed
me
"warm
clothes
may
be
brought
in,
dress
like
them
in
layers"
-
great!
Stopped
and
purchased
lounge
pants,
undershirt,
flannel
shirt,
and
socks.
Returned
and
items
were
delivered
by
incoming
staff
passing
security
stop.
Called
nursing
station
later
to
know
if
he
changed
out
of
gown.
Was
told
items
were
received
at
nursing
station,
logged
in
as
his
property,
and
waiting
on
doctor's
orders!
Say
what?!!!
To
change
into
basically
pajamas?!
So
I
asked
for
the
doctor
on
call
to
be
contacted.
She
said
she's
not
calling
the
doctor
"for
that"
only
emergencies.
Right!
Because
"for
that"
is
a
common
sense
thing.
I
realize
staff
are
only
following
orders
but
they
should
be
able
to
make
that
judgment
call
after
inspecting
the
items
without
waiting
for
doctor's
orders.
Please!
I
wanted
my
son
to
be
warm
not
added
suffering
because
he
is
cold
along
with
his
mental
condition.
I
overheard
the
visitor
before
me
say
he
was
dropping
of
clothes
and
told
he
could.
He
left
angry.
Now
I
know
why.
Of
course
we're
told
clothes
may
be
brought
in
but
not
that
doctor's
order
are
needed
because
it's
silly.
After
all,
we
are
told
"No
strings,
no
hoodies."
I
know
the
staff
or
anyone
for
that
matter
wouldn't
want
to
be
dressed
in
a
hospital
gown
only
for
ANY
length
of
time
in
that
cold
environment.
I
will
be
contacting
the
proper
channels.
