Beautiful. I visited and the sand is clean and I swam in the water. The water is clean too! It’s not Niagara Falls where the crime is high, this is Grand Island where the crime is not high and is calm and quiet. I loved it here and I will visit again

Really gorgeous park butts up to a surprisingly nice little beach with swimming area. Sand is well maintained and the park is clean. No pets allowed on the beach area so we couldn't take full advantage with our doggo but it was really nice.

It's ok I guess. I'm use to NYC beaches so this was nothing like a beach to me. I guess I better get use to lakes. Kids had fun. They also have a playground. You're only allowed to use a small section of the lake that goes up to your knees. I personally would go there for a picnic. It's beautiful for a picnic day or to relax.

Most annoying lifeguards I've ever experienced. If you love wading out 30 yards to waist high water and hearing lifeguards yell at everyone for everything (they literally yelled at me for tossing a ball of kelp back and forth to my friend, far away from everyone else), then check it out. Otherwise, you can't really swim at all and all you hear is yelling from power mad lifeguards. Find another beach, this isn't fun.

It's great for a simple small beach with standard features, not super well kept but has a decent playground and picnic areas for gatherings and the kids and isn't a super far drive to a bigger beach.

Nice place. Clean and organized. A lot of parking lots and several tables to have a meeting, break or a meal outside.

My favorite place to go when it's 80Β° and higher the water is polluted it's $7 to park your car I like to go after 6:00 p.m. just watch the sunset it's free to park I walk up and down the beach but once the sun goes down I'm out of there because the mosquitoes come out and they're hungry bloodsucking mosquitoes so I'm out of there after the sun goes down I won't be going back till next year if God willing and I'm still alive

We went there to check it out on our way to Niagara Falls to see if the wife and kids would like it. Looking around there's a few play grounds and a beach. We will be back to spend a day there

Yikes. This was out of an 80's post apocalyptic punk movie. Everyone on the beach had the scummy "I crawled out of a gutter and dyed my hair a manic color" esthetic. This is not a beach, but, for New York, sure I guess. It's dirt, not sand, and in it are several gems none of which are safe to step on. The water was the real fright, it had a fancy green froth rolling on shore that gave an unsettling feeling of imminent death, however, the natives swam in it just fine. I offer only that if you are not from here to just go to Sunshine Bay.

I've been going to Beaver Island since I was little. I enjoy the beach, but the restrictions have gotten so insane! You can't wear snorkels or masks that cover your nose, you can't bring balls, you can't go past a certain spot on the beach, you can't go too far out,or the lifeguards will scold you. The sand is nice, but the water is dirty,so I definitely recommend taking a bath/shower when you get home. However,to get to the good part of this review,Beaver Island is a nice spot to enjoy a day with family,go minnow hunting, and play in the water. Check it out sometime (just be prepared for restrictions :-))

Overall a nice place to spend with family. The sand is really clean, you can only swim upto a certain distance and it is not very deep. Enjoyed the calm atmosphere as it was not very crowded!

Paid the $7 park fee just so I could park my car and be told the beach has just been closed. Drive back out and stopped to ask for a refund, but one girl had no clue and the other was too busy on her phone. So much for living on a fixed income. Not at all happy and will never go back on a weekend if it costs $7 to drive in and right back out again

Great place to spend a day with friends or family. Full locker rooms with bathrooms. State Parks Police and Lifeguards on site. There's a snack shop even though it was closed. Many areas to picnic with numerous picnic tables, grills, and shelters. I saw a volleyball court as well.

Great little get away from the city. Went with my kids we were there for a good 5-6 hours playing volleyball, eating, and walking the beach. Even if it's busy there's plenty of room so everyone isn't on top of each other. The beach isn't huge but the grass area is so you have an option to not be in the sun the entire time which is great. Super clean as well good place to hang out for the day definitely recommend.

We had our final summer hoorah here over Labor Day. Our typical beach is Woodlawn but we decided to give the island a go. Unlike Woodlawn, Beaver Island has compact, walkable sand but the water is quite rocky. Bring your water shoes and you’re sure to have a grand time. Extra credit for having a water bottle filling station near the bathrooms.

This is a clean beach that is great for kids! Very easy to be socially distant. I have brought my 9 year old, 7 year old and baby to this beach many times this summer. There is a great playground and many picnic areas under shaded trees. Only $7 to enjoy a beautiful day at the beach! Highly recommend :)

A lot better than in the past. Looks like they are maintaining a cleaner beach, the sand is groomed and no rocks in the sand like the past where it made it hard to walk. Glad they are stepping up their game. On another note parking is $7 don't really like that part but they accept credit and debit cards as well as cash so that's a plus.

This was only my second time at this beach but it was the same both times. It was clean! They had life guards out that were doing a great job of being attentive and it was a nice little family location where the kids could play and we could watch and get in. They had it sectioned off for getting in the water. I’m guessing to keep down the number of lifeguards they need to cover an area. I wish they had more of the beach open to spread out some, but it wasn’t too crowded.

One of the very few beach-like shores in WNY that you get to actually enjoy different activities, feel the sand underneath your feet, play sand volleyball, picnic by the dock.. AND very well maintained!

Just went Saturday (June 22, 2019) HORRIBLE! Didn't know we had to pay to park ($7) Didn't know there wasn't any changing tables so I changed the baby on her dads lap, out in the open smfh. And sand flys were EVERYWHERE! They were all over the baby's mouth, stroller, and me. Left 5 minutes after arriving. Water isn't really as clean as everybody makes it sound to be.
