One of the nicest beaches in the St. Catharines area. Theres a huge parking lot, although you have to pay for parking now, which is $3 an hour, for a maximum of three hours. St. Catharines residents can apply for a $15 summer parking pass online. There’s a convenience store which has food and drinks such a popcorn, hotdogs, fries, and icecream. There’s huge washroom and change room areas. There’s a large grassy area and picnic tables. There’s also a shelter/ pavilion with picnic tables that you can rent out. There are Canadian geese in the grassy area typically so you have to be mindful of where you walk. The sand is clean, light and smooth. The water is clean, clear, calm and shallow for a great distance. There’s very few to no rocky areas in the water. As a result, the lake & beach area is great for water sports such as spikebouy, spikeball or football. The beach is long with lots of space to sit. There’s some shaded areas and trees as well. There’s opportunities to walk along the pier, picnic, or a ride a carousel. The beach is also close to restaurants, coffee shops (Balzacs, 416 Coffee, Thistle Cafe and Bookstore) and ice cream stores. However, the last few times I went there were some people who made the beach feel somewhat hostile through being disrespectful of others through their noise or displays. Overall, it’s a nice beach to go for a beach day, or a stroll with a friend, depending on parking.

Surprisingly relaxing with a nice beach and a good marinena walk. You can see not one but two well kept light houses. There is a good walk or jog exercise along the marina, You may also see some patient angulars hoping for their best catch of the day. It's about one and half hours from Toronto with is a great escape when you are looking for something worthwhile doing during this pandemic times.

Parking is expensive but the place was packed full of people and no where to park anyways. It's a nice little Beach and pier walk on the water. The carousel isn't running due to covid. I can get a locals pass but didn't bother since I don't visit here often. The cute little downtown is looking better but still has a ways to go to surpass the glory days of old. It's a nice stop over for a sailboat journey, a few decent restaurants or coffee shop but not much to see past that.

Very nice well maintained beach with plenty (albeit not free) parking. Walking distance to restaurants, bars, coffee etc. Sit on the beach, in shade under the trees or stroll down the pierce. Clean washrooms, dog friendly, checks all the boxes.

What a beautiful beach in Port Dalhousie. Nice shallow waterfront with a clean beach, perfect for kids complete with views of the harbour and lighthouse. Big mature trees separate the park and the beach. The carousel 🎠 is a must ride! Next time, we will stay for a bit and explore the area.

This is definitely a little gem of s Beach. The city has spent a fair bit of money to renovate. The downside is that now you have to pay for parking. It's $3/hr for a maximum of 3 hrs. However, if you are a resident of St. Catharines, you can apply for a yearly pass for $15, and it's definitely worthwhile. Great facilities and a great beach.

I've seen people complaining about the parking but there is a QR code to pay online up to 3 hours and you can pay with multiple options. Mostly they complain because before it was free but I believe this is one of the best beaches around with sand instead of rocks and water is usually clean

Quaint village, great little clean sandy, gradual, beach. A few bars and restaurants. HORRIBLE parking ticket machines by the beach area. Seems everyone was having difficulty getting them to work with credit cards. $3/hr. The old Carousel still up and running for 5 cents a ride!

Great place to listen to the waves, watch ships and seagulls. Not crowded now, but lots of people on dinner days. Parking is free in winter and three dollars per hour in summer.

This is a beautiful Lakeside Park with two nicely coloured light houses, and a very long walkway that takes you quite far into Lake Ontario. It does have a beautiful beach if you’re into swimming in the lake or tanning and also has an ice cream place where we could get really good ice cream. It also has a huge seating area that is also shaded and suitable if you want to have something to eat and be protected from the sun. The lake, the marina and the lighthouses make it a nice and picturesque place. You’ll enjoy it if you visit in a warm day!

I bought the city parking pass and still ended up having to pay for parking as the parking lot was full and only parking available was at the side of lane going in WHICH the parking pass is NOT useful for 😔 TOTAL waste of money for a permit you cannot use! The beach was not busy but the water smelled. However, the children played in the sand and enjoyed the Carousel.

When we went with my family, there weren't many people. The place is in very good condition. Parking is very close to the beach, where there is also park and picnic areas to share. The cost of parking is very cheap.

Construction is done! People are enjoying the park and piers. The water craft are in the water. The fishers are exercising patience.

Driving through the area I wanted to take my young boys (2 and 4) to a park to play. What an absolute surprise this place was. A beautiful beach on Lake Ontario, great park space, newer playground and best of all a century old beautiful carousal! A must stop for anyone visiting or who lives here. Only downside, $3 an hour for parking ...but worth it !

A picturesque beach on the south shore of Lake Ontario situated in historic Port Dalhousie. Stunning views of the Port Dalhousie harbour, lighthouse and the north shore of Lake Ontario

Crystal clear water! Washrooms are clean beach is beautiful. It is shallow for a good distance before it gets deeper. Great for kids and family. It’s a small beach area. There’s also the marina area where there is boats and along walkway to the lighthouse, which is really nice Lookout point. There’s a picnic area with tables and benches. There’s also a canteen where you can buy food and drinks. It’s also connected to a small town where there’s a lot of restaurants and stores around. It’s paid parking $3 an hour. we went through in the week day and had no issue finding parking. Definite will be back.

Good beach with amenities, like washrooms. Lots of trees to sit on the shade. Water is very shallow. Perfect for children. The only downside is there's a maximum of 3 hours parking ($3 per hour). What do you do after 3 hours ? Do you need to leave ? Next time I'm there I'll ask the parking enforcement officer. ( they always seem to be around). I actually paid for 2 hours. Then I tried to get another 2 and it only allowed me 3 total hours. So I left after 3 hours. Not impressed by that time limit because it's a beautiful & peaceful place and wanted to stay longer. I would have rated it 5 stars if it wasn't for the parking time limit.

Great beach. not usually too crowded even though it's popular. Allways check with the regional website to see if the water is safe to swim. It can also get wavy here when winds are coming from the north. The beach has a great view of the sunset. Really recommend you check it out in the summer.

Very windy to day. The dog had a blast on the beach. They now charge for parking and a new picnic shelter

Nice family park located off of Lake Ontario in Port Dalhousie. There is a huge beach, a picnic area, sidewalks and trails for walking and biking and a carousel with rides for just 5¢. The town of Port Dalhousie is just a block away. If you're familiar with the RUSH song Lakeside Park, this is the inspiration as drummer Neal Peart spent his summers working here.

NO SIGNAGE ABOUT PAY TO PARK! This is definitely a money trap. 20 minutes of being attacked by bugs only to find a $50 to $100 parking ticket attached to our car windshield. Definitely not going back. Do Not recommend this park for walking!

So was little wet and drab but was fun! Water was a lot higher today than last week! Or even last month. Mussels are definitely taking over the lake. Sad to see.... Also will hurt walking on them in bare feet!!

Great beach and carousel for 5cents a ride. Parking is not cheap for non residents but totally worth the drive. Great swimming location and you can walk out quite far even for the kiddos.

Went there 2 weeks ago, the waterline was covered with an ice shelf. Be careful if you walk past the summertime shoreline.
