Quarry is beautiful. Beaches are very nice. Shallow water. Didn't get to use the pool much because of lineups to get in. Bathrooms in the camping areas need some love. The rustic cabin is awesome! Golf cart a must!!! Overall very fun place with lots to do. Will return :)

Worth the cost and time. Enjoyed the go carts, food trucks, beach and pool. Everyone was polite. Perfect place for children. If you’re okay with driving alongside with go carts, this is the perfect vacation or living place for you. Definitely recommend to try the Farout smoothies truck on a hot day. Farout are out of this world.

This is not the sort of camping experience I'm used to....which is quiet, remote, maybe a little rustic or primitive. That is not this. On the weekend we were there (post opening of the Canadian border to vaccinated Americans, to finally see my daughter and her children) the place was packed. And busy. And the golf carts (for rent, but reserve one ahead of time, they run out, and the place is too big to walk it) with varying skill levels of their drivers (and they're not supposed to be underage, but I'm not convinced that that was well enforced....but like I said, it was busy) were sometimes a hazard. As was the traffic, generally. And people are loud, and the campsites quite closely packed. Mind you, there's lots to do here. Playgrounds, splashpads, mini-golf, two pools, a wading pool and hot tub (closed, for now, due to COVID, I don’t doubt). And THREE water slides! And there’s the beach, fresh water of course and with crystal-clear water, being Lake Erie...there are good reasons to come. There are still COVID protocols being observed. The pools are cleared every two hours for cleaning...not sure what needs to be cleaned, but apparently a provincial requirement, and if you’re not an “owner”, access to them is limited...and there was at least one occasion when a washroom stall was in need of tissue, another needing urgent maintenance (I'll spare you the details). And the resort seems to do everything... timeshare, rentals, camp sites and cabins, and the place is sprawling. It's just not quite my cup of tea. But it's a great place for the kids, and as I said, we were here for my grandchildren, who really had a good time.

Have gone to Sherkston the last 3 years, this year was a disappointment. Each year we rent two cabins directly from the resort. This year we rented a premium waterfront property; only once we arrived we were locked out since the pin pad was malfunctioning. We waited 40 minutes to get access. When we got in the trailer was 92 degrees. The AC was broken ! When we called after hours they said maintenance would look at it in the morning. Traveling with 3 kids and staying in that heat was unbearable. Eventually that night they dropped off a portable AC but it didn't do much to help. We spent the night in the other trailer cramped up and missed out on the waterfront experience. I asked 3 times to have a supervisor or manager call me but to no avail. Sherkston was offering a great promo to rebook and we came with the intentions of booking again but nobody cared to call me back. I event sent an email and had no follow up. The resort is super busy they will find new guests to rent; undecided if we will be back. Left a very bitter taste of not feeling valued as a guest and paying premium waterfront and not experiencing what we paid for. ** A phone call would have been nice to attempt to persuade us to visit your park again. Instead the response is a discount to spend money instead of addressing the issue. 15% discount does not equal to night lost at a waterfront premium lot where two families were crammed into a regular trailer. I don't think you realize we lost access to the home because of heat was unbearable for 3 kids. Things happen, but clearly shows your interest is in profiting and not having empathy

The kids live the water park but also playgrounds, camp fires, the beach the quarry the golf cart. lol, the experience!! great safety measure at the pools and water park. inside of areas just recently opened-dining inside Boston pizza, the arcade, children's crafts and events. it's about spending time and building memories and you can absolutely have that here.

Very well curated experience for those who enjoy resorts. Opportunity to tent, go in a cabin, rv, or trailer. Most of these options have fire pits. The campsites are pretty close to eachother and not that private or with much foliage. You can try to rough it or easily have a nice get away. There’s a big store, cafe, bar, restaurants, and a church. There’s beaches, a quarry, pools, kids pools, and a hot tub. There’s tons of amenities such as an arcade, water park, mini golf, sports (ex. Skateboarding, tennis, beach volleyball), and activities. You can also rent golf carts, or go canoeing and kayaking... It’s very loud at night and the roads are kind of dangerous with the amount of people walking, golf carting, and driving in the dark. Some people drink excessively at night on the resort. It’s also quite busy during the day, especially in the pool area. The last time I went, during covid, they took covid precautions. They did extra cleaning, provided sanitizer and extra masks. However, there were long lineups and people did not mask or social distance.

Open your wallet this place will cost you! Everything is an add on to the rental price. We rented a trailer privately, no issues with it. The owner was great and and it was clean and suited us perfectly. The park is HUGE and just filled with a mass sea of humanity. Lots of partying all hours of the day. We visited during "slow season " and it was packed. I'd hate to see the place at peak season lol. If mini city vacations are your speed you'll love it. If you're looking for a laid back quiet vacation look elsewhere you wont find that there. Be prepared to navigate roadways filled with endless golf cart traffic and constant noise. It was an experience lol

Superb place to stay. Our cottages were newly renovated and it was worth the money spent. They have lot of fun activities inside. Swimming pool, hot water tub, play area, water park, slides, mini golf pit, and lot more. Getting a golf cart rental and driving thru this area is fun. Places is very nice and clean. beaches are serene. For sure we would be booking one more vacation out here. The staff is very helpful and polite.

Stayed there late last fall for 1 month. We lucked out with the weather. Such a great property…..for all ages. Pool and water park was open right up to the very last day of the season which was huge bonus. We found everyone so friendly from full-time time residents to staff. Highly recommend a golf cart. It’s a big resort and the kids loved it.

Great family resort for teenagers. There is a lot to do at this resort. Pros: well staffed, organized, firework on Sat night, Supermarket & LCBO, amazing beaches & great water slide park. Cliff jumping really fun by Quarrie pond. Cons: way too many Golf carts, the pools are too small.

What an amazing week spent with family, sun, beach & lots of fun!!! First time In Sherkston and the resort is awesome! Great accommodations (private cottage) & just an overall great time. The resort is gated and feels welcoming and safe with security always cruising around and making sure the young rebels don’t get out of hand. Our cottage was great and just right for our family of 5. They loved the golf cart rides everywhere :) The beach is super clean. A bit rocky at some spots and be careful of the waves (kids loved it though). Will definitely 100% looking to book next year!! So many great memories made! Thank you Sherkston!

Had a great weekend here, kids really enjoyed all the amenities. Big playgrounds for the Littles. Waterpark and beaches were all great to spend the day at. On site store actually wasn't price gougy, didn't end up running into town for anything. Deli counter had great wraps, sandwiches, and salads. Sites are nice and big with great views. Golf carts are definitely a must here, and recommend booking em well in advance. Will definitely be back!

Fun and fantastic if renting a cottage. Just dont rent 4 Gullivers Landing. Owner will make up reasons why she wont refund security even though we had pictures of everything and her fire pit area is very dangerous . Our grandkids loved it here, the beaches are fantastic, people were friendly and there is so much to do Get a golf cart and enjoy.the entire park. 4 stars for the park, no stars for owner we rented from.

If you've got a family this is a great place, especially for kids. There are tons of activities, many of them included with the price of admission (in our case, we rent yearly). Highly recommended!

Lakeview rental was great! Overpriced for what you get for sure, but I paid for the view. You can rent for cheaper for a non lake view. Booked a Mon-Friday to avoid the weekend crowds. Warning: gnats are a big problem especially near the lake. Keep doors closed at all times..

Had a blast this Canada Day 🇨🇦♥️ long weekend!! First time here. The cabins are GORG 💖💖💖 My boyfriend, family, and I sure enjoyed our stay here, sadly it was only 4 days, would love to spend a week or so next time! There’s A LOT to do and you can mobilize pretty much everywhere with the golf carts (which seem to be super trendy there lol). There’s the beaches, the lake, the pools, a waterpark, convenience store, cafe, bars, arcade, mini golf, food trucks, ice cream shop, etc. Trust me when I say you will definitely find something to do while you’re there ☺️👍🏼🏖 The staff was also pretty good whenever we had to interact with anyone for help, services, and such. Thanks for a fun, clean, chill environment; looking forward to my next visit!!

My wife and I rent here every summer with our two little boys. Fantastic getaway for a "staycation" with the family for a fraction of what you would pay going south somewhere. Beautiful beaches, lots of stuff for the kids to do, and everyone is very friendly. Highly recommend looking into visiting if you're looking for somewhere to go with the family. We love it so much it's in our plans to buy a place there in the near future.

Sherkston has very nice sandy beaches. They take after the seaweed so there is usually none on the beach. The waterpark usually takes a long time to get in due to covid. They make you line up to wait for the previous group to finish, which means you get a limited time in the pool area. It’s very expensive to rent for the weekend so if you are going to, be prepared to pay a pretty penny. Overall the experience at Sherkston at be very enjoyable. Golf carts are definitely a must have when going to the beach. (Especially if you have kids).

Sun Retreats Sherkston Shores rented cottage for weekend. Included an arcade, pools, minigolf, tennis courts, restaurants and various other attractions (not shown because i didnt bring phone to pool). Also had a lovely beach. The bunk beds were a bit small for my son (over 6 feet tall) so we gave him the master bed. Other than that it was great.

We went for 2 days and the cabin was great, we had a great time at the splashngo aventure game at the lagoon. The swimming pool water was cloudy and crowded, and the beach wasn't clean, it had lots of algae. I will suggest to management to invest more in this two places the swimming pool and the beach areas, other than that we have a great time.

Recommendation for Sun Outdoor. You should have an employee who escorts RV on their site, most luxury campgound offer this and is much appreciated. The garbage trucks could pick up much later than before 7:45 am in order to give the campers a chance to rest. You could also have a rule for the loud music on golf cart...couldn't have a phone call outside. Other than that, your park is beautiful and well maintained.

Good place. A little disappointed that the water slides and food trucks were limited times, it would have made it a 5 star experience otherwise. Cottage was nice and clean. Service from all staff was exceptional.

Lovely place to for a relaxing weekend, cottages are very nice and clean, lots of kids activities and the beaches are great, we rented a golf cart and it was so much fun, the beaches are pretty far so with kids it was the right option . Food was okay but we mostly cooked in our cottage so not a problem , overall a must place to visit.

Absolute family favourite, has everything you could want (albeit some of it has extra costs). Swimming pools were enjoyed by all, waterslides by the kids, hot tub for the adults absolutely great time. Choco bingo was a blast too.

I've been coming here for years. Sherkston is my happy place. However, it has changed a lot since COVID, and not for the better. They are getting greedy and expanding the park, but not expanding the amenities. Still an amazing place to visit, but I really miss the old Sherkston.

  • 3/5 Trinity M. 1 year ago on Google
Beautiful location, too many tourists, too many loud noises, too many people driving, there's more traffic in Sherkston Shores than there is on Front. St in Toronto, too many people driving around in golf carts. It's good if you want a party community, but not if you want to go to relax. The beach is absolutely stunning though, and the water is gorgeous.

Busy, expensive but super fun place. We stayed in Quarry Meadows this time and loved it. Make sure you have a golf cart and drive through this huge resort, its a great way to discover everything. Sunsets here are stunning, Papis food truck makes huge grilled cheese. Sadly our only drawback was the pool area. It was so busy, we didnt stay. I wouldnt recommend buying funplex passes in advance like we did. Due to how busy it was all week we wasted $113.00 . Check it out first, then buy passes .

We stayed here off peak season during weekdays Sept 5-9 so we got a good deal. Other good thing of off season is the resort is nice and quiet, no crowd. So we get to enjoy everything, with no line-ups or inconvenience. The down side is water park and some other fun activities are closed. But there're still many things for the kids to have fun: pool, hot tub, splash pad, minigolf, arcade game, skate park, sport courts, and the lake. The facilities are nice and clean. So is our cottage. Though it's a bit small for 6 people, it's fully equipped with most things you'd normally need including a full kitchen and central AC. I've never been to a "cottage" this much convenient. There's even a small supermarket with LCBO, laundry mart in the resort. The beaches are beautiful. Lovely sunset. We love how lake Erie's water is so warm, shallow and calm for our little ones. The resort IS large but we don't need a golf cart like most ppl say. My 6 & 9 year olds are okay with walking around to the pool area. My 70+ parents walk to every little corner of the resort and even complain that they're out of places to have their walks, LOL. The only thing that bothers me is the service. Or maybe I'm just too sensitive. I find it's very "white" here. The residents and staff are all white folks. We're probably the only non-white group during our stay. We have no problem with getting all the services we ask for. Nothing verbal, but I can always see that look sideways from the staff, and some residents as well. That's why I take a star off my rating. I know it's a bit harsh. I'd take half star off though if there's the option.
