This
is
not
the
sort
of
camping
experience
I'm
used
to....which
is
quiet,
remote,
maybe
a
little
rustic
or
primitive.
That
is
not
this.
On
the
weekend
we
were
there
(post
opening
of
the
Canadian
border
to
vaccinated
Americans,
to
finally
see
my
daughter
and
her
children)
the
place
was
packed.
And
busy.
And
the
golf
carts
(for
rent,
but
reserve
one
ahead
of
time,
they
run
out,
and
the
place
is
too
big
to
walk
it)
with
varying
skill
levels
of
their
drivers
(and
they're
not
supposed
to
be
underage,
but
I'm
not
convinced
that
that
was
well
enforced....but
like
I
said,
it
was
busy)
were
sometimes
a
hazard.
As
was
the
traffic,
generally.
And
people
are
loud,
and
the
campsites
quite
closely
packed.
Mind
you,
there's
lots
to
do
here.
Playgrounds,
splashpads,
mini-golf,
two
pools,
a
wading
pool
and
hot
tub
(closed,
for
now,
due
to
COVID,
I
don’t
doubt).
And
THREE
water
slides!
And
there’s
the
beach,
fresh
water
of
course
and
with
crystal-clear
water,
being
Lake
Erie...there
are
good
reasons
to
come.
There
are
still
COVID
protocols
being
observed.
The
pools
are
cleared
every
two
hours
for
cleaning...not
sure
what
needs
to
be
cleaned,
but
apparently
a
provincial
requirement,
and
if
you’re
not
an
“owner”,
access
to
them
is
limited...and
there
was
at
least
one
occasion
when
a
washroom
stall
was
in
need
of
tissue,
another
needing
urgent
maintenance
(I'll
spare
you
the
details).
And
the
resort
seems
to
do
everything...
timeshare,
rentals,
camp
sites
and
cabins,
and
the
place
is
sprawling.
It's
just
not
quite
my
cup
of
tea.
But
it's
a
great
place
for
the
kids,
and
as
I
said,
we
were
here
for
my
grandchildren,
who
really
had
a
good
time.
