I can't say enough about this park. A perfect distance to hike or run...in and out a total of 4 miles. It is between the Niagara river on one side and a wooded area on the other. Beautiful, quiet and at the end you are on a pier looking out at a distant view of Niagara falls.

Took an impromptu hiking trip with flip flops in the rain! It was a blast we saw a red squirrel, a toad, egrets or some aquatic bird, a blue herring and siren head. The trails were pretty flooded which made it more fun. It is a beautiful hike.

I would give it 5 stars. It's beautiful. It's just the number of ticks we brought home with us was a lot. I know that isn't the fault of anyone but it will make me hesitate heading out there again. Just take precautions. Wear long pants tucked into your socks and stay on the paths. We did NOT do those things so it was our fault, really.

One of our favorite kayaking spots. Not too long a trip with calm water. Crystal clear in spots. Cool birds. Frogs. Fish. Turtles. Lilypads. Flowers. Opens up to niagara river right near grass island. Current is strong out there so be ready

Great views and a relaxing spot. Stop here on the way up or down from the falls and grab a few pictures. Good trails and access to Grand Island Bridge.

As we moved, into unexplored reach; The velvety skyline, resembling clusters of silk. Above the thick mass, of strange dark tangles, medleys of colors & merry air. The walkable, bike-able, & skate-able, smooth steering pathways, with stops along the way_ A rest on the rocky island’s A bridge to a, Grand-green landscape~ Coiled thick tree trunks. The glimmer of the river, below a solid wall, of blue skies & floating rosettes of clouds. Through-onto, the last late gleam.

This was my first trip to Buckhorn and certainly not my last. Quite a few people riding bikes which was nice. Great view of the falls that I'm sure you've never seen before!

I’ve been fishing here for over 30 years. I learned to fish here and taught my daughter and nephews how to fish here. It remains an awesome spot to visit and see the natural side of Grand Island, NY

After driving past the park many times, we decided to take a bike ride around the area and stopped at Buckhorn State Park. The wooded trails were between 8 to 12 ft wide in most places. When you get to a break in the trailand get to see the water's edge, it's a beautiful sight. We took the trail all the way to the northernmost tip of the island. At the time, I was thinking about how I never thought I would have been at that spot. So glad that I made the trip with the family.

Went on a bike ride out to the end of the jetty in into the river. Can be crowded at times. The kayak launch is handy but often very muddy.
