My favorite fish store ever! So great that I’m typically there every weekend! Huge selection of healthy fish, plants, aquariums, stands, foods and everything else you need to feed your aquatic addiction or just to get started. Very good prices too!

Very big store with a big selection of fish, most fish tanks are well maintained and fish look healthy. Prices seem the same to most other stores in my area. I gave 3 stars because service here is definitely questionable, given ive only been here once and I haven't talked to all the staff but during my experience if I were trying to buy a fish I probably would've been in there for at least an hour. I didn't ask any questions but when I was waited on the kid seemed very young (looked 15 or younger) I just cant imagine someone this young having the experience necessary to advise anyone buying pets but I could be wrong i didn't ask. The other girl that was there when I went I only saw taking care of 1 customer during my whole visit which was about 30 min, she was also dressed very improperly for staff in a pet store.

Absolutely love the place but I, along with a few buds have not had the best experience with the staff. The owner has been rude on many occasions when we would just ask some simple questions or for some help. 5 stars for the place bit zero for the owner. Tommy Tucker is awesome every time we go there though. Shoutout to my man.

One of the best pet fish stores ever! Wide variety of both tropical and saltwater fish, plants, and invertebrates. Knowledgeable staff, animals are well taken care of.

We love the fish store, my family has been visiting since I was a young child and we continued to go every year. To get fish, food, tank decorations, and/or water plants. Even if you aren't in the market for new fish, it is still so fun to go and look at all the different fish and aquatic life. Of course patronizing it encouraged too.

You gotta go. I couldn't believe all of the types of fish, tanks, supplies, and more. From the outside you would never expect anything out of the ordinary.

The owner is very rude and is very snappy you ask him a question he gets rude, he answers the question to anybody who asks with a very rudely answer. I think he has a mental problem. Otherwise the fish are great high prices but just ok. Owner gets 0 stars, then again I will give him 1 star because of the mental condition.

I am very disappointed I went into to ask a question about why my tank is cloudy and I was rudely told that I am doing something wrong quote “if I look at all his tanks in the store there isn’t one tank that is cloudy and he doesn’t use anything to keep it from getting cloudy”. I should look at what I am doing wrong. He loudly expressed how he felt and made me feel very embarrassed. I told him I will never go there again and that I would let everyone know how rude he was. He then stated “that he was just trying to help”, which I feel being in customer service my whole life that is not how you help someone by making them feel like they shouldn’t have a tank if they don’t know what you are doing. I have purchased everything from this store and have never received very helpful customer service but I just thought that they were busy and then today when I was treated the way I was I will never go back again.

Good customer service, fun to just be inside the store observing. In the photos you will see the purchases I've made from this store and my resulting setup. Tetra tank is about 5 years old. Guppy tank about 3 weeks old.

I always enjoy their selection of fish. More choices then anywhere. Their supplies are very fairly priced. Although some staff is not knowledgeable.

My husband has been a patron here far longer than I have, but we both enjoy making the hour drive to come here for the freshwater fish. The owner is quite knowledgeable and full of tips and advice, which I personally appreciate. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable as well. We certainly will be returning customers.

Had a great visit to The Fish Place today. Katy helped me and she was awesome. As an intermediate planted tank aquarist I had several questions about water chemistry, as well as fish and snail species selection. She was able to answer all my questions and we had a great chat. Will definitely be returning.

Finally re-established my tank after the blizzard in 2022, such a nice large store and very well maintained. Staff are incredibly personable and experienced! They have a large selection of not only fish but also invertebrates and plants. Additionally they have a large selection of equipment, tanks, stands, anything you could need. Certainly the best aquarium store in buffalo!

Love this place they have a worker named Tommy he is very nice and patient. He answered all our questions and didn't try to rush us off which my husband and I really appreciated. The fish are taken really good care of. Will be returning to get more fish soon.

This place is amazing, so many choices. The staff members are very helpful. Great selection of fishes. Definitely, this will be our new fish store. I highly recommend it. I am very happy with our new fish.

It was my first time going to The Fish Place and when I say I am amazed, i truly mean it. Unlike the big chain pet supply stores the staff was incredibly knowledgeable and very helpful. I could tell by looking at the fish that they were happy and healthy very clean and taken care of. I was especially impressed by the fact that there were tanks that were marked *not for sale* meaning that fish are a true passion not just a profession and the selection was amazing fish i had not heard of and prices were very affordable. I will never go anywhere else again.

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They answered all of my questions and even helped move my new fish tank to my car. Love the general atmosphere of this place. Susie was particularly helpful, I learned a lot about fish care from her.

This was one of my favorite stores before today, one that I would seek out if I was anywhere near the area. But today, they were feeding the fish in the middle of the day. If I lived 10 or 15 minutes away, this would not be a problem. But if I were to buy any fish on this day, they would be in the bag for at least 30 hours. The waste accumulation in the bag would kill them long before that. I know this place knows that they get people from quite a distance away to their store, there is no reason that the fish should be fed before the store closes, which would give them a chance to clear their digestive tract before being bagged. Poor practice. I would have spent $100+ if I hadn't seen that today, instead I left without even finishing looking through the store. Fish fed once per day are more than well fed enough to be healthy. Been feeding once per day for decades and breeding fish that way. Constantly changing water in a small bag with water that won't be the water in their new home, and then adapting them to their new tank water just unnecessarily stresses the fish. Obviously, traveling with water from home is impractical. Doesn't it make sense to just make sure the water doesn't foul to begin with? And a store that is only concerned with adequately serving only 95% if its customers is one I don't want to give my money to anyway.

The only place to get any fish or supplies. Everyone that works there are very knowledgeable. They helped me get my tank all set up. Won’t go anywhere else

One of the most diverse selections of freshwater fish in pet store and great prices, among all the pet stores I've visited in the USA. Friendly service too!

Stopped by last week to get a look at the selection and find some fish I was interested in as I was looking to start a tank. The staff was really helpful (I didn’t catch his name but the man with the long ponytail was extremely knowledgeable and welcomed questions). After researching, setting up, and cycling my tank I went back to pick out my fish tonight and was helped out by the same man and a younger kid. Both were fantastic, giving me advice and again answering my questions about what size fish would be best for my set up, what types go well together, and how to best start a tank successfully in the first few weeks. My dad used to come here over a decade ago when he was big in the hobby and insisted I go here to start my first tank and I was not disappointed. I look forward to coming again to add to it once it’s more established!

Always a pleasure. Bought our tank from there and they were very helpful. Have always bought fish from them since. Also, at one point a few months ago our tank started to seep a little water, I called and they set up a replacement for free and took care of the warranty stuff for us. Amazing business. Always busy as well because they are the goat!

I have been coming to this store over the course of four years. I had a fish that died. I had purchased over $200 in fish not even three days ago. I don’t know what happened to the receipt but I didn’t have it so I called the store they told me it was not a problem if I brought a water sample which I did so today I went, and I did as they asked, and the gentleman who waited on me is the owner or the manager was extremely loud very verbally abusive made me feel like an idiot in front of every customer in the store and now as nice as their a fish and the years have been the gentleman has managed to thrill my business right down the tubes. I am insulted by how loud and how he would not even let me open my mouth without yelling , you really need some customer service skills, sir what a disappointment whatever you do, do not bring your fish back to these people
