You really need to speak Spanish to go around Nicaragua, and as an English teacher, Mario helped us tremendously. My husband and I, along with 2 of our friends, hired "Golden Tours Nicaragua" as our private transportation from Managua Airport to Granada, Granada to Ometepe Island, Ometepe Island to San Juan Del Sur, San Juan del Sur to León, then León to Managua. Mario & his friend, Justo, became our local drivers in Nicaragua. In Granada, we did a Sunrise Boat Tour at Las Isletas, spend the afternoon at Laguna de Apoyo, and we did a Sunset Tour at Masaya Volcano. It was magical, and we like that Mario took us to local restaurants to eat local Nicaraguan food, and we avoided large crowds of tourists because he knew where to go. In San Juan del Sur, Mario took us to a hiking tour combined with UTV, where we saw monkeys, sloths, birds, butterflies, iguanas, spiders, and learned more about the local flora & fauna. We also did a beach day in Playa Hermosa, which was truly unforgettable. Mario arranged all of our transportations, including the ones in Ometepe Island. When we encountered a problem on our first night, where the hotel refused to accommodate us, despite our confirmed booking, Mario helped us out so we're not stranded on the streets. He even offered to drive us to our hotel the next day, free of charge. He is very flexible and we're able to customize our trip and our itinerary based on what we want to do. Mario & Justo, thank you so much for making our trip so amazing and so unforgettable in Nicaragua. We miss you guys already. You became like our family in Nicaragua. Where do i begin. Mario made all the arrangements very easy. It was refreshing to have an honest efficient and trustworthy company. We went on a catamaran ride, jungle tour, made pottery and visited 10 different beaches. Heck my 70 year old husband even tried surfing. It’s not a matter of if but when I go back I will put my trust in this company and Mario. You’d be foolish not to let him take care of your needs.

After we decided to visit Nicaragua for our next holiday destination we informed ourselves on internet about all places to visit and to explore during our roundtrip through this beautiful country. In some Facebook groups about Nicaragua “Golden Tours Nicaragua” was mentioned several times. Mario Alberto Romero, is the owner of this small company and we read some fantastic reviews about him. Although we already made our own itinerary we decided to contact Mario by email to check if our travel plans were on the right track and if he had some recommendations and tips. He responded immediately and from that moment we were overwhelmed by his enthusiasm and knowledge about his country. We really like to explore ourselves but this time it was obvious Mario could help us a lot. To make a long story short, we decided to hire Mario as our private tour guide for our whole 10-day roundtrip. It was clear this decision would save us a lot of time because Mario simply knows where, when and how to go. Mario rented the car, drove as through the whole country, booked all our trips, showed us the most beautiful places, brought us to the best restaurants and made our trip simply unforgettable.
