We did the 2 day tour with Juan. Floated in the canyon for 5 hours, jumped from high rocks, took a boat, walked along the river and got everything we needed from him (dry bag for our stuff, shoes, life vest). Nice breakfast, lunch and dinner and a hike to the top of the canyon the next day. We also camped directly at the river in a big tent. Juan and the whole collective are really beautiful people. That was the best tour ever, thank you 🙂

Juan was so nice and I 100% recommend his tour of this canyon. He’s honestly just a really good and honest person and you can feel his sincerity and his kindness. He knew the canyon well and pointed out things I wouldn’t have noticed on my own like several bee hives high in the cliff (special for me as I worked as a beekeeper). I was also the only one so he catered the tour to fit my preferences and time limits. He was prepared and profesional in every way and I’m grateful to have done the tour with him. My husband and I did the middle-sized tour of 4h with Juan and it was a lot of fun and adventure!! He was super friendly and motivated, gave us waterproof bags and life jackets and always made sure we were feeling confortable throughout the whole tour. We had lunch at his sister's-in-law and it was delicious! The adventure is really worth it and by booking with Juan you support a local independent guide (he speaks Spanish and English) and many more people from his community. Totally recommend him!

It was such a great experience! Juan was extremely friendly and hostile and made us feel save all the way through the great adventure of our 4hour canyoning tour. We're so happy we went with him and not with one of the big companies. It is a good thing to know some little pieces of Spanish, to be able communicate further, but even with our little knowledge it worked out very well and we had an amazing experience! If we could give 10 stars, we would have done it. This should def. be in the top 3 list of things-to-do in Nicaragua. With Juan you can make a beautiful hike, climb and swim trough the canyon. The place is also great for adrenaline sports he like to host in the feature. About Juan in particular. Why everyone is so positive about him? He is extremely friendly, smiles a lot and is very welcoming. The biggest thing we dislike in Nic is the trash that's everywhere, also In the canyo. Juan took a big bag with him and collected it. He is one of the very few guides who actually cares and understand toerist like clean places..It's essential. We support Juan in all his feature plans to put this on the map. Give him a call! he wont dissapont you.

Juan was an incredible guide. Knowledgeable, professional, and put safety first. He is kind and caring. AND super bonus, If you ask nicely he may offer you lunch or breakfast before the tour at his humble home. It’s an experience almost as deep as the canyon. He’s not a tech guy so use WhatsApp to get a hold of him. The canyon is as good as the pictures suggest. And we had blue morpho butterflies over us all day. It was magical.

Canyoneering at Somoto was literally my favorite activity in Nicaragua. Juan was an excellent guide, and showed us all the best places to cliff jump. He was friendly and responsible, and had a great sense of humor. Highly recommended!

We had the best day with Juan! Our best experience in Nicaragua after 5 weeks of travelling. The Canon is unique in so many ways and absolutely breath taking. Juan knows a lot and loves to share his passion of the Canon with you! He also cleaned up all the plastic along the way, just because he cares about nature and the environment. A truly incredible person and awesome guide!! Looking forward staying in his guesthouse when we come back!!
