It's always good to know a country's history and origins. The displays were well laid out and the guide was knowledge

I came here on Mother's Day during the late morning and the museum was practically empty. Admission is only $5 and I ended up with an extremely knowledgeable employee who took me on a 90-min. guided tour of all the exhibits on the first floor. The museum focuses on pre-Colombian Nicaragua and art by contemporary Nicaraguan artists. Overall, it was time well spent and I really enjoyed the experience.

Beautiful building that is lit up at night. The interior can be visited. This requires a guide and costs. I only looked at the building from the outside. You should take a tour of the building.

This historic building has been transformed into a wonderful national museum, illustrating the natural history and art of Nicaragua. It was a fascinating place to visit and explore!

It used to be the building that housed the National Congress, with the senators or upper house and "diputados" or lower house. All this changed after the Sandinistas took over. Beautiful building always!

Its a cultural museum, has an archive of Nicaraguan artifacts exhibited and documents by requests, newspapers dating back to the late 1800s. Be prepared if you have to go to the restrooms, to have toilet paper in hand, you have to ask for the toilet paper at the front desk.

There is a lot of relevant history of El Salvador in that building. It is a good place for lovers of history and political events. When purchasing the ticket, you have to wait to form a large group to visit the different rooms with a guide who will enthusiastically narrate the events that took place there.

One of the best kept secrets in Managua. The National Museum offers a wonderful experience for $5 (if you are a foreigner) and serious discounts on weekends. There are various exhibits about Pre-Columbian life as well as contemporary art. If you like Pointillism you cannot miss the various Güegüense portraits using that technique.

The Palace of Culture is a neoclassical building located in Managua, capital of Nicaragua, in front of the southern side of the Republic Square or Revolution Square. It has basements and 3 floors. Its original name was National Palace. Until 1979 it hosted the National Congress, composed of the chambers of the Senate and deputies. Now it is a museum, newspaper library and national library.

Only 5$ but all the information is in Spanish so unless someone offers to guide you in English you might struggle to read information. Nevertheless fairly easy to follow and a lot of good artwork as well as old artefacts. I recommend you follow up by visiting the Museo Casa Sandino by the seafront which is only 5 Córdoba each and had some good old photos.

Excellent museum, surely the best in the country. Entry $5 for everyone (international, student, national, etc). Very knowledgeable staff who taught me so much. Great archaeological artifacts and also a great art collection. It's the national art museum too. And they even have one of the footprints from 6000bc that you can't see at the archaeological museum in Acahualinca (the Huellas) since it's closed. This is a must visit attraction in Managua

Biggest disappointment in Nicaragua - there is nothing and you even have to pay for it...

A nice place to take selfies and sit for a while to cool off in the shade, either alone or with friends.

    Rather formal palace, limited charm.
