Classic jazz and funk club with a dive bar feel. Would come back, especially when Out of Season is playing.

This is the worst place in whole Nice. The guard on the door bullied one of my girlfriends by pushing her inside the bar and punched a guy who tried to help her. Please, if someone is reading this, help us punish this psycho person and help people never experience the same pain she did tonight. If you see him you will easily recognize him. He is a complete freak and earlier that night he was being agreesive simply about going outside with a drink. The "manager"/bartender was so busy to make out with a girl that he didn't have the strength to do anything about it (the wish) and when the police came, they couldn't do anything about it because they needed an official complaint before they take an action.

The band (oldies by our visit) did a great job. The place was dark and rustic as expected. Small and cramped. The bartender was nice. The tables could be cleaned off faster.

Nice music, lively atmosphere. However the place gets absolutely jam packed so it's not possible to see the performers. Lovely performing though

Went to two gigs here and they were great, good acoustics, give ambience, good staff, great dog.

Such a fun bar! If you love live music, whether jazz, rock or whatever, then you’ll love Shapko. It’s also open later than just about every other bar in the old town, so it’s a perfect late night spot. Casual drinks at a good price, highly recommend.

Amazing live jazz music, nice how there are different bands playing. Lots of seating but server was very rude. Bartender said I don’t care and then had 2 shots behind the bar when I said it was my birthday😅

Live music at it's finest! If you go late (after 22h) you might need some luck in finding a seat but you can always stand with a drink. Always our choice to chill with good music.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Complete ignorant maniac doorman who gets off harassing girls and picking fights with customers like a 16 year old. Management is very protective of him and does absolutely nothing to solve the problem despite the dozens of complaints in other reviews. Complete disrespect for the people that come here to spend their money and just have a good time. Music is not worth the bad experience.

Extremely friendly and professional staff. My friend and I had no charge on our phones and the bartenders went above and beyond to make sure we found a taxi to get home.

They find such good bands to play there. Bar staff are good. Good venue with Mezzanine floor. this a great bar for dancing and meeting new people.

I still have no idea how we found the place. We were just wondering about the town and we heard some music in this random bar. We went in. It was 10 out of 10. Highly recommended go definitely and leave a tip, Beer is expensive but let's hope they give a c ut to the band

This is a hidden gem! Wine was a little expensive, about €10 per glass, but there was no cover charge. The band were incredible. Highly recommend if you're into jazz.

A must visit for live music lovers! I was recommended to go by the hostel receptionist ( who is local to Nice) and it did not disappoint. Enjoyed jazz until 10pm and a rock and roll band took over from 10:30.

Highly recommend for those who love jazz and want to let loose. The drinks were strong and the bartenders were very friendly. Make sure to get a loooong island ice tea to start off

Love this live music bar! Music played here is jazz, soul, RnB and hip hop. Always a great place to spend an evening. I highly recommend Wednesday and Thursday night. Really talented bands with spectacular vocal performers.

Got into this place without knowing what to expect. Heard some amazing jazz hiphop/jazz funk, a really cool venue and the band was so great

I alyways enjoyed my stay here, but the cocktail quality depends a lot on who the barkeeper is. One barkeeper with a mustache just pours everything in super sloppy and insanely quick while another barkeeper made the same cocktail pretty perfect with much more care in a different night.

Just had a great night here. Went in at 22:15 and bar was a bit dead with the band just turning up for their gig at 22:30. We got to choose our seats and had to wait for our g&t's as the tonic was being delivered. We paid and shortly after the tonic arrived. Arthur the barman really looked after us and we had a few more while we enjoyed the fabulous band Goldfinger. Hope to go back again before we leave.

Live bands are good. No service, you have to order at the bar and they dont have any food since COVID! Not 5 stars but friendly staff.

they play music from the 60s 🤌🏼 the dance floor is empty even if you ask to change the songs, the barmans do not want to work 🤷🏻‍♀️ go to love frequency!!!! They play super good and cool music and they are super nice

Don’t ever come to this bar. The bouncer is one hell of a aggressive wannabe mcgrecor. I was kicket out yesterday from club because of having too much fun. On the outside the bouncer attacked me. Pathetic mickey mouse. Now I am going to police station. Reply for the clubs answer: So that justifies the door man to punch me in the face?
