Lovely park in middle of Nice. Wonderful views of the whole city, the mountains and the ocean with a waterfall feature right below that you can walk up to. There were archaeological finds and history buffs would appreciate reading the placards. We didn’t explore much around the park though. Paths are wheelchair accessible, steep in some moments but completely manageable. There’s even a little cafe at the peak of the castle overlooking the city. It was a wonderful experience and I definitely recommend coming here a once in a life time experience.

Unbelievable view on the Old City, the Old Port, the whole of Nice. Excellent playground. Free admission. You can climb the stairs from the side of the Old City, that is quite difficult. Or you may climb from Old Port if you prefer a more gentle path. An artificial waterfall, beautiful views, ancient, excavations, lifelong impressions....

Panoramic view of the city, wonderful trails, on the top of the park there's a waterfall. It's majestic place. I really like the stair to get up there. I had the chance to see the sunset from Castle Hill and it was memorizing. Must go, if you are going to Nice.

The scenic walk up to the hill is refreshing, with charming pathways, and plenty of spots to pause and enjoy the surroundings. As I climbed up, the panoramic views of the city, the iconic coastline became breathtaking. I highly recommend to take this route and enjoy a peaceful moment of the French Riviera from this scenic viewpoint

Wonderful view point. You have to go all the way to the top on the stairs and see a wonderful panorama of the entire city. There is also a waterfall on the way. You can go back down on the other side of the mountain, it is a good place for a nice walk.

It is so pretty. If you are in Nice, this place is absolutely worth traveling to. The waterfall is beautiful and refreshing and the views are phenomenal. Walk around the nearby park and enjoy it. The stairs may feel long on the journey up, but are well worth it in my opinion

Beautiful view of the city, reviews said there is lift but I couldn’t find it. If you come from the #ilovenice then just go up the stairs. The waterfall is hard to find but it’s on the right side, just follow the water sound.

If you want great views of the coastline, this is a great place. Captures the city of Nice and the water in a stunning picture. Highly recommend. The elevator/lift is free to use, just walk inside off the street and follow the signs.

Amazing view on Nice, you must visit this place. Beware of the stairs to pass through before getting to the waterfall on the top. Overall, I really recommend this place to visit if you're in Nice. There's so much fresh air and the view you get from the top is simply stunning. And all of this is for free.

Beautiful views of the city at this point. A lot of stairs for the fit but well worth the climb. There are a number of lookouts, a waterfall and a little shop for food and beverages at the top.

It’s free! There’s an elevator you can take up or take the stairs, driveway up/flat surface where you can travel by a cute trolley train. This is a family friendly park, it’s huge up at the top with several different playgrounds for kids of all ages from toddlers to middle school. Lot’s of open space, sitting areas, views, outdoor cafe that serves, beer wine, sandwiches, burgers, ice cream. Toilets are .50€ or 1.50€ on a credit card. Very relaxing open space

This place offers great views of Nice with a nice park at the top. You can get there by road, stairs or lift. If you are near the beach you can easily miss the lift which is located just down underneath the stairs and it's free to use. There is a small cafe to get some refreshments at the top too that is fairly priced.

Views are otherworldly, especially in the morning and during sunset. The walk up to the top was magical. The cascade is great too. Fully recommended! Very easy plan for everybody around nice, won’t take more than 1h, and really worth it!

We went up to see Castle Hill during golden hour it's majestically to witness such beauty and you'll see the view of the city from the above. For people who wants to see Castle Hill but has a condition where they can't exert such effort there is a lift going up and down which we later found out when we're already up 🙈 Recommend to see the place.

Nice park on the mountain of the old fortress. You can take the elevator if you don’t want to climb the stairs. Nice views on Nice from the top. Also a playing ground and a snack bar. The park is also a nice place for a Picknick.

Beautiful park suitable for all ages, with something for everyone. Bit of a trek to get to from the promenade but well worth the climb. The highlight is the waterfall and viewpoint and this is the touristy section of the park. There's also an archaeological site in the park, along with cafes, play areas, and lovely greenery. Dogs are allowed too by the looks of it.

  • 5/5 Luke 1 year ago on Google
Amazing view from this hill lead to the water fall. You can see the whole promenade from here and even nice airport you can watch the planes land and take off. The view looks amazing great at sunset and highly recommend. There is a lift you can take so you don't have to take the steps.

  • 5/5 Michalina D. 1 year ago on Google
Great place to make a beautiful panorama of Nice! It is however really hot when you climb up all the flights of stairs. A lift is also available, though the line is really long.

  • 5/5 phuntsok_ D. 1 year ago on Google
Perfect panaromic view of Nice from the top of castle hill... Short trail to get on top, so many access to get on top of hill either from old city or beach... No entry fee. Pet friendly, kids friendly, parking spot available, public toilet need to pay though! Get on top of the hill and enjoy the great view of the 🏙️🌆

  • 5/5 Sigríður K. 1 year ago on Google
Well worth the effort to get to the top. A lot of people sweat on the way up, which justifies the cold one when you get there. Excellent facilities for a picnic and a good playground for the children. You can really spend part of the day and have a family picnic. Always able to take the elevator if lot to carry or healthoroblems. Archeology and history also fascinate. So don't miss it no matter what age you are.

  • 5/5 Sami J. 1 year ago on Google
Best views of Nice and beyond. Well worth a visit. It is free to take the lift up. You can also take the stairs and there is also car access. Ruins of the old castle at the top. There is a snack bar and play area for kids in a beautiful park setting.

  • 5/5 Juyeol R. 1 year ago on Google
Nice view from a high place is wonderful. Older people can have a hard time because there are stairs on the way up. If you come up, there is a nice park, so it's really good for a walk. And it's a wonderful place to see the beaches and ports of Nice. I think it would be good to take a book and take a break. Please note that there is a cafe where you can drink lightly at the top.

  • 4/5 Vic 11 months ago on Google
A lovely platform for amazing views across the town of Nice! There is a lift available however the stairs aren't too bad in cooler weather if your feeling fit. Multiple points to allow a breather and snap a photo view. Once at the top there's plenty of points to allow differing views, whether over the marina, the town, or the aqua blue seas and airport. Unfortunately the Waterfall was off for remedial works when there. However the Waterfall was seen at a distance the previous day so I'm sure a close up view would be lovely. A must visit if in Nice 👌

Colline du Chateau is like a big hill with amazing views of the sea. You can walk up there and see old castle bits, waterfalls, and nice gardens. It's a cool place to relax, have a picnic, or just enjoy the beautiful sights. It's a peaceful spot away from the busy city where you can take it easy and enjoy the scenery.

Beautiful view of the beach and brilliant blue and white of the ocean surf as well as the promenade and many notable buildings around Nice. The waterfall was closed when I went but it was still an awesome area full of views in nearly all directions.

The view of the city is simply magnificent, both on the Bay of Angels side and on the port side ... not to mention the mountain with the various mountains of the town (Boron, Alban ...). The ascent on foot allows you to keep a sporty foot but you can with the lift when you are lazy a little ... 4 stars worth 4.5 or more. Pop by the Saleya market in the morning & stock on yummy local specialties (socca, pissaladière, etc) then make your way up the hill for a picnic with a breathtaking view. There are a few different ways to get there: car (through the Montée Montfort), stairs (the ones next to the Promenade des Anglais also have an elevator - although it was closed when we visited in Jan 2021). The climb is steep and long, but totally worth it. At the top of the hill: a nice playground, gardens, an artificial cascade and beautiful mosaics from the 60's on the theme of The Odyssey. Although this is called Castle Hill, don't look for the castle, it was destroyed in the XVIIIth century. A must-see if you're in Nice and have a couple of hours ahead of you.

Beautiful view point. Pictures don’t do justice to it’s real beauty. Be prepared to walk up the never ending staircase to get there. But it’s worth it. It’s close to the pebbly and slightly rocky beaches right at the foot of this point. Recommended.

  • 5/5 Jie Bo T. 4 years ago on Google
Iconic view of Nice, must-see. Unfortunately, the opening hours aren't generous, so if you visit in the Summer months, you can't really catch the sun setting, but have the sun shining really brightly in front of your shots. So time your visit. The stairs aren't bad at all, perhaps just 5 minutes up.

One of the best place in Nice. When you go up to this hill - it's not only amazing view, fresh Cascade, good kid's ground but also some calme, space for everyone Good place to have a picnic on the grass. It ranges from the beautiful Promenade des Anglais to the Old Town with its bell towers, up to the horizon and see Antibes and the hills overlooking the bay des anges towards Cannes.
