Beautiful photography and explanation of how it was accomplished. A rather small museum but worth visiting.

Our first attempt to go to the museum was met with the fact they were setting up for an opening. Although the door was open and we were there prior to closing time - we were turned away. 2nd attempt- prior to our visit we had been shopping in the area. We had 2 bags and 2 clean rolled beach blankets. Keep in mind every other museum we have visited makes allowances for items by having lockers available or accepting items be placed in a specific area. We were rudely told we could not come in. - the woman behind the desk was arrogant and unpleasant. We will not be making a 3rd attempt. We’ve been to much higher quality museums and were kindly greeted. I felt as if we were imposing or bothersome- Never go places where you feel unwanted

Most unfriendly staff at the door. You really should feel ashamed on how u approach guests. You don’t understand what it means to show respect! Wednesday, 24.04 -11:50Am . Sorry but rethink the way how you treat people paying for your SERVICE!! What goes around comes back around.... never forget that.

(Translated by Google) Really rubbish ! In 5 minutes, it's over because there are only two rooms, it's expensive the room. I am disappointed to see that most of the museums dedicated to photography are so disappointing. Why do you pay € 10 for so little content, compared to all other types of museums ... I will stay on 500px next time and continue to buy books on the artists I like, there will be more photos. (Original) Vraiment nul !

Small and quaint museum, worth a visit if you already have a museum's pass, on its own it's a little lack luster

This photography museum is split into two places, and they have different exhibits throughout the year. When I went, it was based on the war photos by Christine Spengler, where you can see some of the photos she has risked her life taking from the 1970s onwards in places like Northern Ireland, Iran, Cambodia, Afghanistan, Vietnam, etc. The other one is by Michel Coen, showcasing greyscale photos from India taken in the 1990s. There's also a brilliant collection of cameras from the olden days that you can view. You can probably spend up to 15 minutes each to see all the displays :)

On the edge of the old town this little but nice museum should be visited. Currently showing an exhibition by Guy Bourdin, an avant-garde artist known for his advertising campaigns and Vogue covers. Worth seeing for everyone interested in gaining ideas and in advertising. Also worth seeing are the films "making of" within the exhibition.

Went three times to watch the documentary 'Salt of the Earth' The Images of the photography and combined quotes and it a lasting impression in my mind's eye forever. Check it out now! It will take you spiritually to a whole new level.

As always, an excellent exhibition. Unfortunately I missed the part in the adjacent building, because the staff were closing for a 20 minutes break at 1 o'clock. I didn't have time to wait, so I might go back another time.

Of moderate interest, regrettably... I’m sure there is more to the photographic history of Nice than this? Worth 15 min if you’re passing by; start with the temporary expo.

Small but nice. Current exhibit is by Jeffrey Conley called "Une ode à la nature", "An ode to nature". The exhibit is on 2 floors and includes black and white photographs taken in various locations around the world. This exhibit will not require huge time commitment so it's worth a visit if you're in the area.

Quite a modest museum, the temporary exhibitions I visited were very simple and the lighting was annoying as all lights reflected on the glass. The collection of old cameras is also presented in a very basic way. Hope the City of Nice will improve it.

A good quick stop for only 5 euros which is worthwhile if you want to check a museum off of your list and you enjoy photography. It is not that large of a museum so will probably only take thirty minutes to see it all, plus your ticket grants you access to the exhibit next door which is even smaller.

There is a Harcourt photos exposition and as a gift you get a black and white photo from a fancy photo boot. The second exposition from Moko Mad’moiselle is breathtaking.

Fantastic photographic library for any photography student. Managed to see the Harcourt Exhibition which was just brilliant, all the famous current and old stars of stage and screen in black and white with the magnificent Harcourt lighting.

Wonderful exposition of Nick Knight master photography

  • 4/5 Isabelle 2 years ago on Google
It was a fantastic exposition about the photography studio Harcourt. This is a well-known studio originated from Paris and you could see many portraits of famous french and international actors / artists. The entry costed only €5 per adult with a free portrait of yourself to take home (studio harcourt style) which was a nice touch.

Small gallery of photos of flower. If you like flowers, you'd like it! My daughter was expecting black-and-white photos of people, streets, places filled with deep emotion and ideas and she was deeply disappointed.

Meh! I'll give you a few more words about this museum. Nice building, good exhibit in the gallery at the time of our visit and a surprising 60s disco room. The museum is too small and it's just some photos Mr kazan took for fashion magazines...

A small museum with a good eye for a nice collection. When I entered they handed me a pass for two other galleries in different buildings on the same square. I enjoyed the black and white images, period pieces from the late 1940s and early 1950s. One of the things I love about photography is the way it captures a moment, and emotions of people throughout a larger scene. Recommend a visit.

When I was there in early October, the museum was closed to set up a new exhibition that will open on October 14th. But next door is a small gallery of the same museum that has a small exhibition on the marble of Carrara where I have recently been That exhibition is free

My husband and I came here as the first stop using the Nice musee pass. We were blown away by the photography of Robert Doisneau, which were mostly black and white. Also, coming from Los Angeles we were surprised to find he had a collection of work with Life magazine in Palm Springs, California, which is only a short drive from where we live. His POV and commentary on the city was interesting and amusing to us! We absolutely loved it. Definitely a must see stop with the ville de Nice / musees de Nice 4 jours pass if you have it!

(Translated by Google) The women at the reception couldn't stop moaning, unfriendly and lacking in discretion. She complained about customers before us instead of taking care of us. They could be heard complaining throughout the visit, which spoiled the pleasure of viewing the photo exhibit. Regarding the exhibition, the photos are interesting. There was no explanation. (Translated by Google) The gallery and the exhibition were superb, a pity that the interview with Jacques Borgetto was inaudible despite the 3 loud speakers. Indeed, the incessant dialogues of the women at the reception resounded strongly and we heard by the author. As the photos do not have many comments, it would have been better to put this presentation at the back of the room on the ground floor. Otherwise super expo and pleasant place. En effet, les dialogues incessants des femmes à l'accueil résonnaient fortement et on entendait par l'auteur.
