80 percent stroller accessible. You can go up the ramps to get in no problem, for 2022 it is 8 euros per adult. Cards accepted. There are numerous elevators in the building but there are still some small steps (3 to 5) to go up and down throughout the museum. The top floor has all the amazing Picasso art and levels 1 and 0 have mostly other artists stuff. Picasso actually spent time here which is very cool. The kids loved the pottery, the tapestry and the huge paintings. Not the biggest Picasso museum I've ever been to but it's got a good variety of art. Don't miss the terrace which let's you see out from the castle to the ocean. Gorgeous view with a lot of wind. Very clean bathrooms.

Definitely worth the trip to Antibes if you are on a Côte d'Azur trip. Not to mention the city itself is astoundingly pretty. The museum is very well-organised. It is beautifully situated on top of a hill with a charming view guaranteed. They exhibit important and rare Picasso's paintings we have never seen before. These collections are equipped with detailed information both in French and English. There is also one Rothko which was a good surprise. Would 100% recommend and would love to visit again.

This first museum dedicated to the famous Spanish Master, was known before that, as Chateau Grimaldi. In 1946, Picasso lived for a short while in the Palace that was built on a Greek fortress. Later, The impressive palace was dedicated to Picasso's works and renamed in his name. Picasso and his second wife donated to this museum nearly 245 works done by the artist. The museum consists of outdoor display terraces and indoor galleries. From the square in front of the museum, a mildly rising ramp leads to the outdoor terraces, which overlooks the Mediterranean. Admission fee: 8€ (Reduced: 6€) - 2021 prices

Good museum, interesting part of Picasso. Lot of visitors, who are not familiar with Art-museums. Means: lot of walking around, standing infront of pictures and groups rushing by for example... Although recommendable!

You can take a train from nice to Antibes. Its just a few hours ride. I came here to visit Picasso museum, this is also a place he had lived before. Such a beautiful place! The house is just next to the Mediterranean and near a port. So much sunshine all year round. In the end, i explore the surrounding places and the port.

Love the ambiance of this Museum/ gallery. Well curated collection of artworks by Pablo Picaso. Housed in a villa located beautifully at Cote di Azure, Antibes. Sculptures along the wall facing the sea. It is a one magical experience for an art lover. Tickets could be purchased from entrace for €8. Even on a holiday, it was not crowded, no long queues. Staff at the security, ticket counter and book shop were all friendly and helpful.

We had a wonderful visit at the Musée Picasso. It is mind boggling how many original Picasso works are on display in this one location. It may not see that big upon entry, but it is cavernous with many viewing rooms and a beautiful outdoor terrace. The works are accompanied with descriptions and stories published in both French and English which was very nice as you gained a deeper appreciation of the piece after reading more about how it came to be.

The museum is one of the kind. Even Gugenheim museum can't stand in front of this one. Perfectly organized, it shows the whole Picasso's life and work. If you can feel it, you can simply blend in that warm and extravagant vibe, and forget about the time. Date taken: the August, 2015 P.S. I remember one dark stylish girl while being in this museum, so I am pretty sure she is in one of these pictures. Best regards to her.

Great Picasso 3 story stone museum showing many of his works after 1946 and created in this building - plus some other artists' works from the same period. It's in an excellent location the Garibaldi Castle on the waterfront and the 3 floors are accessible by stairs. Luckily, there is a glass elevator for those of us with creaky bones. (But you will be sharing it with the crying baby in a stroller crowd . . . ) Take some extra time outside on the terrace too. The sculptures & gardens are well suited for each other. Many of us plan trips like ours around museums of this quality.

Definitely worth visiting if you like art! Located in old Antibes downtown and overlooking the Mediterranean, the museum is housed in the Grimaldi villa and currently exhibits Picasso's last period of work (1969-1973) Very spacious and well curated. Cost is €8, the museum is open from 10AM to 1PM and from 2PM to 6PM.

A really nice museum. Picasso's works are only on the last level and from his later years only, but still a nice exposition. A big plus is the accessibility, we could go to all levels using an elevator, which was very helpful for us.

Not a big fan of museums in general but it was in fact fun to see some works of Picasso in real life. It wasn't vary expensive at all so if you're interested in art it's definitely a good visit. the first floors are filled with works of other artists and the top one is dedicated to Picasso.

Intriguing collection of unique Picasso works from his time in Antibes during his six month stay in 1946, supplemented by additional Picasso pieces and photographs as well as contemporary art. For a bonus experience, take a dip in the sea at the nearby beach to swim wear Picasso presumably did.

Amazing, the museum is small. You can take around 1h and a half to visit all but if you really want to appreciate every detail you should take more. It's really interesting and you can even see Picasso's sketches. For me, that's quite nice.

Rude reception. They didn’t accept cards. Museum is ok, quite boring and repetitive exhibition until you reach Picasso section, it’s not worth it imo. Ironically the terrace view is the best part of it, it’s on the bottom floor.

We went to the Picasso Museum and saw some of his art; it was a quick viewing since cubism art is not a huge interest for us. Although, it was interesting to learn how many works he did, sometimes painting the same thing many many times but with little variations. Interesting to think of some of his works being so popular for art. Probably from sippin on that absinthe.

  • 3/5 Luca F. 4 months ago on Google
This museum features some of Picasso’s minor works. There are about 6 paintings all concentrated in a single room. The rest amounts to various sketches and drawings by the famous artist and other temporary exhibitions from less known artists. Picasso stayed in Antibes for a while and left some paintings to the city. Overall skippable

We live in Cannes and we had some guest visitors from the US, this is something they had on the list of their things to see. They were not disappointed. It's a great half day sightseeing trip, we loved the Museum and the Beautiful old town of Antibes. We spent half the morning in the museum, and the other half walking around and having a lovely lunch.

I think the museum could have done a better job of explaining which parts are dedicated to Picasso and which are showcasing other artists since hwne you first walk in it is NOT Picasso 's work that is displayed. That aside, what a wonderful experience to see dedicated works by the great. I still recommend a visit!

Very nice exhibition! A tip is to come around 12:30 when google says it’s closed - it isn’t! Therefore there was no queue at all and the space wasn’t that crowded. The gift shop was a disappointment though. A few postcards, posters from artist not even shown in the galley, kinda weird.

There are some of Picasso’s works during his staying in Antibes which are nice to see. Since I’m a huge fan, it’s a must. The Musee Picasso is in the seaside Chateau Grimaldi in the old town of Antibes. What a beautiful location. Do not miss the rooftop experience! Expect to spend an hour and a half! I didn’t want to leave! After the trip, make way to the beach which is couple of minutes down the street so pack all your beach accessories. For dinner head to Mamo! Picasso spent a year in Antibes using the 2nd floor of this magnificent chateau as his workshop, and at the end of that year gave several important works to the city, including 44 drawings and 23 paintings! 🎨👨🏻‍🎨🇫🇷
