We stayed at this hotel for about a week and initially liked it, but a compounding list of problems kept building up. The good: * The location is one block off of the Promenade and easy walking distance to most everything in Nice. * The room was clean and the bathroom decently sized. The bad: * The wifi would only occasionally work in our top-floor room. The hotel was unable to solve this during the entire week, even after I tried to point them to the exact access point having issues. We ended up having to sit in the lobby to have working internet. * The staff refused to replace a duvet cover that got dirty. * The room would get very musty after housekeeping cleaned up. They opened the window to help, but was still unpleasant if we came back to the room soon after. So when both room keys were deactivated, we decided we had had enough and booked a different hotel for our last night in Nice.

Really disappointed with our stay here. Booked a 3 night stay for June 2023. When we arrived our room was pretty cramped with the bathroom and bed basically touching. The photos of the room online are deceiving, it seemed like a boutique style room with comfortable space and accommodations. In reality, it’s a crowded space that is in need of renovations. The deadbolt lock to our room was broken and there was no comforter on the bed. Only a top sheet. When we went down to the front desk the next morning to mention these two issues the staff seemed very confused and not at all concerned that we didn’t have a working lock during our first nights stay. When we returned to our room later we found there was a comforter placed in our room, meaning the first night we slept with just a sheet… the lock was still broken. The staff seemed annoyed and inconvenienced both times we brought up the issue with the lock, both during our stay and at checkout. For the price we paid for 3 nights (942 euros) we would’ve expected a lot better in at least the customer service response to the issues with our room.

The location is just perfect! Close to the beach. The staff were so kind. They gave us water for our trip, asked if we need help with the luggage, called a taxi for us and even gave us a late check out free of charge as we had a baby and many suitcases and our train was booked for 6 PM. Thank you! We will definitely come back to this hotel..

Location was great; short walk from tram station and only two blocks to the beach. Many great restaurant nearby. Room was just renowated and very clean and tidy. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was simple as it is in France. Highly recommended! Cozy atmosphere!

Excellent stay - friendly staff and also went out of their way to recommend restaurants for us. The breakfast was also yummy and good to have on the first morning we were there and last before getting our flight home! The location of the hotel is in a fantastic location close to the sea front. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Location is really fantastic - it is within short walking distance to the main restaurant streets and also to the old town. There is also a supermarket nearby. The staff are very helpful and friendly as well and they speak fluent English. I ran into an issue with one of my luggage locks and the staff went out of their way to help me resolve it. I am really very thankful for that as it could have totally screwed my holiday! The room is small but adequate. Beds are comfy and the shower works well (good water pressure!). The room I have faces the neighboring building so there is not much of a view but that is fine... we didn't go to Nice to stay in the hotel to admire the view :) Paid parking (Massena Palace) is available a very short walk away. The entrance of the carpark is narrow but just go slow and it should not be a problem to get your car through unscathed. Parking is pricey but that is expected for the location. The hotel has a parking pass available for about $23 euros per day - you just need to stop by the hotel to pick up the pass before going into the carpark. And you need to stop by the hotel at the end of the stay to drop off the pass. For us, we did some calculations and found that it did not make much difference whether we get the hotel's pass or pay directly for the parking, hence we ended up not using the pass. So do your own diligence to see whether you need the hotel pass (based on your own schedule of when you will use the car). I have attached a photo of the parking charges below for your reference.

My sister and I LOVED this beautiful hotel! The location was perfect for us. We walked everywhere -- along the Promenade des Englais, to Old Nice, to the Castle Hill...and we are in our 70s! Just a very convenient location near lots of restaurants and shops. The room was lovely -- comfortable and cool. We also used our private courtyard a lot -- both for coffee in the morning and wine in the evening! We highly recommend the breakfast -- it was well worth the small fee. And the honor bar had a good variety of wines, which we took advantage of after a long day of walking! Certainly a great choice for us! We highly recommend!

One of the rarest hotels in Nice that has a soul! Beautifully decorated, cosy, impeccably clean and comfortable! Wonderful and caring staff that will take care of you during the whole stay, also they are very knowledgeable so don't hesitate to ask them for any tips about your travel! Thank you Baptiste, Fabrizio, Olga,Iryna,Adam and Souhil for your hospitality! It's also very central so you can explore the city by foot , and very safe to walk around by night. Breakfast is a buffet with a lot of choice that you can take in their gorgeous lounge or beautiful terrasse. And they have a honesty bar concept which makes you feel just like home! This feeling you won't get in many hotels in the French Riviera. Highly recommend it to every traveller! Definitely will be back, thank you Hotel de France!

This was a lovely small hotel located very central and close to the Nice beach walk. The rooms were a little small, but the location of the hotel together with the lovely staff really made the stay a nice experience.

This was a great find, location is excellent. 5 minute walk from nearest tram direct from airport (20 minute journey €1.50) 2 minutes walk to the beach and excellent restaurants starting from the moment you leave the hotel. Quieter and more local places as you start continuing in size and capacity as you continue towards the centre. Very accommodating and friendly staff definitely worth a visit.

The front desk staff and breakfast staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I’d definitely recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a place to stay that’s in a location that’s walking distance to popular spots in Nice. The service though is what really separates this hotel from others—everyone we encountered were amazing.

We had a nice stay here w spacious room, excellent staff, perfect location. Some street noise at night which gave character to the event. Nice little patio upstairs.

Me and my sisters just came back from a quick 3 day trip to Nice , the hotel has the best location ever, nice clean and tidy with everything you need! The staff were so friendly and helpful, love the little terrace and the breakfast area! Amazing extra touch was the macaroons that were waiting for us on arrival and the extremely helpful email with all the info needed- how to travel around, even to the airport, recommendations for restaurants and bars to visit! Thank you

The Hotel de France is a warm and welcoming place to stay. They genuinely try to make you feel at home. It is a fabulous location, just a block or so from the Promenade Anglais. The room is well lit (one of my pet peeves) and fairly roomy. I highly recommend a stay here!

I haven’t stay in many hotels in France so maybe not in the position to judge. The hotel room is fine but not as nice as the photos. It is a very small facility. Our room is unfortunately on the ground and close to the road and no window can be opened (I think for safety reason). The staff are very nice and the location is excellent.

I had an incredible solo travel experience at Hotel de France in Nice, France, and I couldn't wait to share my positive review on TripAdvisor. Firstly, the hotel's location was absolutely fantastic. It's situated right in the heart of Nice, making it incredibly convenient to explore the city. I could easily stroll to the beach, the Promenade des Anglais, and countless restaurants and shops. The rooms at Hotel de France were not only very clean but also modern and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised by the contemporary design and amenities. It made my stay feel even more enjoyable and relaxing. What truly stood out during my stay was the exceptional service provided by the hotel staff. They went above and beyond to assist me when I left my wallet in the room. Their kindness and dedication were truly remarkable. They helped me navigate the process of recovering my wallet, and I can't thank them enough for their support. Baptiste, the hotel manager, is wonderful. Overall, my stay at Hotel de France was outstanding, thanks to its fantastic location, modern rooms, and the exceptional service provided by the staff. I would highly recommend this hotel to any traveler visiting Nice, and I'll definitely be returning on my next solo adventure.

Baptiste and his team were very friendly and gave us super useful information! Definitely I recommend it and for sure I hope to return in the future.

Due to an Airbnb disaster, I found myself in need of a room for a night. Based on their excellent reviews, I took an Uber to Hotel de France. The receptionist was very sympathetic and was able to book me into a room at a very reasonable price. Unlike the Airbnb I had booked, the hotel room was spotless, and I was able to get a great night’s sleep. Upon check-out, I was greeted by Baptiste, a friendly Directeur, who was genuinely interested in the quality of my stay, and invited me back should I need any additional accommodations while in Nice. I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel de France!

I've traveled my entire life and can honestly say that hands down, they had the most memorable 5 star customer service. The two front desk receptionist were outstanding! The rooms were clean and well equipped with everything we needed including towels and body wash / shampoo (from Fragonard..bonus!). This is in no way the hotel's fault but parking is a pickle. The parking garage is conveniently within a minute away. There are also great restaurants and a few good bakeries near by. Ask about extra services! They washed our laundry and returned it the following day. We also took advantage of leaving our luggage while we walked the boardwalk, even after check out. Nice touch! I'd definitely stay again!

The location of the hotel was fantastic. The front office staff were just wonderful. However, room service was disappointing; they did not come in to clean till 5 which was too late, so we had to decline their service. The room’s size and furnishing were really bad. The rooms were inhumanely small. We got the “family” room which is really just a label. There were two spaces, yes, but the spaces were too small, you can only take one step out of your bed. The closet space was not even functional; we kept our clothes in the suitcases. Many improvements with design could help these rooms. The bathroom was tiny with very little space to place anything. Definitely need some interior designer with ideas to furnish small spaces for functionality.

I had a great stay at hotel de France. The staff was incredibly helpful and courteous. They also gave me a mifi to use while I was staying with them which was super helpful. The morning breakfast was great and the location was central to walk to many places.

Spent almost 5 days here and had an extremely comfortable stay. The room was clean, the staff were friendly and it was well-located. Felt extremely at home. Had a slight issue with the toilet that was quickly rectified and a free breakfast given.

Such a convenient location in Nice! There are many restaurants and bakeries just a few min away. Two blocks from the beach, quick 5-10 min walk to the tram station, about 15 min to train station. We loved the location. The best part is they give you pocket wifi! We came from the US and not everyone had phone service but with the pocket wifi it worked perfectly (but only in France, it did not work when we took the train to Monaco or Italy). Rooms were small but that was expected in Europe, they were very clean. We would come back to this hotel the next time we come to Nice!

I became covered in what the pharmacist said were Bedbug bites after sleeping in my room at this hotel, and am still covered in welts. In addition the air conditioning was so loud we could not sleep. When we discussed with the hotel it did not offer any compensation and denied the problem with bugs.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel De France. The hotel is very charming and quaint. Not only was the location perfect but Adam, Maria, Elena and the rest of the staff were exceptional. They helped us with whatever we needed. The terrace is a great spot for a drink/snack if you don’t feel like going out. The portable personal WiFi they gave us was a huge plus since we didn’t have cell service.

We a had great 2-night stay at the Hotel de France. What we liked: + Great location close to the city center and just a few meters away from beachfront (with a discount for blue beach) + Friendly staff and we even got a free water on the departure day + Good breakfast with freshly juiced orange juice and delicious baguette. Only the cheese options could be better for being in France + Discounted parking at a parking space close by that allows entering and leaving the space + Wifi works very good via a small wifi device What could have been better: - Not too much but the rooms very really small (which we were aware of before so less of a problem) but for hygienic reasons I would not put carpets everywhere especially considering that the hotel is dog friendly

Their team is wow! Especially Kevin and Irina, It's a 3 stars hotel but their service looks like 4 stars. However, their hygienic level is below my expectations
