Photos do not represent your actual rooms. We had no hot water the evening we arrived and reception didn’t bother to tell us the thermostat was broken. My partner checked with other guests at breakfast the following morning if they had hot water. Only 2 of the 10 guests said their water was hot. Of course we told reception, they said they have issues with the thermostat. Two days later, another cold shower. We leave tomorrow thank goodness. Fix your hot water Hotel Monsigny. Guests shouldn’t arrive after travelling 8hrs and have a cold shower. Not acceptable. Guest should be compensated for the inconvenience. 50% refund on the accomodation is the least you can offer guests when you are making them have cold showers. Fortunately your room service staff keep the rooms clean and tidy which is why I gave three stars for service. Bathrooms need somewhere to hang towels. Two hooks is ridiculous for two bath towels. Showers needs a screen so the whole bathroom doesn’t become wet.

One Star is very generous for the one Star hotel that is very dirty, there's no fridge in the rooms, the room ceiling where breakfast is served, is full of little flies, breakfast variety was ok but milk had expired, it smelled really bad. We ended up eating breakfast out, even though we had paid for it.

We were really looking forward to our stay at the Monsigny but sadly was let down. On first approach the hotel looked clean & staff appeared to be friendly & easy to approach. By the first evening we were very disappointed, we were on the 6th floor directly under the roof top Terrance which is also open to the public the music was very loud & being played until midnight, we were unable to close our window properly because it wouldn’t lock because it just wouldn’t stretch enough across the whole width so it meant we were unable to drown out the noise ( luckily I had teenage children with me & not young climbing children as the bed is directly under the window, this could be very dangerous ). There was not a separate exit for the public guest to exit however instead they very loudly came through pass all the rooms on level 6 to exit the hotel from via the lift anything between 00:00 -00:45 banging, crashing, making all the noise possible. When I went down stairs to ask if we could be moved I was told there was no solution because the hotel was full and I was told there are paying guests on roof top terrace, I had paid a lot of money to stay at this hotel to be able to sleep at night but this did not matter as much as their public guest paying to drink! Maybe they should consider being a bar & not a hotel. I have photos of exposed electric's in the bathroom too. On arrival I was told it was just bed & no breakfast which was incorrect, I showed them the paper work to show we had paid for breakfast & was told that would be corrected. We only ate for two days of breakfast because sadly it wasn’t very nice & instead I had to go out 4 of the mornings to buy food from a local patisserie across the road. On leaving the hotel they tried charging me for the breakfast we did have and told us we were not entitled to breakfast, I had to go back through my paper work to show that it was in fact paid for although only used twice. Overall our first visit to Nice which is just beautiful was lovely but let down by our choice of hotel.

The 3* rating is generous. Whilst the receptionists and servers are warm and helpful the hotel lacks quality. It seems have recently been refurbished. However, this was not done to a high standard. The rooms were clean but impractical. There were no hooks readily available to you, hang items, such as your rucksack, handbag or jacket. There was only one hook in the bathroom to hang up a towel. The AC in our room did not work, therefore, in the spring, the room was unseasonably hot which disrupted our sleep. We therefore slept with the balcony door open. However, the main road traffic and trams were not ideal. There was only one plug in the room, and whilst we were provided an extension cable, this was on the other side of the room to the bedside tables, which was inconvenient. The bathroom was very cramped and the shower area had no curtain which would be fine if the toilet was not so close therefore the whole bathroom ended up soaking wet. There are no shelves to put your clothes on. No tea or coffee making facilities or mini fridge. Breakfast hours were reasonable and long however, if it got busy, the servers was slow to replenish the hot food items. There is a limited selection of hot food; scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages. There was a continental cold selection, some fruit salad and yoghurts. Pastries were miniature. The French bread was lovely as was the fresh orange juice. The location was good, a short walk to the tram with some nice restaurants and patisserie in the surrounding area close by. On Saturday, there is a morning market right outside the hotel. The train station to catch a train for a day trip to Monaco or Cannes is about 12 minutes walk away. We found it easy to get the tram to, and from the airport.

Hotel is nice but their rooftop service mentality is awful! They won’t let you sit on a comfortable couch because later they may have a bigger group that arrives. We paid a lot for the hotel room but their staff are pretty awful for not being nice, friendly and accommodating on where their customers want to sit and relax for a short while. Even told them we were happy to move seats once their 12 available couches started filling up. They were unprofessional and didn’t listen to common sense.

I booked a room for my grandparents for the weekend. They loved it! I personally loved the restaurant experience because the food was really good as well as their desserts ! 😊 The staff are very friendly, always there for assistance and they love just having a chat! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - definitely recommend !

Easy to reach, just some minutes walk from the train Station. The staff are nice and the hotel is clean.

Wonderful place with really friendly staff. Room was clean. Parking is offsite in paid public lot, and it’s pretty expensive, but that doesn’t really reflect upon the hotel. We had a nice stay with daily breakfast buffet.

I was so anxious as I had lost my keys to open the lock on my suitcase however George pulled through and broke it, also shout out to the manager who also helped me aswell , i will forever be grateful to them! Recommend this hotel ,they didn't give up on me and all the staff were so lovely. The beds were comfortable and the aircon was good. It's in a prime location, very close to the train station and old town, there is a kfc nearby and omg it is so delicious, if you ever go to Nice eat the kfc near the station.

Long story short: They gave the key card to my room to someone else. The other person entered my room while I was on the toilet. As a girl, traveling alone I was terrified. Behavior like this is incredibly reckless and puts customers in danger. When I confronted the front desk they barely reacted and didn't even apologize. The next day my key card didn't work. I couldn't open my own door. The location, the building, facilities, etc. are all great so it's a shame the employees are incompetent. (An exception are the maids who are all incredibly nice and great at their job.)

Okay hotel! Central hotel near the tram, city and the beach. Room with balcony towards avenue was nice! It was small with hard beds and pilliows. Good and helpful reception (customer) desk The cleaning of the room was not so good and the breakfast was okay, not s big happening, the breskfast room had big furnitures and it felt very small.

Lovely 7 day stay at Hotel Monsigny! Highly recommend!! The rooms are beautifully decorated and are very clean! Also, we had fresh bedding and towels every single day which was great!! You do tend to hear some noise from the road, however I did not find that this disturbed my sleep in anyway. Also, the hotel is very well located. You have many shops and transport links right on your doorstep and it is just a short walk to the beach. The breakfast area is also beautifully decorated and kept very clean. However, the area is only small, so you need to be up rather early if you don't want to struggle finding a table. Options for breakfast are very good, there is a good variety of hot and cold foods to choose from. We were informed upon arrival that hotel guests receive 15% off at their restaurant which we thought was such a lovely idea. However, we noticed a sign in the lift about a reduced take out menu that was also available (15% off not included). We decided to try this one night after a very long day and were absolutely blown away with how delicious the food was!! It was presented on trays and had all the same accompaniments as the food in the restaurant! Would really recommend this option to other guests, its literally restaurant food in the comfort of your room!!! We did try the rooftop bar one night, too. While it is beautiful, we just felt that it was slightly expensive. However, once compared to other bars in the area, we did realise that the pricing was fairly standard for Nice. I would happily return to Hotel Monsigny if visiting Nice again and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a hotel in the area!

Friendly and helpful staff. Bedroom small , no shelves for clothes, bathroom flooded after each shower and no grab rail, slippy floor. The bed was very comfy ample pillows, but no tea/coffee making facilities. Coffee etc from machine in dining room 2 euros. Breakfast very good selection of hot and cold dishes.

Good place to stay when visiting Nice, breakfast great, room and other areas are clean. Parking is a bit hard to find, you have to drive over the side walk. Parking is not gated and accessible by everybody who walks along the street.

I stayed two times at Monsigny and I can say that it was overall a good experience. The rooms are not very spacious but clean and sunny, very comfortable bed. I appreciated an office corner where I could work on my laptop. Good breakfast with a variety of choice. The only thing to complain is that I had only one power socket in my room which was not very convenient as I have a lot of gadgets to change.

  • 2/5 Dick K. 1 year ago on Google
Not suitable for longer stay. If you consider so, you should be aware that the room will only be cleaned after six days I was told, although there is a label to ask cleaning which they only do in the middle of the afternoon. Very few electrical sockets which is a problem if you own more than one device. Sockets in bathroom only for American plugs. Tiny room by modern standards. No facility to make coffee or tea in the room. The restaurant is outsourced. Mainly pleasant service except for one arrogant garçon who refused to provide a spoon when asked for. ‘Use your fork’ was the rude answer. Roof terrace was closed during our 12 day stay; no compensation. But… great location, close to perfect tramway system.

Friendly and helpful staff, room was lovely and we enjoyed the breakfasts, a lot to choose from. The tram was just outside if we didn't fancy walking into the centre or back. We didn't use the roof top terrace, just went up to look, great views. We intend to go back, thank you.

The rooftop experience is great at this hotel. With beautiful panoramic views of Nice, including the mountains and the sea, you can sit in the jacuzzi and drink cocktails and relax. The evening offers music and mingling with specialty cocktails and tasty treats. Oh yeah, you don't have to be staying there to enjoy it.

Room was compact but comfortable, bathroom was clean, water pressure good. Air conditioning was a welcome feature. Staff were helpful and friendly. Elevator is quite small. Another nice feature is the rooftop bar with a small spa offering a nice view over the city

Pros: good price, great location to the city tram, comfortable enough bed. Cons: the rooftop needs a good renovation/cleaning plus hotel customers must order something from the bar to enjoy it. If you’re paying to stay at this hotel you should be able to sit on the rooftop without being told you need to order a drink. Also the shower water gets everywhere in the bathroom- don’t slip!

We made a reservation for the rooftop terrace, but although it was confirmed the staff could not find it. We were directed to a place, but again were removed after a few minutes. Not too good an experience.

Terrible service. Staff just not organised. The barman made excellent cocktails very professional

This is my second time here and the experience only gets better, the friendly team will go the extra mile. Placed in the centre of everything with a fabulous roof terrace restaurant. Can't wait to be back again. 🥂🏁💫. I would recommend this hotel to anyone you won't be disappointed. 5*
