I don’t recommend it at all ! Let me tell you why ! First we have paid 700e for 3 nights and it is supposed to be one of the best rooms and what we got : a bad quality room that has a bathroom inside the bedroom in other words there is no bathroom ! The shower is directly in the bedroom and you can’t take a shower because the water will be everywhere and you can’t enter with your shoes into the room because everything will get dirty ! Too expensive for nothing and too commercial ! Plus we accidentally booked an extra breakfast by mistake and they refused to cancel it... sadly, the breakfast is too commercial I don’t recommend, if you are looking for a healthy breakfast or french breakfast you will not find it here. A breakfast cost 15e. I recommande to get your breakfast for the best quality outside the hotel. to be honest the staff were nice but they got an unqualified manager. and be careful there is no swimming pool nor terrasse nor bar nor restaurant nor gym, nor rest guest nor library. The photos that they got, are not correct. be aware !

The Mercure Nice is an amazing hotel. It's steps away from the beach, with ocean views even on the city view room side. The hotel is right in the middle of it all, close to the markets, the old town, the Promenade. Breakfast was also quite nice, was able to get coffee, pastries, fruits and other breakfast items. Overall it was a wonderful location, I highly recommend.

Your hotel feels like a secondhome which means welcoming and safe - mainly due to the amable and dedicated reception staff. The cleaning is 100% and the breakfast room has all what you need. Beds are confortable and : very nice to find a bottle of water at your arrival and a note to get in the reception if anything you have forgotten… My room had windows to the big courtyard and noice-free. TV screen modern and a safe which is perfect. We were five people in three rooms and we long to come back here and to Nice.

The hotel is well situated steps away from the promenade on a one-way street full of restaurants and shopping. The rooms were clean and outdated and with the windows closed you cannot hear the noise outside. There is no air conditioning in the building. Even though it was cold outside, the rooms were so hot. It is best to have a room with a balcony so that the room can get some fresh air. The beds are comfortable. There is a coffee maker in the room. Extra sheets and towels are easy to get. The staff is professional. When it rains, the lobby has an awful smell. The hotel did not live up to my expectations of a Mercure hotel and I will not return.

Let's start: + location is very good + room was clean and cleaning staff work well + photo of room almost the true - everything in our room was unbelievable aged, everything was partly repainted and not so well. (lts not cheap hotel) - we booked special package for 60 Euro (like welcome with bottle champagne the booking text was you will feel like VIP on your arrival) and it's not happened. We came to our room and didn't find it. So we asked at Reception and they just said: aaa yes, we forgot! Finally they brought the bottle.

We got upgraded to a sea view room. That made me me give a 4 star. Staff is friendly and helpful. But that's about it. I was eligible for free breakfast during weekends but I wasn't informed. When I tried the breakfast for €19.90 I realised we have to take our own coffee, squeeze our own juices and even fry our own eggs! You basically shop for your breakfast and assemble your own meal. We decided to do the same next morning in the local grocery shop for $4.5. My question to the hotel: how do you justify $19.90 for breakfast if all you do is display the food and we cook, fry, juice, brew and toast our own breakfast. In the room we had coffee machine but no water (reason given is they save on plastic.. What about glass water bottles you refill?). No plastic in the garbage bin...anyway. They save on everything, especially the hospitality. Next is just a self service check-in.

Very well located hotel; right on the promenade des Anglais. The hotel definitely needs a refurbishment….part of it has started. Also it is a green hotel; no more plastic and it is a great move. There is no bar in the hotel. The breakfast is great. The staff is very nice as well.

Very bad smell, dirty floors and noisy sounds inside and out side the room. Front desk is not helpful. I had to find another hotel as I was unable to sleep or even use the hotel due to its bad mangment and cleanliness

Great location. Wonderful staff. Clean and 'nice' rooms ;-). Located right at the Promanade, walking distance to the Place Massenna, Old Town and the Castle Hill.

Mercure Nice les de Angais have thieves working for them. Great part, the management staff is there to protect them. I seldom write reviews, but this one... sure I was waiting for this to get over and review it. I had £200+ stolen from my room from my wallet. First day of my stay, I checked in to the hotel in afternoon and went out for a stroll at about 4-4:30 pm... leaving the room in perfect condition requiring no service, neither did I request for one. When I came back though, to my surprise found £200 missing from my wallet and foreign currency (SGD) put upside down. With a few other personal items missing (my spouse’s designer shades worth $400 etc). While confronting the front desk staff, about this misdemeanour, I got biggest lesson about French law. Anything stolen from the room “while unprotected and not in the safe” is not responsibility of hotel. The hotel or its staff can’t be liable for anything missing from the room. Except if it’s protected - “that’s what the safe is for” he said. The staff was rather unperturbed by my report and easily shrugged me away with my fault that I didn’t use the vault (no poetry intended). While I had no hopes of getting my money or other belongings back, when my spouse enquired about follow up action from front desk. The answer was - “we are checking with the lock manufacturer, who entered your room”, they didn’t really have a log of who entered my room while I was out. Now after reading this if you still would like to live here please keep your $1500 Tumi check in bag in the vault because you know what it won’t fit in the vault. And while someone will take that away, the hotel would stand by firmly relying on French law that protects thieves from anything outside of “the vault”. Nevertheless it’s a “valuable French law lesson I had at Mercure Nice des la angais”. Great sea view room by the way! Sic!

The rooms are very worn doen, and dirty. When you ask at the front desk you get a rude response, but they still offer you A different room which is equally dirty and old. Some of the staff is very friendly and helpfull, but the rude lady from before will ignore you mostly for the rest of your stay. The pictures do not depict the reality in this hotel, brown stains mark the carpets, there is some serious mold around the airco vent, and the bed linnen is yellowish. The shower completely soaks the floor of the whole bathroom, so you need some towels to acces is dry for the rest of the day. There is no area to have a drink or just sit, there is no pool, no gym (like some of the pictures suggest) and of you want some time outside of the room there is only one option to go downstairs. Please book somewhere else.

I found the hotel via the Internet. I looked at the photo, it seems, close to the beach and the prices are not bad for Nice. The hotel is very old, the rooms are not clean and small, breakfast is terrible. That the worst part is the brazen and rude staff. The cleaner broke our suitcase with the code, turned over all our things and stealed 300 euros! Neither the hotel manager nor the rest of the employees did anything, they don't have cameras on the floors to see who went into the room, they didn't share the list of who was cleaning that day either! We didn't even apologize and made us guilty of putting things in the safe, your problem. And the fact that my suitcase with the code was broken is a very problem with them! They contacted the police, but we had to leave, so we didn't fully understand! I don't recommend staying at this hotel ... for the same amount, there are a lot of very good hotels in the neighborhood!

Very happy with our stay, although could have been told about the rave that was happening across in the park lol 😆

It was good to see the sea right after leaving the hotel. The condition of the hotel was not bad, but the leather on the sofa was too old. The bathroom shower drain was blocked, so there was inconvenience until it was fixed. The view from the hotel is wonderful. Breakfast is similar to regular hotels, but the staff are very kind. I recommend you to come on a trip using public transportation.

Perfect location. It is well worth to pay more for unobscured view to the sea. Good selection of food breakfast. Comfortable beds!

Came for the Carnaval and were not disappointed. Super hotel on Promenade des Anglais. Reception staff very pleasant and extremely helpful. Rooms good and breakfast excellent.

A pleasant place to stay and very handy to the Promenade and beach. We found the sea facing room to be of average quality, most staff very nice and the breakfast room great. We liked to boil our own eggs at the egg station. The range of hot food was limited but it was fine by us.

The location was wonderful, but the room itself was outdated, dirty, and nothing like the pictures online. Carpets were stained, the shower was dirty, and the air conditioning did not work well. This was an expensive stay for a poor room. I do not recommend this hotel in Nice

Excellent location, kind staff, great breakfast restaurant with amazing view. However, the interior of the rooms is very tired and used. Despite, everything was clean. Great panorama from the sea view rooms (but noisy due to the street)

It is a perfect accommodation if you do not want hotel services. Nice rooms, fantastic location just by the sea. But they do not have a real bar or restaurant. Practically they only have a reception with 6 chairs and a breakfast room. Warning it has no swimming pool although some pictures indicating.

This is the worst Mercure and Accor Hotel I ever stayed in. Don't go here. The rooms are very small, oddly designed and tired. Dingyness everywhere. Expensive, but A/C didn't work for the first 3 days. We reported it quickly and no one showed up for two days. High spots? The staff were the nicest people who would do anything for you. Breakfast was excellent.... great variety of fresh fruit, hot items and pastries.

Rooms are extremely dated with stained carpets, cracking ceilings and dirty everything. Check in was supposed to be at 2pm and after arriving we were told to go for a walk and come back in an hour. At 3pm we returned and there was a lobby full of guests and no rooms ready. We waited two hours for our room and the staff were unapologetic, unfriendly and unwilling to offer anything as compensation. After a travel day since 5am this is just ridiculous. Pick a different hotel if you are coming to Nice

I have stayed at this hotel previously And on each occasion had a Superior Room with sea and garden view. These rooms are great. However after eyeing a Privilege room with sea front views and bed facing out to the ocean whilst walking past on past stay I decided I would “upgrade”. However the room we had, 224, fell far from my expectations. Bed was great, bathroom was great, views were M amazing. But it’s very tired. Chipped edging on desk, only one bottle of water provided for two guests, shabby fridge surround and very dangerous. The fridge surround has a metal edge which is exposed and leaning down to put something in the bin l caught my arm causing a deep scratch which will scar. Very disappointing, I would hate to think of a child staying in this room. The room wasn’t clean either, the remnants of a covid test under the bed from first day to day 4 checking out. Shame. Hotel is generally pleasant with a perfect location and views. I would stay there again but go back to superior room with garden and city view.
