We booked this hotel for a weekend and couldn't be happier. The location is great, close to the sea and the city center and it's still in a quiet area. The rooms are very nice, big and clean and we had some great view from the balconies. Reception was friendly and helpful with recommendations and breakfast was good as well. I have nothing bad to say and would stay here again anytime.

The hotel is just good. They're advertised as a 4 star and reviews give it a 4 star. However, there are 4 stars that are closer to 3 stars and 4 stars that are closer to 5 stars. This hotel seems more 3 star. I would say just book the 5 star or try another 4 star. Good appearance and solid location, convenient to transportation and the beach, but there's a lot to be left on the table. Staff is nice and helpful. Cleaning crew is friendly. Towels are hard and overused, wifi is slow, there was mold in the shower ceiling, tub had chipped spots and badly repaired. Balcony views since you're facing another building, residential and hotel hybrid, aren't worth the extra price unless you enjoy coffee or smoking. Beds were two beds joined together, not uncommon but I expect better from a 4 star in Nice.

Outstanding hotel. Rooms are a nice size and feel updated with a mini refrigerator to keep your wine purchase cool. Location could not be better. Out of the chaos of old town and in a beautiful, serene neighborhood. Is a 15 minute walk to Old Town or 5 min walk to the tram which will take you. A 10 minute walk to the larger train station for day trips outside Nice. There is a great market two blocks away, the sea is a five minute walk, and a nice set of restaurants and a wine bar all 5-10 minutes walking. Staff are warm and accommodating. I had another hotel booked for the second half of my stay in town and I decided to remain here for the comfort. Didn't book the breakfast so I can't speak to that.

We stayed here for a week and loved it. The breakfast was delicious, highly recommend it. Staff was so friendly, rooms were clean and look just like the photos. They even upgraded us at no extra charge and we had a balcony - would gladly stay here again.

We are very happy for our stay here! it was nice hotel, and the room was big. There had been some repairs some places that were not great, but in the overall it was good!

I stayed at this hotel for about 1 week and had a great experience overall. The staff at the front desk is helpful and speak multiple languages. Cleaning service was great and room was spacious. I didn’t spend much time inside the hotel (too many fun things to do in Nice!), but when I did, it was positive. Many people suggest staying in Old Nice, but I enjoyed this location and it is a nice walk to nearby attractions. I didn’t try the breakfast because in my opinion there are so many options nearby, but if you are in a rush then it might be worth it. My only suggestion for improvement is the bathroom. There was clear water damage on the ceiling and no fan to help reduce humidity after showering. I noticed after taking a bath that the paint bubbled up more. This is a health and safety hazard.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at your hotel. I found the front desk staff to be very friendly and accomodating. The breakfast area was well maintained, the food was very good, and your staff in that area was also very friendly. Our room was comfortable and pleasant. I will however advise you that you need to monitor your housekeeping activities. Specifically, one morning our room was cleaned, and since all the toilet paper was used up the previous evening and although we had none in the morning, the housekeeper did NOT provide us with any toilet paper! We had to ask for toilet paper!! Secondly, I ask you to please observe the bath tub ceramic tile area in the room we occupied (room 22). You will note that there is evidence of mold in various areas of the ceramic tile grout. This tells me that your staff does not clean the ceramic tile in the bath area. It was not something I would have expected in a hotel of your caliber. Thank you.

One of the best hotels we have been to. Customer service is top notch. Sylvie at the front desk is absolutely amazing, gave us the best recommendation and all the best places to see. The night shift was also amazing and very friendly. Very clean room with amazing balcony view. Ask for your breakfast in the bedroom and you won’t be disappointed. Also everything is walkable distance.

The hotel is in a great location, close to the Tramline to connect with the rest of the City & Airport...walking distance to the Prom (8mins) & places to eat, staff were excellent & so helpful with where to go & how to to get there (Akim & Sylvie)...only complaint was breakfast, 1st 2 mornings we had to ask for fresh scrambled eggs & bacon, which didn't come out together, so one would go cold whilst waiting the other, only on our last morning did everything come out hot, otherwise would recommend to family & friends to stay

Fantastic stay - cannot fault. Amazing breakfast and staff so accomodating ie, did not ask us to move seats even after breakfast had finished.

Hotel was located in a quiet area with fantastic access to restaurants and transport links. All the staff at Malmaison were friendly and helpful. The rooms were exceptionally clean and breakfast was fantastic. We highly recommend this hotel.

We have really enjoyed our stay at the Malmaison hotel. Quite unexpectedly, we have had a lovely view from our room; the staff are really very helpful (especially Anderson) and we have had a very good overall impression of this place. The hotel is quite central, so it's easy to get to the train station, tramway, beach and old town. And actually, a lot of people in Nice seemed very nice, so we would definitely consider coming back. Our best wishes to you, and thank you so much for a great holiday!

My favourite stay in Nice. Excellent breakfast, very helpful personnel. My bike gets a very nice treatment too ;-). Which is a nice bonus.

Amazing four night stay in the executive room! The reception always greeted us warmly and were keen to our questions. Slippers, aromatherapy shower pods and bathrobes were a nice touch. Housekeeping and cleanliness were top notch. However, sometimes tidiness would be inconsistent (ex. One night all our dirty cups were cleared while another they were neatly stacked by our coffee machine).

All workers were so nice but the room was the worst one during my stays in Nice. Ac has really bad smell and cleaning service came to my room at 15.20. The best surprising fact was really really slow wifi. You would be better to connect to other hotel wifi instead of la malmaison. If you stay here, you will wonder how is it four star hotel.

Excellent hotel situated within easy walking distance of main shopping and dining areas. Rooms were clean and staff were very friendly

Really really nice hotel, clean, vary spacious even for quite a basic room. Also, very cheap prices, especially for a short break. Ontop of that another reason why its cheaper is because its near EVERYTHING. Only travel you need to pay for is a taxi to and from the airport. However you can walk to restaurants, train station and the beach front. Tickets to Monaco were only €7 and it really doesn't cost loads to enjoy a day out unless you obviously intend to go out shopping. Again, the hotel felt safe and was pleasant all around with the staff also being attentive and kind. Would recommend!

Eva and Luis @ the front desk were the absolute best! The vibe was chill, and the lobby bar was 24hrs. The room was nice, beds were very comfortable. Shower was a bit small but on par with most hotels in the area. 10/10 would stay here again! Sad to say Eva is leaving in a few weeks, I'm sure she will be greatly missed!

The Hotel Malmaison is clean, centrally located and has charm but the thing that separates this hotel from the crowd is the service which is superior. From the time that we arrived, the staff went out of their way to assist us with parking our car, treated us to a glass of champagne and helped us with our baggage. The hotel has a very nice breakfast with much to choose from and you can request other items to be made for you if they are not already out. Unfamiliar with the area, we asked the ladies at the front desk to suggest some dinner options each night and they gave us some great options. They also very kindly suggested things to see while in the area. A few times we needed a cab and they accommodated with that and they also assisted us when we needed one additional hour at checkout. Although the hotel itself is slightly formal, we were made to feel right at home which was much appreciated since traveling can at times be a bit exhausting. I hope to visit Nice again and would certainly choose to stay at the Hotel Malmaison once more. Merci!

Disappointing Experience - booked for 3 nights but decided to shift elsewhere after the 1st night itself. Whilst the room was nice; the air-conditioning wasn't working which made it very hot & uncomfortable at night - the staff's solution was to open the windows but given the 1st floor location; there was enough traffic & people noise that disturbed our sleep nonetheless. Also, their service was a massive let down; while reserving the room, we were told of a parking contract with a nearby garage but they have none so we paid 28 Euros (we were told 10). And while checking out, the manager or reception staff didn't even bother to understand why were leaving early after a night itself. For the price they charge, we expected much more so a very avoidable hotel - you'll find better options for less in that area.

Just finished our stay here for our honeymoon. It wad by far the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. There is a free VOD service with the TV as well which wad a nice touch. I can't express how amazing the staff were at including that extra something to make our stay that much more memorable. I wish I got the name of the front desk woman with glasses as she was extremely hospitable and made sure everything was taken care of. The rooms also had this aromatherapy capsule replenished daily to add even more. I would stay here again in a heartbeat on a return trip.

Stayed here for 4 days in February and it was great. The rooms were large (especially coming from Paris) and the staff took great care in making sure it was cleaned daily. My room had a large balcony with a table and 2 chairs. They also provide toothbrushes and shaving kits on request at the reception. The only complaints I had were not any faults to the hotel; the first 2 nights that I was here the people next to me would speak loudly/yell til 2AM. It seems that this may be a one off instance and not a reoccurring theme with the people who stay here. Overall the staff took great care of me and made sure the rooms were clean.

It’s an overall pleasant hotel, and it’s conveniently located. The beds are however quite hard, so something to keep in mind. The staff was kind of mixed in the levels of friendliness, really depended on a person you got to speak to. It was also very quiet, which I enjoyed.

The hotel is very central and walking distance from the beach and the station. The staff are friendly and very willing to assist where possible and even phoned the taxi for me. Big variety for breakfast. Lovely clean room and also had my own balcony with street view. I had an wonderfull stay here. Value for money.

Great great choice. It is no surprise to witness the people who also chose to stay in this hotel are mostly upper mid class elegant couples. The rooms are nicely modeled and have quality fixtures. One tinies criticism is that there are very easy fixes that could be addressed such as paint touch ups here and there, entrance door appeal etc. But overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone and mostly to couples as one of the best stays in Nice. From Hotel management to front desk, from breakfast, to cleaning crew we thank them all. It is truly a home feeling. Try to get a room with balcony.

Great Location: 8 minute walk beach, 10 minutes from the train station, 5 from the tram which goes directly to/from the airport. 15-20 minute walk to the main action and Nice’s best restaurants, or you could get a tram which would take you there in less than 5. Cleanliness - everything was spotless, all the time. Staff - very friendly, polite and competent. Acted immediately on requests to a very high standard. Very knowledgeable about the local area. Room - perfect size, working a/c, has everything you need. Hotel lobby/facilities - calm inviting lobby. Staff were more than happy to secure our baggage in a locked baggage room. Purified water filter available to fill up your water bottles. On check out Beach - the hotel has partnered with blue beach (8 minute walk) and offers discounts on beachfront beach beds, parasols and towels.

Everything was good except for 1 incident. Most of the hotel guests visit the breakfast cafe area without masks which is alright as there is no rules and regulations stated mandatory mask wearing in cafe area. There are other guests also having breakfast at the same time as me but why am I the only guest being asked by the kitchen staff to use a mask when taking food from the food counters? I stay there for 9 nights for my business trip and I did not see other guests being asked to use a mask when taking food.

The staff - 100/5. The room was big and nice, almost 5/5, but the staff, cleanliness, very comfortable bed overly compansated. The location is really good, minutes walk from Promenade des Anglais. Overall, an excellent experience while I am looking forward to staying there again.

  • 5/5 Akshay K. 2 years ago on Google
Great location. Just by the waterfront. The quality of the room is 4/5 but it is more than covered up by the fact that that staff is 10/5. Very friendly, eager to help and they do everything they can to make your stay comfortable. Our check in was an hour early and the check out was also extended by 3 hours. They took care of every single thing we asked them for at the breakfast table. Small things like warming the milk specifically, but these are precisely the things that stay with you. Very good COVID hygiene at the property throughout. Overall a very nice all round experience.
