Castel
Plage,
new
and
improved,
but
at
a
price.
The
restaurant
has
been
upgraded
all
round.
Meal
quality
is
a
step
above
where
it
used
to
be
and
compared
to
the
rest
of
the
other
Nice
beach
restaurants,
the
decor
has
had
a
refresh,
the
service
staff
were
all
fast
and
efficient
professionals
(
average
on
our
last
visit
was
a
40
year
old
pro
guy
rather
than
20something
year
old
part-timer)
and
the
kitchen
was
humming.
The
lunch
service
was
running
like
an
impressive
well
oiled
machine
which
is
a
big
complement.
The
only
downside
with
the
new
positioning
was
price,
which
has
increased
significantly,
and
is
closer
to
Monaco/St
Tropez
beach
prices
now,
eg
mains
20-40,
pint
of
beer
11,
which
is
an
unwelcome
change
for
Nice.
2016.
Never
had
a
bad
meal
here.
Its
a
good
place
to
laze
the
day
away
on
a
chaise
lounge
or
come
for
a
beach-side
lunch.
As
its
at
the
end
of
the
beach
with
almost
a
small
cove,
the
sea
can
be
calmer
for
swimming.
