Reasonable Italian spot in a great location. Food was good but not excellent. It was very busy so the waiting staff took a long time to provide the bill but the food came out very quickly. The poke bowl was good. As was the truffle pasta. Tasty cocktails also.

Great restaurant with a wide variety of options. Specially for pizza and pasta. The service was quick and warm. Very recommendable.

Seriously I dont understand the overall rating of this place, I doubt the truffe pizza was made with real truffes, the pizza was not tasty at all, my bowl of salad was too oiled and the coffee oh my god was not even a coffee, more water than coffee. The bolognese was not tasty as well even if the portion was OK. The 2 good points: one waiter and the portion.

Only stopped in for an antipasti platter, but it was an excellent choice. Would definitely return; other dishes looked very appetizing too.

It was a very solid dinner spot. It’s in a very busy area and it was a Saturday night. This was the only spot that sat us without reservations. The truffle pasta was very a tasty and nutty. The spaghetti with shrimp was OK. The tartare was also very solid but not the best I’ve ever had. The service was excellent and the waitress was very attentive despite it being so busy.

We ordered the picante pizza which said it came with Italian sausage but was meatless and also the truffle pasta which only had tiny pieces of truffle and a LOT of mushroom. The food wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great.

The food was okey actually, not wow !!! Pizza was the best between all three plates we took, beside that the pasta was cold the first time and we asked them to change it but yet it wasn't super good with less truffle inside ! The terrace is really nice infront of the beach and worth it. Although the waiters are really good and helpful nothing to complain about here :)

We had the most unforgettable dining experience at Casa Laya, the Italian restaurant nestled along the beautiful coast of Nice. From the moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the charming atmosphere and the breathtaking views of the old Nice architecture. But what truly stole the show was the exceptional truffle pasta. It was a culinary masterpiece that left my taste buds dancing with delight. The rich, earthy aroma of truffles infused every bite, creating a symphony of flavors that I will never forget. The combination of delectable food and a backdrop of old Nice's architectural beauty made Casa Laya a dining experience like no other. I can't recommend this restaurant enough to anyone seeking a taste of Italian culinary excellence with a side of picturesque scenery. It's a true gem on the coast of Nice, and I can't wait to return.

You're seeking a classy place to enjoy your meal on the seaside and suddenly you stumble across this place. Not only enjoyable food and ambience awaits you on this little stop of your journey, but the service is top notch! Carla's Smile made our time at Casa Leya especially sweet.

enjoyed 2023 Christmas eve dinner at this busy cozy restaurant; quite a few restaurants closed on that night for obvious reason but Leya didn’t take advantage of this to hike its price, as holiday set menu was completely optional, a guest could choose from normal a la carte; left € for my waiter but it was absolutely voluntary, it was Christmas eve yet he worked very hard 👏 I’m not a fan of US tips culture but good service on holiday deserved applause.

Came here last night for dinner. Enjoy the view on the sea side rather than town. Was kindly offered both upon arrival by the staff. Went for a glass of rose Provence which went nicely with the bruschetta and pizza piquante . Which is essentially spicy salami. Nice thin crust not too heavy. Staff was chatty . Provided advice on options and gave you time to enjoy the view. No rush here. Which can be a good thing or not. Depending on your schedule 😗 Was offered a very nice little shot of vodka with pineapple and something else. Quite nice to finish off things.

The risotto with gambas was absolutely disgusting. It feels like the rise was cooked few days ago. Gambas had an unpleasant taste. Spaghetti bolognese was cooked with some sort of noodles - so it was overcooked and unpleasant to taste. The Cesar salad was served without tomatoes. The chicken seemed to be boiled in advance (it was cold and seemed not fresh). All in all the place does not deserve its high rate. It is not more than 3-.

So many positive reviews on here and sorry my experience was not as good. Service was good and restaurant decor was modern and fresh but the food was just not nice. It was all a bit bland and tasted like something I would cook at home (thats not a compliment). Salmon pasta was very watery and although I very much appreciate the chef creating me a plant based pasta dish, it really needed a bit more taste. Such a shame we chose Casa Leya for my last meal when visiting Nice.

Not sure this is 4.5 stars. Food was sub par. I ordered the sea bass fillet. It was overcooked and not delicate like a fish should be. Understandably, it was pretty busy, however don't sit customers at a table if it takes 15min to come to our table to just order drinks. I rather wait in line and get good service when good service is available. Maybe the service would be a bit better if it wasn't too busy...perhaps.

I was looking forward to eating at this restaurant based on the reviews — but not sure if I am missing something? 1) service was not the best — even though we saw tons of employees constantly moving, no one to help us unless we chased someone down. 2) the food is not bad but probably because it lacks all the flavor. We ordered the “truffle madness”. What is mad about it is that it does not taste like truffle at all. It honestly didn’t taste like anything! It was just BLAND. 3) both salt and pepper shakers were empty and had to ask 2 separate individuals to refill it 4) when asking for help to any employee, they just tell you “you need a waiter for that” instead of helping you call a waiter over Overall, I’d avoid this place and try another restaurant.

Stumbled into this gem after shopping at the Marché aux fleurs du Cours Saleya and what a treat! We were seated outside in back, the opposite side from the entrance and had a view of the Mediterranean as well as a breeze helped by wonderful fans!! We did not have to wait and had excellent mussels with frites, large prawn, cherry tomato and zucchini pasta( could have been a tad more al dente) , a margarita pizza, octopus and a lovely bottle of Pinot Grigio! The service was excellent and we appreciated our darling server who noticed me fanning myself ( after we were seated) and offered a table closer to the fan which was fantastic. Service was fast and very efficient. Thanks!!

Good location in the old town and near the beach, cosy vibe, nice decoration. Sea food pasta is good, mussels and Gnocchi were a bit plain. Waiters are nice but busy, we felt ignored when having to wait quite long for paying the bill.

Ordered the caesar salad and was not disappointed in the least. Portion was large, gave a really good amount of protein, and am very full after eating it. I also asked for dressing on the side, and the chef was very accommodating. The salad itself was splendid. The sun dried tomatoes added a nice punch of flavour, the almonds and bacon pieces added a nice crunch, and the lettuce was very fresh too. Service was also phenomenal, even though our waiter said his English was not very good, he tried his best and he was amazing. Super helpful and friendly. On top of all of that, the location was also right next to the beach. 10/10 experience and would do come here again if I am ever back in Nice.

Delicious food, big restaurant, incredibly kind waitstaff! It was my parents anniversary and I subtly told the waiter who decorated a dessert beautifully for us. They made a mistake with one order and put meat in it - when we alerted the team, they didn’t just take the meat out, but remade the whole dish. The food was so so tasty, and the price was amazing!!!! I highly recommend!

Usually it’s my top place to go in Old Town. The patrons , if I may call them that - the gentleman and the lady are fantastic . They were not there on a Sunday - the service was a disaster . I’ve been warned for the long wait before I was given a table - fair enough - didn’t mind the wait at all , thank you very much , was minding my own business. But in the meantime, the stale dry bread , dirty cutlery, the attitude of waiters and the wait to order a drink - not ok at all. I asked for olive oil & balsamic - I felt like I asked for something so annoying that the waiter banged the olive oil only on my table in such a bad form and loud that my appetite disappeared and it added to the discomfort. Will avoid the place when these boys are “on duty “

Absolute favorite restaurant in Nice! We stumbled upon it by chance last year - we didn't expect much as it is located in a touristy area, but we were blown away and had to make sure to eat here again when returning to Nice. Amazingly fresh ingredients and masterful flavor combinations. It tastes as if it is made by someone who has care and respect for food

FOOD: N/A: didn't get to eat. SERVICE: Terrible. We booked for NYE we were really excited: on booking we were told the normal (Italian style) menu was available. We arrived to a set menu exclusively of seafood and foie gras, which I don't like. When we told the waiter, he simply shrugged, so we left and had to search for another restaurant (again NYE so you cam imagine how busy). AMBIENCE: seemed good, but we were there for less than five minutes. CLEANLINESS: N/A.

We had a really delicious meal here on Christmas Eve, everything was perfect. We hadn't booked but we were warmly welcomed, they were very kind and accommodating especially as I use a mobility scooter and the restaurant was busy, they could so easily have turned us away but they didn't. We will definitely visit again because the food and the wine was so good.

It's ok. It's not great Italian food. And 8€ for one baked pepper is pushing it. The tartare is ikea-style (diy) tartare. If the ingredients didn't have time to mix flavors, I don't want it 🤭
