Very nice restaurant with very kind staff. Highly recommended if you’re looking for typical French Cuisine. The restaurant gives different options between sitting outside, inside or at the terrace. Everything was great except for the long wait we had for the plates to come. We may have been unlucky, so give it a try!

Fantastic food where you can get a great, French culinary experience in the heart of Nice. I tried the escargot, frog legs, and beef tar tar. The escargot was generously swimming in butter and herbs and ended up being the best thing I've eaten in France. The frog legs were delicious and sautéed in butter and the beef tar tar was tasty and generously portioned.

Really big restaurant. Service super quick. It felt like the food was delivered 3 min after we ordered. Food was a bit mediocre.

Honestly below average. Everything was bland. The onion soup tasted like water and the pizza was basically just cheese and no sort of real taste. Also they serve the pizza as half a portion ? And it doesn’t even fit on the plate ?? On top of everything the writers were talking behind some customers’ backs and thought that they could say anything just because they were speaking in Italian. We had a laugh but in reality it was pretty disrespectful. Won’t be coming back.

Considering its location and popularity it was reasonably priced for Nice! Menu not too large, portion sizes good, food tasty and well presented, service good, staff efficient and the house rose wine was light, fresh & dry - not too sweet & fruity like it often is in the UK

This is one of the better restaurant's in Nice at a really good price. There was a short line but we got seated quickly. Could not go past the Frogs Legs, not familiar with how they should taste but we enjoyed them, the garlic butter sauce was nice. If you're thinking about trying this food item i suggest you do. The pasta was good, nothing special but we enjoyed it and it was a reasonable size. The salad was very nice, a generous portion and fresh. The service was good and efficient.

Restaurant La Taverne Masséna offers a delightful dining experience that leaves a lasting impression. As a customer, I was particularly impressed with the attention paid to providing a comfortable atmosphere. When the weather was scorching hot outside, the inside air conditioner was a welcome relief. One of the highlights of the restaurant is undoubtedly their pizza. The pizzas were generously sized, and the taste was simply amazing. The use of a wood-burning stove added a unique flavor and authenticity to the pizzas, making them stand out from the usual offerings found elsewhere. The fact that La Taverne Masséna employs not one, but two professional pizzaioli, demonstrates their dedication to crafting high-quality and delicious pizzas. Aside from the delectable food, the service at La Taverne Masséna was exceptional. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and made sure that every guest felt welcomed and well taken care of. I appreciated the professionalism and efficiency displayed by the waitstaff throughout my visit.

Found this place on Google Maps as we were craving mussels and it had pretty good reviews overall (and the moules frites seemed well priced). The terrace was almost completely full when our group of three arrived around 8pm on a Friday, but we were seated quickly at a corner table. Ordered the assiette nicoise (appetizer platter), moules frites and seafood tagliatelle. Dishes came extremely quickly, like in 10-15 min from when we ordered. The assiette nicoise inludes an onion tart, chickpea cake, eggplant fritters, cod fish, stuffed vegetable and a small nicoise salad. Some interesting dishes that were new to us, but overall it was just okay and kind of bland. The overall portion size of the moules frites was huge, but the actual mussels themselves were tiny and not very fresh. The broth was decent flavour-wise. But the dish in general was lackluster so we quickly grew tired of eating it and struggled to finish it all (and not because of the quantity). We enjoyed the sauce in the seafood tagliatelle but again unimpressed by the actual seafood in the dish. Service was friendly and efficient, as one would expect in a tourist area. Prices are okay, the moules frites are on the cheaper side but I would rather pay a little extra for better mussels. I would recommend going somewhere less touristy and crowded for better quality food.

Taverne Masséna | Maison Cresci offers delectable cuisine, leaving taste buds enchanted. The menu boasts flavorful dishes that delight the palate. However, the service experience was a mixed bag. While the food impressed, the server's forgetfulness was noticeable, leading to some lapses in attentiveness. One disappointing aspect was the reuse of uneaten bread rolls for other patrons, a practice that raises hygiene concerns. Despite these hiccups, the exceptional taste of the dishes shines through, making it a dining destination worth considering. A balance between culinary excellence and attentive service would undoubtedly elevate the overall dining experience at Taverne Masséna | Maison Cresci.

Place was very busy when we went. The food and service was good and the portions were a decent size. I had the onion soup which was warm and cheesy which hit the spot after a long day of exploring.

That is just outrageous and ridiculous in the same time! 🤣😡! They actually put you inside the salad olives that have inside of them the pits!!!!!!!!! I almost broke my teeth! I visited more than 35 countries in my life, and I never saw anywhere, not at home, and not in restaurant that thing. There are many cases of people that lawsuit owners of restaurants because they put in mistake one olive with pit. But this restaurant put the olives with pits like it's a normal thing. And the owner tells me "it's normal here in nice" 🤣 תברחו - מקום זוועתי. שירות גרוע ביותר. מלצרים חצופים. שמו לי חרצנים בסלט :/

The food was ok - the escargot tasted poorly, Niçoise salad quite disappointing & the pizza drowning in cheese. We had a wonderful waiter during the 1st half of our meal but ended with a waiter that made us feel rushed. No additional drinks or dessert were offered, just the bill in what was a quite empty restaurant.

A very nice and local restaurant on one of the main thoroughfares in Nice. The manager was very friendly and got us a table outside. The ambiance is lively and there is fancier seating inside. The pizza was amazing as were the rest of the dishes. Dishes are fresh and flavorful.

Great restaurant with great food and friendly service. They offer a wide range of dishes on the menu including traditional French dishes , fresh pizza /pasta and salads etc . Service was very nice and attentive. Food was very tasty and good portion. We will definitely go back when next in Nice. Highly recommended!

I put 4 points, but the feeling remained at 3. I raised the points for the service and for quickly organizing a place for us! The sensations from the food are ambiguous ... The dishes were brought, but they were huge portions of the same salads with mayonnaise, pizza slices and a dish of delicacies, the menu is vegetables and fish, and they brought everything in fatty batter. Feeling like being in a fast food restaurant.

Food is acceptable. The service team is amazing. Very nice people. It's a tourist area so the prices are high.

Great restaurant in this busy pedestrian street. Perfect place to take a break and enjoy local recipes. Very tasty dishes a at reasonable prices. Good service. Be careful with the prices for drinks (5€ for a Coke)

Lots of selections for the dinner menu. I took the recommended mix/special dish by the French friend - grilled eggplant was nice, meatballs in the tomatoes were a bit plain, and the rest on the plate was also a bit plain; The frog was oily, the snails were oily and difficult to get out. The service was good.

Maybe I’m just fussy or use to excellent food. The starter was very good. The mains however was a little dry and lacking in real flavour. The meal in Australian terms was far from cheap.

Fantastic French restaurant with a reasonably priced menu. Lots to choose from. One of the highlights of our trip. Mussels were delicious and the French onion soup, well I’m still dreaming about it! Staff were lovely too. Will definitely return.

For our first time visiting Nice, my fiancée and I came across this restaurant on a walk and it was a pleasant surprise. Very inviting from the outside, we had to give it a try and it did not disappoint at all! Enzo has a very friendly demeanour and welcoming smile as he greets and seats everyone from the door. The restaurant was full and he had full command of the seating arrangements without failing to greet everyone personally and warmly. Olivier was our server and he is absolutely incredible and superb, spot on with his recommendations and portion sizes. The mussels are a cannot-miss dish, as they are served in an enormous pot and appear to be endless. What a pot of abundance! We thoroughly enjoyed our first dining experience here so many thanks to Enzo, Olivier, and the rest of the La Taverne Massena team. We are currently here for our second consecutive night, being served by Olivier and enjoying those mussels once again. When in Nice, come through here!
