Incredible experience and fantastic service. Top quality food and not bad on price. We were seated inside and had a free little starter, I got to watch my steak being cooked in the wood fired oven and my wife had a beautiful gnocchi with truffle. 10/10 will definitely visit again next time I'm in Nice.

Review: Delicious food at an affordable price Food: The pasta was good and also the meat balls. However, stew meat is somewhat typically Hungarian so it was hard to detect what was specifically about the Nice version of it. Service: friendly service and all tables were suddenly presented their bills and many left after the payment Restaurant: the restaurant has many seatings inside, while the options outside are limited. It is possible to get a table spontaneously and no reservation is needed at noon.

Best dinner I've had in Nice. From the food to the service everything was great. Stayed in Nice 5 nights and 2 weeks in France, were still raving about this place. My meatballs were awesome and the homemade gnocchi was the bomb. We shared a side of ratatouille as well which j highly recommend Nice outside seating option and an overall nice atmosphere outside, not as noisy or touristy as I expected. Will be going back here again for sure next time im in Nice... Make a reso to make your life easier

We had a wonderful lunch experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious and varied, we tried the local specialties and enjoyed every bite. The service was also impeccable and courteous, they made us feel welcome and comfortable. We highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to taste authentic and quality cuisine.

Great people, good service and atmosphere, but food just okay. It's not a bad option while in town but not the best either. We went with a big group of friends on a rainy Sunday and the service was beautiful, very nice and on top of anything we might need. However, the food was just okay. The menu is giant and has very traditional plates, with big portions, so you can definitely share. Prices are average, not so expensive

Gem in Vieux Nice 🍽🦐✨ Book ahead to ensure you get a table & you don't miss out! Managed to reserve a table for one - the seating outdoors is perched on the edge of a bustling Old Town street (brilliant for people-watching & taking in the flow of the place). The tables are quite packed together, but it makes for the experience. The waiters are truly wonderful, attentive, & charming with humour - they speak both French and English, to my luck! Ordered the grilled prawns l'escalinada style - a flavourful yet subtle anise sauce... I mopped it all up with the crusty bread & sides. Get stuck into the prawns with your hands & make use of the lemon scented towelette at the end! The dish took a short while to be grilled fresh - however, it's worth mentioning that while waiting, the waiters offered a scoop of house chickpea salad dressed simply in olive oil - a lovely touch & credit to the thoughtful service!

Unfortunately I can only give 5 stars here. This restaurant deserves at least 7 stars, trust me. The food, service, quality, price, all is just perfect. I can recommend Pasta Carbonara, oh gosh, how delicious 😍 for dessert you never go wrong with Creme Brule. If you are in Nice, you HAVE to eat here. Thank me later!

Love this place! Very local old school Nicoise style recipes, generous portions. All the workers here are the happiest, friendliest, kindest, and best service you may find in all of France!!! Highly recommend. Great menu and desserts!

Amazing food, wine and location. Quick & friendly service. I ordered a L’Escalinada pizza without cheese (yes I’m weird I know) and it was beautiful. Normally, if they say I can’t have a pizza without cheese it means that the pizzas are not freshly made. However, they made me a cheeseless pizza no problem and it came out within 10 minutes. The crust was thin and crispy in the best way and clearly cooked in a proper pizza oven. I was offered some chilli oil (pictured) which was soooo good. I also had a latté there which was lovely. The location was great for people watching. I sat outside but there is indoor seating too. I would definitely come back again!

Went there alone, unfortunately there were no sitting options outside so I had to go inside for a table, had a the octopus salad as the starter and 2 main dishes, the ribeye and the prawns, they brought some kind of a sea food baked in over with sardines and some kind of a sauce, it was cold and in one of them there was some kind of a really hard but that hurt my teeth a bit (guess my luck?) The starter came in a reasonable time, it was fresh and did not smell, liked the combination. First main course the steak came perfectly as I ordered it, it was medium rare with a side of vegetables and a rucola parmesan salad, the steak itself lacked salt and spices but could be fixed with them added on ( wouldn't be as good if they add it before cooking) after a while , a side of fried chickpeas came, it was a bit too dry for me and it tasted ok, prefer having normal fries with my steak . Next course came just before I take the last bite, prawns made their own style, it had 6 prawns in it , grilled and topped with a tomatoe sauce, it's not completely a large portion but it'll fill u if you finish everything including the rice and vegetables beside the food, the rice that was beside it did not have enough spices? Maybe it was the style but I prefer having something that leaves a better taste in my mouth, I also loved the vegetables at the side of prawns more than the steak, they had a chew to them and I liked the texture very much. Overall a nice experience, even though I didn't get the best sitting option(usually very busy at nights at summertime) very friendly and attentive staff, did not ask for tips in the end and I think it'll be a nice experience for people to visit here on their trips to Nice.

Located in the streets of the old town, this place looks small from the outside however has lots of space indoors and some outdoor seating. I opted for the fish stew and the flavours made for a tasty dish that was real comfort food. We got some tasty marinated chickpeas for starters and crème brûlée for desert with a bottle of local red wine. The team were super efficient and polite. Another great local experience. They have a lot to choose from on the menu which is a challenge however if my dish is anything to go by, I will be back again for evening dinner :) If you are looking for a nice place to go and can’t decide… L’Escalinada is highly recommended.

Good food, we had the zuqini fritters as a starter and they were delicious. As a main i ordered a ravioli and got a tagliatelle that tastes Good, but nothing special. The restaurant is in a very cute area, and is not that expensive compared to other restaurants here. The staff was very friendly and helpfull!

Great bistro serving traditional Nicoise food in Old Town. The portion sizes are huge! I can recommend the Scampi Beignet & Doub Provencal.

This was the first restaurant I went to when visiting Nice and I loved it. Staff friendly, the food was fresh and delicious, we even got a little appetizers to taste and try. Beautiful place in Old Nice. Cannot wait to come back.

Decent seafood restaurant in old-town Nice. Lots of variety of regional dishe including vegetarian/vegan options. Food was good if a bit overpriced. Good selection of beer and wine. Outdoor seating is best for people watching. Staff polite.

Food was delicious. Service Friendly. We got a table outside in the alleyway. Didn’t try the pan fried Crumbed Sheep T*st*cl*s, but they seemed to be a specialty!

We shared the appetizer for two, and then had beef stew with gnocchi and meatballs with pasta. Excellent, and the people watching was, too. @addsomeglamour

Staff was nice albeit a bit too jovial. The food, however, was horrible. The chèvre chaud was burnt black and the local specialities was a plate of overly battered and fried veggies and seafood that was full of scales.

We stayed 10 days in Nice and had our first dinner out here. The service was superb! And the food was amazing. Real french food and prices are reasonable. We also ordered calamari which was not on the menu. It was the best (and freshest) I’ve had in my whole stay in Nice. Thank you for the memorable experience. And to our beautiful server, I wished I could’ve tipped you more. 🥹♥️

Friendly staff and excellent food, best chickpea salad I have ever eaten, the house mixed starter is enough for diner. Beef stew a gnocchi rich and very tasty.

Very good food (especially shrimps!), big portions and house wine. The staff was also super friendly and fun. I’m cutting one start off as we were been waiting for a very long time before someone took care of us, gave us a menu etc. Besides that, I highly recommend the place
