This is a very well maintained museum. It was nice to take a walk into Cyprus's history. I was very pleasantly surprised to see such amazingly preserved relics and statues. The museum is spacious and it could benefit with some better lighting. There was an audio facility as well. The entry was free and the staff was friendly. I wish there was free drinking water.

Wow if this is not a great local museum which is housing an impressive collection which will impress anyone, whether you were a fan of prehistoric artifacts Or classical antiquities. Although there is still much work that could be done with the presentation of the artifacts it is indeed an impressive collection in any person who wants to know about the history of Cyprus to check out this museum it’s free to the public has a great gift shop.

Archaeological museum. Not loads there, but some nice pieces that span across different eras. Gives a nice feeling of the origins of the country's development and trade. About 30-45 mins to walk round and free (always a plus)

Interesting collection of relics and artifacts from Crete and Greek origins. Museum has a good layout allowing easy appreciation of the displays and reasonable space and comfort for the individual. Was a little crowded on day of visit due to a large influx of tourists but the crowd thin out after half an hour

The most important archäological museum on the island. Beautiful artefacts and a lot of history. Many exponates are from the historical sites on the island. You will need to visit that for a proper impression of the interesting history! You can also find the figurine from the Euro coins here.

Extremely interesting museum, very local, cute and unique expositions, adorable hall with 3d stories about people.. very touching. Have been there twice. If someone tells you, that archeological museum is boring - don't believe. It's not about Cyprus Museum! You are like on board of time machine. Entrance is free of charge.

Outstanding museum, well curated. Wish I could go back again now that I have seen some of the sites. Lots of pottery, lots of statues, but interesting. Some of the pottery reminded me of Acoma pueblo pottery in New Mexico. Interesting to see some of the molds for clay, and for coins. Well worth the visit.

I visited the museum for free on Sunday, the visit lasted about 45 minutes and was very interesting, the exhibits are kept in absolutely excellent condition. definitely lacks some interaction but then again it's your classic national museum.

The Cyprus Museum is a fantastic experience! One of the best parts is that they offer free admission and provide audio guides in multiple languages. Inside, you'll uncover the vast history of this remarkable country/island. The museum beautifully showcases the profound impacts of various civilizations and cultures over time. It's definitely worth spending at least an hour here to explore and appreciate Cyprus's rich history.

Small but perfectly formed. Lots of amazing statuary to wander through. Small enough to not be overwhelmed but big enough to be interesting. Quite a walk from where we parked but worth it. Restrooms and a shop/Bookshop for souvenirs. Worth a visit.

While in Nicosia, this is a must visit if you want to know about the history of civilization on the island of Cyprus. As most museums in Cyprus, the entrance is free of charge. At the end of our visit we bought souvenirs from the museum shop, it’s probably the best way to support them and have something to keep home or gift someone dear.

Archaeological Museum. The presentation was really good and the rooms well built. The signs could have been more clearly directed also to the small rooms near the toilet. By chance, they were also noticed. If the tourist group is in the museum, you should wait a little while so you can look at it in peace.

What a wonderful museum! Big enough to provide plenty to enjoy, but no so big it’s overwhelming. I loved the bioarcheological exhibition: creating a story of ancient people’s lives from their skeletons was fascinating.

Amazing, full of history. The entrance was free, and it was incredible for what was included inside. Lots of artefacts. Must see!

It is really interesting and there are many different rooms! For me it was a little boring, bc the theme that the museum has, is not in my interest... but I still really liked it! Pro's are: • Audio guide with many different languages • Folding chairs, so you can always sit down and listen to a story • Many rooms • free (you don't need to pay) I would recommend it if you like; The story of Cyprus and History

Items in museum collections are impressive and unique and represent the history of human civilization from different periods on the island. Special attention must be paid to the interpretative part called "Five". There, we will find five stories of ancient inhabitants of the island.

Fantastic little museum, would absolutely recommend going. It may be a small museum but their collection is incredibly impressive! I'd say an hour or two here is all you need! Free entry!!!

If you are travelling to Cyprus and are interested in the history of the island a visit to the Cyprus Museum is a must. The museum is world class. It has hundreds of artifacts, statues, pottery, coins , mosaics... that cover the entire settled history of the island. It's laid out in a logical order with the oldest Neolithic items first progressing through the Greek, Roman, and Byzantine periods. It takes about 2 hours to see everything but it's worth it.

You will need a good two hours or more for this wonderful museum. Thousands of years of history with beautiful objects and English descriptions. It also highlights the treasures which disappeared to foreign shores.

  • 5/5 Eileen M. 2 years ago on Google
Free museum with fascinating prehistoric artifacts. There is so much to see and learn about. You will need at least 2-3 hours. Also, there is a free audio guide, which I highly recommend. Learn about the ancient dwarf elephants and so much more!

It is very nice museum with good curation of historical artifacts. If you want to learn about the history of Cyprus and this region, this must be an interesting place. You have to show a safe flight pass, and it was free.

  • 4/5 Piotr “Lord” D. 2 years ago on Google
Museum is for free, you just need the fly pass to get in. Check the opening times as they are not open full day. To fast walk it you need 20 minutes to complete walk with details max 45 minutes. They have mostly stuff that where dig up by archeologist. Some parts are do interesting even for me.

Well in comparison with UK museums this one is tiny . But we really like the interactive board where you can see the full specimen of dishes or monuments by one tiny piece

👍👍 Maybe one of the most powerful monuments and testaments for freedom I've ever seen. The inscription "remember that you have to fight for freedom" will always be prescient. I was terribly impressed by the amount of bronze statues, their sheer detail and facial emotions
