I bought a cavalier 10 days ago... I thought I was so lucky because it was for somebody else that canceled his order and I found it so quickly... Everyone was so happy at the house, my kids got crazy, but only for 3 days.. Then the dog started diarrhea and I took it to the doctor, things were serious and until Monday, a week after the dog died. OK he gave me some of my money back, not all but this wasn't the point.. But my kids crying and asking and wondering what happened with the dog.. (I didn't tell them what really happened). What about the other 5 cavalier that came together? I really wonder if they are alive.. I heard they are not, is that true? To have a pet shop, is very important to love pets otherwise you lost the point, is not only about money Marie, but what about the pets and the feelings of people who make them a member at their family and then suffer when they loose them, it's a crime nothing less nothing more, unfortunately I didn't read the reviews before..

My advice to people who love dogs and desperately want to get one - do not trust or believe this guy. He has been lying to us about 2 weeks about the fact that our puppy that we have ordered would have came by a particular date and we called him at the beginning of that week where we have been informed that the puppy will not come in Cyprus because it is too young. Our response was “Well, didn't you know that already?” and he said “The regulations in Greece now are more strict and do not allow dogs younger than 3 months to travel” Anyhow the good thing is that we received our money back but it is obvious that this guy does not care about the wellbeing and health of the puppies he sells since he risks bringing them in Cyprus when it is not permitted due to pet safety reasons. However, we were really happy and excited with the idea of getting that particular breed and he has ruined everything and we regret trusting him. Also the fact that we have read the reviews after this whole experience with him (which we did not think to do before ordering our puppy from him) and have seen that many people got their puppies sick confirmed our concerns and we came to the conclusion that we might have been lucky for not getting a puppy from him... I am not writing this review to “hurt” or affect the reputation of the pet shop.. I am just trying to assist those who are considering getting a puppy from this guy - especially the ones who desperately want to get one.

DO NOT GET A PUPPY FROM THEM!!!!!!!! I cannot stress that enough!!! We received a Kind Charles Cavalier from Pet Island on the 18th of June 2020. We took the puppy to our vet the following morning, for what we thought was a quick check-up and numerous problems where identified. Initially her doctor identified (by checking her teeth) that she was at least two weeks younger than what her passport indicated. The doctor informed us that in order for a puppy to have been allowed to travel – by Cyprus law – that it should have been at least 3 months old. Her fake age was also an indication that we could not rely on the vaccinations indicated in her passport either - as they could have also been falsified. The doctor also identified an extensive list of health issues that our puppy is currently suffering from: A. Parasites A1. Eye infection (Tobraculin treatment) A2. Ticks (pill) A3. Ear infection (Epiotic) B. Endo parasites B1. Worms (Panacur treatment) B2. Tape (Tape pill) C. Protozoa C1. Jardia (had to do an X-ray, 2 blood tests , 1 biochemical test, Methonidazole) D. Fugi D1. Skin infection (fungi culture -results on strain still pending) E. Genetic defects E1. Overbite (no treatment) -An overbite is a genetic, hereditary condition where a dog's lower jaw is significantly shorter than its upper jaw. This is going to cause a permanent problem to our puppy. Had the breeders took the required care to chose appropriate animals for mating- this would have been prevented. F. Hernia - requires surgery ! As a result our pappy has been experiencing: 1. Vomiting 2. Excessive Diaria 3. Blood in stool 4. Excessive Itching Our puppy is currently on a specialised diet and numerous medications!! I created this extensive record in order to give the full picture of the severity of our puppy’s health - as well as the level of stress that Pet Island has caused our family for the past month. We agreed on getting a puppy from Pet Island as we love King Charles Spaniels (we were the happy owners of a King Charles abroad – and have a certain affinity towards them) - with the premise that Pet Island took great care in finding their dog breeders who loved their puppies and chose the breeding pairs carefully. THIS IS NOT THE CASE!!! We expected that our puppy’s health and well being were a top priority at all times. That for us was a non-negotiable. THIS UNFORTUNATELY IS NOT THE CASE!!! It is obvious that our puppy's health problems are a clear indication of the conditions that her mother is in and that the Pet Island pet shop most probably collaborates with puppy mills. Once our initial shock was over regarding our puppy's health, we confronted Pet Island owners– they refused to acknowledge the situation and blamed us for not choosing the Vet they suggested here in Cyprus (??). We had consciously chosen an unbiased doctor and they insisted that we went to theirs - as if that would have changed the outcome of her health!! Once we informed them that we will highlight their negligence regarding the health of the puppies they bring in Cyprus, they responded that we can get our money back if we agree to return our puppy – at which point we stopped communicating with them, as that was out of the question! …In the meantime we discovered more people that also bought seriously ill puppies from Pet Island - If we knew what we now know - we would have NEVER entrusted them. This needs to stop!!!!!

Edit- The fact that this company has had to turn reviews off - says all that needs to be said. However, the sad reality is that Pet Island is a company supporting inhumane high-volume dog breeding facilities that sell puppies for profit, ignoring the needs of the pups and their mothers. I purchased a puppy last year and it very quickly became obvious that the above statement applies. The puppy I purchased has so many issues relating to bad breeding practices such as hip dysplasia and luxating patella in both knees - these are genetic skeletal conditions and get passed down from the parents. These two conditions alone will cost €2000 in surgery and no guarantee the surgery will work. The dog has allergies and has clearly been traumatised from being taken from the mother way too early. The vet told me the vaccinations are probably fake (I had them all done again) and that these dogs are shipped to Cyprus far to young and that he sees so many sick dogs coming from not just Pet Island but other pet shops in Cyprus. I would advise to purchase a puppy privately where you can see the parents and how the parents look and behave as adults. I honestly wish I had rescued from the shelter- instead I have a dog that’s going to cost thousands to fix that’s traumatised and will probably never be a happy well balanced dog. Most pet shops in Cyprus will import from these types of horrible breeding facilities and I wish I had not been so naive. If you do purchase a puppy from Pet Island be prepared to spend A LOT of money treating and fixing the many horrible conditions that come with bad breeding. The mothers of these puppies will be bred over and over again until they can no longer produce puppies and will no longer be needed. I feel so guilty that I have played a part in their suffering.

In the beginning when I was reading the reviews I did not think they were true. I can confirm now that this guy is aggressive and is a liar. Do not trust him. Very bad attitude.

Bought several times from there and I had never received a receipt. I never asked for it because they should give receipt as all businesses. Is it because I am a foreigner that I had never received a receipt? I am sorry but I won't be buying from there again.

We bought a healthy , lovely Chihuahua puppy a few days ago. The young lady at the store was extremely helpful and kind. Most of the pups come from abroad so most likely the one star people had very bad luck with the litter brought in, sadly. But the way we where treated we are pretty sure the owners would have dealt with it in a professional manner. Due to the fact that very bad reviews can destroy peoples business I chose to write this review as it will be unfair for this pet shop.

Bought an Alexandrine parrot, a couple of years ago. Was given clear instructions how to hand feed him, and buy all my parrot's food from the specific store. Very satisfied from the overall service!!

The best pet shop in Nicosia. They know how to take good care of my Loulou. They are always supporting and helpful. When I am on vacation, Mario is taking care of my Loulou and he refused to take her away from her home, coming daily and sometime twice to my place for her. This is love. Thanks pet island.
