Enjoyed a week long stay at the Excelsior. A lovely hotel with spectacular views of the sea and the old town. Our stay started off with a few small issues, but these were dealt with swiftly and the staff and management seemed genuinely interested in ensuring we had a good stay. Breakfast was nice - plenty of fresh fruit, savoury items, hot buffet (veg and meat items separated), gluten free station, pastries and cakes. Cooked breakfast also available. Would have been nice to see more local products like fig jam and a better variety of jams etc. We were treated to a dinner in Sensus (thank you Marco!) a fine dining restaurant within the hotel and the food was exceptional. All in all, we had a wonderful stay. My reason for four stars is that the hotel seems more like a great four star than a five star.

This hotel is truly amazing. It has beautiful views of lokrum island and the old town. The location is perfect, just a short walk to all the attractions and restaurants. The staff is extremely professional and friendly. Breakfast every morning was fantastic and the pool/spa/“beach” amenities were perfect. One of the best hotel experiences we have had.

This is not a true 5* hotel. The amenities and location are excellent. Views of the old town abound throughout the property. However the service and quality of the rooms leaves a lot to be desired. From check in to the bar service and wait staff, we didn’t feel like we were receiving 5* level service anywhere. Breakfast is a mad house. Think crowded loud buffet. The food was way below our expectations. Bar and restaurant food was mostly passable, but in no way exceptional. There was a large wedding party here and several large groups when we stayed. This is a big hotel and it will likely be busy and loud, not an intimate setting at all. We were disappointed with the room quality based on for the price. Bathroom was so dark we could barely see, no real coffee maker in the room, tiny and tight layout. With Dubrovnik being such a busy tourist town, we were hoping the hotel would be a true 5* property and more of a respite from the busy town where we could really relax. However, the intimacy, luxury, and service of this property were all on a 4* level. We will be trying other properties if we return.

An oasis from the summer heat and tourist crowds in Dubrovnik old town. Buffet breakfast is excellent. Option to eat on terrace with view of old town. Hot options and coffee can be ordered from helpful staff. Design is chic and gray and black themed. Rooms very modern and well equipped. Concierge very helpful. Small supermarket is a short walk up the hill. Highly recommended

Exceptional hotel, exceptional location, exceptional service, very good spa, and ok food. The hotel occupies premium real estate just minutes from Ploce gate. Rooms are a good size and well appointed. We opted for the Sea view with a small balcony. The balcony is just large enough to stand on. Beds were firm but comfortable and pillows were a bit too firm. The service in every aspect of the hotel is truly very good. We never wanted for anything. The terrace bar was our favorite post day relaxation stop. The spa offered a range of services. Some were available for short notice booking but during off season I recommend making an appointment by emailing the spa. The only issue we had was the food. The food consistently came out cold. Whether as part of the free breakfast or through Sensus restaurant, our food was always just a bit too cold. The taste of the food was very good however. The morning breakfast buffet was also very good in its selection. The food issue may be due to us visiting at the beginning of the off season. In summary, I very much recommend this excellent hotel. It is truly a great place.

The Excelsior in Dubrovnik is a short walk to the Walled City. Downhill going and a gentle uphill grade back home. The traffic can be vicious on the little oneway street but mostly the pedestrian path is separated. Good thing cause Croatian drivers are on a mission! The hotel is lovely and modern. We were in the old part but that has been all fixed up too. The main difference in our room and others facing the ocean is that we had only a very small window and no outside balcony. However the view once you lean out past the shutters was very nice. One thought would be to remove the shutters (in season) on the floor we were on to allow guests to not have to lean far over the cliff to see past them. Every other room in the hotel had access to unparalleled views I am sure. The amenities are top drawer. Breakfast was very comprehensive and the only time it got hectic was when the tour groups convened and took over the dining room. We do like a gin and tonic on the terrace but after the first day when we saw it was 18 Euros for a rather dull version of a G and T, we went elsewhere for a relaxed drink. So the Excelsior is not for the faint of heart. More suited for Kings and Queens of Kings Landing.

Great stay at the hotel! We celebrated my fathers birthday and the staff made this stay perfect. Furthermore there was an injury where we needed the ambulance while a private running trip and the hotel staff was super caring and offered first aid patches as often as we needed them. Thanks for everything and thank you for making this stay so comfy ❤️

From the moment we walked in to the hotel facility we were warmly welcomed by the staff. ( Marco and Ivana) This is the best hotel in Dubrovnik not only by its location within walking distance to old town but its top of the class facility and staff service. The hotel offers a great buffet breakfast as well as a la carte. Highly recommended if visiting Dubrovnik. Will be back!!!

Excellent location, wonderful staff and lovely open areas to sit in. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. With its direct access to the sea (without having to walk through sand!), and the beautiful old building, you're transported to a scene from the 1920s Riviera. A magical place I look forward to going back to.

I have been to a lot of hotels, including quite luxurious ones. But the Excelsior was really outstanding, especially in terms of the friendliness of the staff. We felt extremely comfortable and enjoyed every minute there. It makes absolute sense to choose the sea side, from our balcony we had a great view of Lokrum and the old town of Dubrovnik. And it was super quiet. Full score. Not cheap, but worth every euro!

Really enjoyed our honeymoon here, service, food and views of the Adriatic, Lokrum and Old Town Dubrovnik are amazing. Only a short walk into Old Town which is ideal. Recommend if you want somewhere nice to stay where you can relax away from the hustle and bustle while being close to the main sights. Staff are always happy to help in anyway they can, we were pleasantly surprised on arrive to an upgrade and prosecco in our room, a big thank you for making our stay a special one!

Mediocrity in terms of a luxury hotel. However, you don’t go to this beautiful city to stay in the hotel. It is a quick walk to the old town of Dubrovnik and that makes the hotel worth the price.

This year I can spend the New Year with my friend at your place. The gala dinner was extremely delicate and your service was simply top. The great location with the view of the old town is phenomenal. We look forward to coming back at the end of the year and hope you can all enjoy your well-deserved vacation! Best regards from Austria

A fantastic hotel. The rooms were a touch small for a luxury hotel in general, but considering the location and Dubrovnik as a whole, they were perfectly fine. Breakfast was nice, the stone beach was fantastic. Housekeeping was attentive and the front desk & concierge were top notch. The location is perfect. I would have stayed here for a month if I could...

For the first time ever my family had our holiday at the same place- first in 2022 and again in 2023. A lovely hotel with private sea access, a sun terrace, an awesome bar terrace with the best views of Dubrovnik and large internal pool and spa complex. The staff are very helpful and courteous as well. Also- the location is amazing- 5 minutes away from the old city walls, if that. We loved it as much as we did in 2022 and I wouldn't be surprised if we return again!

Hotel Excelsior was the best choice that we could have made for our honeymoon! The amenities are fantastic - several restaurant options to choose from, and the outdoor seaside/beach area is stunning. We looked forward to breakfast on the terrace every morning. The staff was incredibly attentive. We could not have asked for a better experience on our honeymoon!

Absolutely amazing!! The views, the location, the breakfast, the staff! The breakfast is delicious, so many good and healthy options, they also had soy yogurt for me because i have lactose intolerance! The food at the hotel is great too! Had wine at the piano bar watching Dubrovnik sunset!! Made my trip and vacation the best ever! Loved it everything!!

What a beautiful, perfect hotel. One of the managers upgraded me to a gorgeous room with ever more gorgeous views, and everyone was extremely kind and welcoming. The breakfast is out of this world. Thank you again for your help and kindness!

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Excelsior Dubrovnik, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. We have stayed at luxury hotels and resorts before, but the exceptional service and stunning views at Hotel Excelsior surpassed all of our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by friendly and accommodating staff who were always smiling and ready to assist us with anything we needed. The attention to detail and level of hospitality was exceptional throughout our stay. Our room had a breathtaking view of, the Lokrum island, Old city, Lovrijenac fort and Adriatic sea, which made waking up each morning an absolute delight. The room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed, with everything we needed to feel comfortable and relaxed. One of the highlights of our stay was dining at the hotel's in-house restaurant, Sensus. The food was absolutely amazing, and the breakfast spread offered a wide variety of delicious options to choose from. In addition to the exceptional dining and accommodations, we also loved the indoor pool, jacuzzi, and sauna. The facilities were top-notch and provided the perfect opportunity to unwind and relax after a long day of exploring Dubrovnik. The outdoor pool, fed by the sea water, was also a highlight of our stay. Overall, we can't say enough good things about our stay at Hotel Excelsior Dubrovnik. The staff, views, and amenities were all exceptional, and we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an unforgettable luxury experience in Dubrovnik. We can't wait to return to Hotel Excelsior Dubrovnik in the future. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

During our 2 week trip in Croatia we had some hotel challenges that created quite a bit of stress. Management (Ivo) at this hotel went above and beyond to make our stay an excellent stay. Integrity goes a long way!!! Thank you. The rooms are very clean, staff very professional and mindful. One young man stood out, Marko. He always had a beaming smile. The breakfast buffet offers a good variation of foods. The sunbathing/swimming area right on the ocean is a delight. Hallways in this hotel are quiet. The hotel is located just outside Old Town, away from the hustle and bustle. We are staying in a junior suite on the Baltic Sea. Give yourself that treat in one of the best, if not THE best hotel in Dubrovnic. Later tonight we will try out the Spa and Fine dining. We are convinced that too will be a delight in this classy environment. We are very pleased with the professionlism of this hotel. That is key.

Couldn’t ask for a better hotel. Staff were incredibly attentive. They even put a birthday cake in my room on my birthday- I never told them it was my birthday, they just knew and surprised me. 10/10 experience overall!

Our stay at hotel excelsior was by far the greatest experience. Vesna went above and beyond providing the best experience. We lost our luggage and she was able to track it down! She called the airport, spoke to the driver as well as the following day called us to make sure we had received our luggage after we had left. She was exceptional and I can’t be more thankful for her help during our stay.

I am so curious why the hotel can be so popular and highly rated. The infrastructure is on top a standard of 3 stars hotel. I have been living in luxurious hotel all around the world, but I really cannot justify the charge. The 500+ euro room is not big enough for 2 people to stand at the same place. The only thing I could recommend is the restaurant on the cliff and the location to the old town. For me the hotel Rixios is a much better choice.

Fantastic and very professional staff, wish I could extend my stay, will not stay anywhere else when visiting Dubrovnik. Location is perfect, extremely clean, food buffet is tops, staff at swimming area are extremely helpful and very nice and polite. This hotel deserves more than 5 stars.

This hotel is simply amazing! Perfect location is away from the hustle and bustle of Old Town but only 5min on foot. Modern and tasteful furniture, lovely service, delicious food and the part I enjoyed the most: its own beach and spa with unlimited access to sauna, hot tub and pools. If you visiting Dubrovnik, this is the place to be.

Excellent hotel! Great location, easy walking distance to old town. Room was beautiful and had an amazing view! The indoor pool is huge and definitely worth a visit. They also have an outdoor pool that is fed by the ocean.
