Relaxing and cooling areas, delicious food and best natural juices. Services off the chain. Very clean environment.

To reach it, you need to cross several military blockposts. Food was extraordinary and service was also good

Good quiet place to relax, safe and located far away from downtown chaos. Pool water was fresh and clean, waiters were nice and understanding, lot to do basketball, soccer, paintball, kids playground with trampoline.

Recently had a 2-week stay here. The rooms are actually in small bungalows and there are two rooms per bungalow. I say this because the walls are not thick, and several nights I had neighbors who "partied all night long" and I felt as if I were in the room with them. The room was large and consisted of two single beds, a desk and two chairs. A small college dorm size fridge and two closets. The bathroom was ample size and I had plenty of hot water. The bathroom was dark as the lights above the mirror were not working. The room as a A/C unit which was loud and while it would keep the room cool, once a day I had to shut it off for 10-mins to let it reset. For some reason it would stop blowing cold air but the daily reset help. The restaurant was ok, I had breakfast and dinner most days. Normally I would have the breakfast complete - coffee, juice and bread and it came to about 5000 or $9US. If I added an omelet it was closer to $11 but the omelet except for one morning was greasy. There is no menu for breakfast and the restaurant was never cleaned from the night before, so I would have to self-bust a table to sit. Dinner menu had a wide selection but all in French. I stuck with the beef and on all but a few occasions it was well prepared - though still on the greasy side. The hotel does have a pool but expect a crowd on the weekends as locals stop by to use it. The grounds of the hotel are lacking in upkeep. Several of the bungalows are in disrepair and every morning there is trash littering the grounds. In the center of the complex is a covered pavilion which would be a nice place to sit, but it's filled with old a/c units and motorcycles. There is security in the form of two vehicle barrier gates, several unarmed staff who do a visual search of the undercarriage of your vehicle. There are also some armed military types. Your room has only one key, so if you don't turn it in when you depart for the day, your room isn't cleaned. The front desk staff are helpful, but only a few speak sufficient English. It was recommended to us to pay in local currency and not to use a Credit Card. This isn't specific to the hotel but country wide. There is wifi, several routers throughout the complex, but the speeds are very slow but don't expect daily access. You may see you are connected to the internet but you can't access anything. I think it's a country issue and again not specific to the hotel. You can have laundry done - you give it to the front desk and then send it over to the Grand Hotel and you get it back the next day. Reasonably priced. There is nothing near the hotel - definitely not an area you want to walk and site-see. The price for what you get is very reasonable. Water is unsafe to drink, so that means don't use it to brush your teeth. You can get bottled water at the restaurant but I recommend a quick trip to the main supermarket and stock up.

The swimming pool is nice and the restaurant offers adequate food and prices, but the rooms are in terrible need for maintenance as there's always problems with plumbing and insect infections.

African style bungalows in a magnificent park with huge trees, a pool, playground for kids, a tennis court, and many places for lounging and relaxing with the family.
