I had an excruciating pain which I thought would be ok after taking penicillin and Advil for pain… WRONG! It helped a little but I knew I needed to get my molar extracted. I called, they set me up for an appointment. From the moment I walked in everyone was so helpful and pleasant. Well guess what? So was Dr Hobie! He made me laugh, feel at ease and before I knew it, he’d extracted my tooth. Amazing - love this place ❤️ highly recommend

I had a dental emergency yesterday that brought me onto google for emergency dentists. I read a lot of reviews and found that Santa Barbara Family Dentistry has some lovely reviews. Especially when it comes to emergencies. Turns out I have to get an extraction. After about 10 shots to numb me, the dentist shoved a giant bite block in my mouth that is entirely too big, only half the block fits in my jaw it’s even the nurse mentioned it was too big but he didn’t care. It was very painful and uncomfortable and then he spends the next 27 minutes digging, and pulling and prying my tooth out. After he’s done he says okay bye. I ask if I’m getting any pain meds because I have had a tooth pulled before, I know how painful it is the next day and he laughs and says “you don’t need pain meds.” I was shocked. I went to the car shaking and crying and had to restrain my mom from going inside to talk to them. I would have never gotten this procedure done here if I knew how it would have gone. Just ridiculous that they pulled a bone out of my mouth and say “bye!” I don’t recommend this place. They made me feel like a child, then like an addict. I also had to beg for a note to miss work. Really nice job making me feel very small. I’m never going back to this place where I was not taken care of properly. I really think all the 5 star reviews on here are fake.

These people are crooks stay away. I had an initial consultation with them and I was told I would have to pay $7000 out-of-pocket after insurance. Something did not sit right with me, so I got a second opinion. The second quote I received for the same amount of work was going to cost me $850 out-of-pocket!!! Going through the reviews on yelp leads me to believe that they have been consistently taking advantage of people for years.

We came in on a medical emergency and I can’t express enough the gratitude my family has for this office. We were recommended by Marian emergency to take our grandmother to SB family and this is now forever our home. The staff is Kind and attentive, especially wanting to give a huge thank you to Christina for her adamant care and professionalism during our stressful time. We were able to be seen by the Dr himself on an emergency and he took care of grandma pain free and truly felt VIP like family here. Thank you Doctor! Thank you staff for taking such care of us, we are home now and on the road to great recovery thanks to Santa Barbra family
