Sin
that
due
to
the
situation
in
Venezuela
and
in
the
world
you
cannot
travel
to
my
beloved
land.
When
we
talk
about
the
tree
of
life,
the
old
Dragon
in
Tenerife
and
the
secular
trees
in
the
world,
I
always
dream
in
that
embrace
made
to
my
young
tree
of
life,
in
the
Henry
Pititier
National
Park
in
Venezuela,
on
the
fantastic
afternoons
spent
in
the
river
bank
playing
with
my
brother
together
with
my
family
...
What
are
those
connected
moments
in
our
soul
story?
Those
people
who
spent
fantastic
moments
with
you
under
the
shadow
of
their
past?
Our
land
deserves
to
be
admired,
loved
and
respected
Thank
you
mother
Gaia.
To
visit
the
vast
park
that
occupying
an
area
of
350
sq
mi
(900
sq
km)
between
Lago
(lake)
de
Valencia
and
the
Caribbean.
It
is
Venezuela’s
oldest
national
park.
You
have
two
ancient
ways
from
Maracay
city
:
-
Part
of
this
route
persists
on
the
current
Maracay-Choroní
highway
and
Maracay-
Ocumare
de
la
Costa.
The
park
is
also
known
as
Rancho
Grande
National
Park
.
Henri
Pittier,
a
Swiss
geographer
and
botanist
who
studied
and
classified
more
than
30,000
plants
in
Venezuela.
Pittier
convinced
the
Venezuelan
government
that,
without
conservation
efforts,
the
destruction
of
mountain
forests
would
be
inevitable
and
would
create
droughts
in
the
Aragua
Valley
and
hasten
the
drying
up
of
Lago
de
Valencia,
Venezuela’s
largest
natural
inland
lake.
Much
of
the
park
is
covered
with
primeval
rain
forest,
and
it
is
home
to
more
than
500
different
species
of
birds.
In
addition,
hundreds
of
thousands
of
birds
and
insects
following
a
natural
migratory
route
fly
over
the
park
at
Portachuelo
Pass.
Originally
established
as
Rancho
Grande
National
Park,
it
was
renamed
for
Pittier
in
1953.
