Since
my
university
days
I
have
always
liked
to
visit
the
Sacred
Museum
of
Caracas,
so
seeing
a
renewed
version
of
the
facilities
was
extremely
pleasant.
The
collection
is
basically
the
same,
but
better
organized,
with
more
information
and
very
nice
room
lighting.
The
biggest
surprise
is
that
now
you
can
visit
the
spaces
between
the
Museum
and
the
Cathedral
where
there
are
archaeological
remains
of
the
founding
Caracas
and
crypts
such
as
those
of
Simón
Bolívar's
parents
and
wife.
My
favorite
space
was
always
the
ecclesiastical
prison
and
the
mass
grave,
and
it
still
is.
In
fact,
the
fixed
presentation
of
the
recreation
of
what
the
experience
of
a
Church
prisoner
must
have
been
like
is
really
brilliant.
On
a
negative
note,
not
from
the
Museum
but
from
its
visitors,
today,
like
fifteen
years
ago,
people
still
have
the
primitive
custom
of
throwing
money
into
the
common
grave.
An
innovative
aspect
is
that
now
the
visit
includes
a
tour
of
the
Archbishop's
Palace
of
Caracas,
which
I
did
not
know,
but
to
talk
about
this
part
of
the
tour
I
will
do
so
in
the
palace
file.
What
I
can
tell
you
is
that
the
guides
there
were
better
than
in
the
Sacred
Museum,
they
are
very
young
and
beyond
guiding
you
through
the
facilities
they
do
not
offer
information
about
the
collection,
with
the
exception
of
the
furniture
room,
the
guy
from
That
space
did
interact
with
visitors.
A
very
pleasant
experience
and
for
an
affordable
price
of
2
dollars.
As
a
curious
fact,
in
the
Museum
store
they
sell
very
beautiful
pieces
that,
given
the
prices,
I
hope
are
old
pieces
as
well.
