The Palace of the Academies, in the old nineteenth-century headquarters of the University of Caracas, is not only a haven, but a venerable space. The only thing missing would be more contemporary monuments, especially for female academics.

It was passing by, I felt it fall, I looked for a stream of water, I washed it and sat down in the Caracas afternoon to eat it. Happiness in few things.

Interesting place. It has a truly interesting internal plaza, one feels that one is not in the convulsed center. It also has bookstores by subject (politics, history, social, legal) with excellent publications and prices. They usually do events. It is recommended to go by metro or leave the car parked somewhere else.

Imposing, regal site, full of peace and quiet, where the academies of Sciences, History, Medicine, Language, Law and Economics are housed. It has an excellent library.

Repository of knowledge and history. It is not a museum, but there are beautiful sculptures of Venezuelan wise men. Its auditorium is a beautiful venue.
