This isn't much of a shopping center. I say this due to a small number of shops there and the size of these stores. You have plenty of parking nearby with a free option for 30 mins and a £1 per hour. It's also £1 for all day Sunday. There are public washrooms nearby which are very clean and on the weekends they have a few stalls with local products which can be nice. Inside you find a Poundland, Sports Direct, Clarks, a few phone repair shops, a gym, Holland and Barrett a record store, a children's stationary store, and Kitchen Haus, a perfume store. A very odd assortment of shops!

A nice little shopping centre with parking close by and excellent public toilets. Easy access to the town, where we visited the bank and had morning coffee.

I used to visit B&M Cex Save the Children in there, when it was originally built it was very popular Cinema, gaming shops big Coop store that was divided up into smaller units. Needs major stores again Aldi, TK Max, Home Bargains Smyths, Entertainer or another B&M and Cex then people won't have to leave brentwood for surrounding towns to spend their money. Won't happen in my time mind. Umm bye

I can see why this place is struggling to keep shops. Rents must be extortionate but the biggest problem are the floor tiles. They are extremely slippery when wet. If your shoes get wet from the rain outside, you'll be doing the "old person's shuffle" trying to get to the shops. If you're an old person over 70, imagine the stress, worrying if you're going to slip over and break your hip. Why bother? You'd find somewhere else do to your shopping. It's a long way from The Precinct of the past, it looks nice but is useless. Maybe Lidl or Aldi should've gone where Mac Market used to be! Now I'm showing my age but also my knowledge.

A lovely shopping centre. A pity so many units are currently empty. I hope it flourishes again.

Lots of units are empty, which seems such a shame. Personally I'd prefer to visit Billericay for shops over Brentwood. As the parking is free at weekends and the range of shops seems better.

This centre provides Brentwood with 4 or 5 very good shops and is always kept immaculately clean. Even down to the toilets, which stand out and without which Brentwood would have no such facilities. Council facilities could do with a complete re-fit. The Centre would be improved by letting off some more shops. It could be a thriving place.

A small shopping centre located on the High Street. I only stepped in the doorway and didn't go further. I did notice a good record shop that had a small coffee bar. I will definitely return there soon to buy a few LPs.

Only shopping mall in Brentwood with constant rumours of its demolition and a cinema being built there always in the air. Talk of the Borough Council pricing retailers out to achieve this aim abounds endlessly.... Only a handful of shops but a couple of real gems like Hey Joe's coffee and music store and the independent mobile phone shop at the back (which used to be on a handcart) and is always the place to go for advice and repairs (never been to the one next to Poundland.) A lot of change over the years-B&M closed several years ago and nothing reopened in its place, mobile phone store '3' has disappeared but is still listed there and Poundland has taken advantage of Wilko's demise and moved from the adjacent High Street into their vacant premises (which will be sadly missed.) Sports Direct (upstairs) The Works and the perfume shop get regular custom. The Square outside has also seen retailers come and go, CEX is another that sadly upped and left but Savers,EE and Card Factory are popular essentials. The Square also has seasonal events, there were Christmas activities yesterday with local performers and a German sausage hut usually resides over the festive period. Public toilets can be located at the rear of the centre.

Used to be better. Half the shops are empty as I understand the landlord won't grant a decent length lease. Updated to say that three quarters of the shops are empty now.

I have in Brentwood for 70 years and have unfortunately seen the demise of the High Street, unfortunately the Baytree Shopping Centre sounds move grand than it really is with only a handful of shops open, for years there has been plans to redevelop site and re open a cinema that was closed some 30 years ago, however despite these positive answers nothing happens, so to summarise, if your looking for a shopping centre with lots of shops then look somewhere else as you will be disappointed shopping at1 The Baytree Centre

Not much of a shopping centre considering half of the space is unoccupied. Mostly a spot for feral youth to congregate.

A tiny shopping centre without much character or choice of businesses. However, it is well maintained and what's there is well presented. Hoping to see it grow.

It's OK. It's a shopping center. No big deal. Most of the shops are closed. So same as other places. Main difference is the one shop on the inside corner never really remained open. Was a gallery for a short while then closed.

Sadly this mall is not giving of its potential as a shopping centre in the middle of Brentwood. It has limited footfall, largely generated by Wilkinsons, but it has a bit of a sagebrush feeling about it. I do not recall it ever being 'right'. Shame really

  • 3/5 John W. 1 year ago on Google
I guess it's about 60% occupied with retail but there needs to be more if its to justify the title of 'centre'. Certainly clean and tidy and good to see an empty unit being available for social use. But to most it's a way through from carpark to High Street.

There are various events throughout the year here , so definitely check the Baytree Centre website. Sports Direct , Wilko , Clarks , record shop/café, Claires accessories, perfume shop and phone shop is here.

Brentwood's only shopping centre which is tiny compared to the likes of a shopping centre found in nearby Romford. You might actually miss it as the main entrance is tucked away behind a listed building, Pepperell House, one of the few remaining timber-framed buildings and is a Creperie. The shops within the shopping centre are on ground level so easily accessible and has 2 entrances/exits, it's always clean and tidy with good lighting too. Walk past the left side of Pepperell House and you will see WH Smith (post office inside), Savers and Card Factory. On the left, you will see Natwest on the corner, a fashion clothing store and closer to the entrance, you will see EE (mobile phone shop), 3 (mobile phone shop) and CEX (buy and sell second hand goods). Within the shopping you will find a few some well-know high street brands like Wilko, Claire's, Holland & Barrett, Sports Direct, The Works, you'll also find hidden gems such as Hey Joe, a music and coffee shop that sells vinyls.

Lovely place ruined by consistent and frequent anti social behaviour and a high level of shoplifting

  • 3/5 Frank C. 2 years ago on Google
They should let the large empty space to Lidl or Aldi to give Sainsbury some competition.
