Nice shopping center, various shops to suit all tates, suitable for disabled shoppers, lots of parking available, on my visit I was there 2 hours at a cost of 70p. Indoor/outdoor shopping area, lots of space to move around, cash machines, food venues and parking payment machines. Lifts and toilets also available. Multiple car parks, make a note of you colour coded parking area

It's such a shame that this little shopping center from having all the good shops has gone to have no previous stores but cheap tacky warehouse clothing shops. they have close all the good stores. The public here is different,I would nt say they are polite people. I don't recommend this place

Enjoyed our walk around here. Nov 21 they were just getting Christmas Market stalls and attractions put in place. Plenty to see and do carpark was a bit confusing for getting out as most of it was closed off. Overall good.

Parking rules are shocking. We got a fine at carpark at st Peter's gate at top of hill where plaza is. Paid 4 pounds parking and got ticket because we were in bay for residents. Signs high on wall in small writing and only 5 spots for public. Revenue collecting

This small shopping area can be very handy, especially if it's raining. Although the sign says that dogs are not allowed except guide ones, we noticed a couple of dogs inside and decided to venture in with ours. Surprisingly, the security personnel didn't challenge us, and some of the shops even had treats for dogs that were offered to us. So, I'm not sure if dogs are allowed now and the sign is obsolete. Nevertheless, we encountered no problem whatsoever with our dog, and we were able to browse and buy things in some of the shops that we wouldn't have if he wasn't allowed inside.

The centre does now look a little dated but it still seems to be fighting off the decline better than most towns I've visited. So get out and shop there and maybe the growth of the high street shops will restart. 👍 I'd like to see Lush, Next come back, a few quirky retailers and the return of H@M. Come in..I know you can do it. 😁

Used to be our main shopping place but over past couple of years it is getting less and less attractive to go. Primark is prob one of main reasons people still come here. Seriously needs new blood.

Nice little shopping centre, it has a little bit of everything you need, like a tiny arndale centre. It's a shame the comic book shop is gone but to be fair that needs to be in the arndale where the other one is and it'll do alright. If you're hungry I recommend sterling meat co.

Interesting now there is some umbrella decoration and floral seating arrangements in the area, seems a lot of work is going on in here but at least most of the stores are still trading.

Only stopped off. To change buses on my journey. Did not have time to pop in. But from the outside looked very clean and inviting. Many years ago this would been my main town centre to shop in. Lots happy memories. Hopefully soon I can explore. I'm sure lots of stores have changed

At the moment, there's hardly any shops open. More scaffolding than access pavements. Even my bus stop was somewhere else. Won't be going again till the mess is sorted

I've not been to Merseyway Shopping Centre for a number of years I was pleasantly surprised. It looks completely different and there's still a lot of work going on to make it even better. It has large shops like Primark Boots etc. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

Excellent Christmas lights in the garden. Lots of reindeer for the kids to find (Cupid is a bit of a challenge). Light trail well laid out around the most even under foot parts of the grounds.

Lots of improvement work going on to upgrade shops no longer needed by old high street chains. Hopefully we'll have a decent town centre space in the near future.

Nice shopping complex. Like most places, not all shops are open but what I saw there was a good mix. Need more time to check whole area out. Will change rating if I go again.

It is a good shopping centre, with few brand shops. I bought shoes at a great sale. A big Primark is also there. But due to the construction work inside, I wasn’t able to roam around much. One interesting thing is the Pound Bakery over there. Anything you buy is 1 pound or less.

I personally like this centre, but I do go for certain items and a nice latte to finish the visit. The whole centre is going under refurbishment so more shops coming etc. It's going to look good.

  • 3/5 Damien B. 10 months ago on Google
OK selection of shops, my only concern is the parking, if you don't have cash, i.e., change for the ticket machine, you have to download an app which some people might be put off by. The redevelopment of the old bus depot looks really good

What was once a vibrant shopping centre is now a shadow of itself. An almost full half is now effectively closed off due to building work ( what is actually happening to the former stores is anyone's guess) and the opposite side has heras fencing erected with workmen replacing ( yet again) the paving stones so some stores have temporary paving in front of their entrances. Merseyway used to be a busy place, especially on a Saturday, but now, it's no busier than a small highstreet at best. Stockport Council has a lot to answer for by not reacting to the signs of poor footfall and poor building maintenance/management that was obvious to a blind man from 2000 onwards. All the major retailers have more or less pulled out of Merseyway and the companies that have moved into the empty shops appear to be fly by night, short term companies that are almost certain to end up closing down. The council needs to act now and turn the demise on its head and get those major retailers back into Merseyway ( not convert those empty stores into offices, which is one idea they've been floating with). Get the major retailers back and you'll get the footfall back, and in turn, you'll get the income back as well!

  • 3/5 Lyn B. 10 months ago on Google
I used to love shopping in Stockport, and it's a shame how many retailers are closing down. There's a lot of money being spent on improving the look of the place, so let's hope that it brings some back.

A shadow of its former self. Ok, it looks half decent but as a shopping experience, it is actually quite sad. I can't really recommend it.

  • 4/5 Stuart B. 8 months ago on Google
Various shops on offer such as phone shops, games shops, opticians, cafes, Smiths, jewelry shops, The Works and food shops. Close to Stockport indoor market. Good to browse round.

Its getting better but still not great unfortunately! however things seem to be improving and a lot of old shops are being developed so fingers crossed we can have a centre that we had many years ago.

  • 5/5 Sebastian M. 2 years ago on Google
Good for an outing when there's nothing else better to do. Can window shop, actually shop or just hang around and have some street food or sweets. Busy, but nice place for a weekend stroll.

  • 2/5 Michelle A. 7 months ago on Google
Very dismal 😢 what are the local council thinking spending money on things that local people have not chosen ? Spend money where we need it ! The shopping precinct and our famous market have sadly declined over the years with many of the Top brand retailer taking business elsewhere, high business rates and over priced rents. Winning the Carbuncle Cup 2017 for Redrock being voted the worst architectural eyesore, Grand central has been a disaster apart from the swimming pool, the towering buildings presently being built right near the shopping centre covering our historical viaduct are an eyesore.

  • 3/5 Chris S. 7 months ago on Google
I've seen a lot of changes over the years, and most, unfortunately, not for the better. Most of the big brands have either moved away or been forced out, and the number of empty spaces is quite alarming given the growth in population that should be capable of sustaining a health, vibrant, and busy shopping experience. Fingers crossed that one day it'll turn the corner. 🤞

  • 3/5 M. Obaid A. 2 years ago on Google
There is reasonable variety of shops. It's easy to access thanks to great transportation links. However, if you are planing to visit on car than keep in mind, the parking is not free, which I believe is the reason of less footfall. The car park is not expensive, but other shopping centres offer free car parking.

  • 3/5 Ana F. 6 months ago on Google
Parking available but instructions on how it works - none, shocking. There have been some improvements and there are some shops available like: Primark, river island, boots.. but still a few shops are empty. Directions boards and signals should be implemented to help visitors know where things are and improve their experience.

  • 3/5 Johnnie K. 6 months ago on Google
Like my 3 ⭐ rating and the current average it's OK but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit. They are other local shopping centres that have free parking and you can visit easily on the bus. Primark is the flag ship store here, the only high street store, the rest being a mix of coffee shops, opticians, phone shops, perfumery jewelers, shoe stores, rotating seasonal shops and expensive pop up fast food outlets. One permanent, McDonald's. Stockport council seems obsessed with forever renewing paving, street furniture and expanding council offices into vacant retail space. This town centre is a work in progress and I look forward to the day when it's finally finished. NO MORE PAVING PLEASE!

  • 3/5 t G. 4 months ago on Google
All right, they need to drop their rent, so they can get new shops in and stop having eating places.

  • 4/5 Karen B. 2 years ago on Google
Good choice of shops compared to some towns.Effort gone in to try and make centre appealing benches, bins and ongoing cleaning. Not as many pound shops and charity shops as some towns but with the likes of M&S and Debenhams closing this has had some effect on it's appeal apposed to out of town shopping.

Nice shopping centre. Under construction (sept 22). Car park on top of the centre looked after by ncp. Had the major food outlets eg Costa and MacDonalds. I used O2, fantastic service.

Clearly much work to improve the area is taking place and that is great. However, the makers market was open and a great atmosphere was around, nice stalls and food selection.

This is a medium-sized shopping centre with various shops like bookstores, jewellery shops and cafes. There are some decorations and mini carousel in the outdoor area.

  • 4/5 Martyn P. 1 year ago on Google
I just wanted to see if things had changed since the last time I was there so I had a little walk around the centre. It's been a while since the last time I was there and I noticed that a lot of the shops have closed but that's probably because of the recent COVID pandemic and this cost of living crisis. All the usual places were still open though it just felt quieter than usual but I still managed to get a nice coffee and a pastry from a local Gregg's and it was a surprisingly sunny day which was nice.

  • 4/5 Inge H. 1 year ago on Google
Not half the shopping centre it used to be years ago when you could get everything you needed in one place. A lot of work being done which is well overdue. Need to lower rents to get more well known shops back

  • 3/5 w a. 2 years ago on Google
I used to love coming here , it used to offer much more . There isn't enough shops or Caffè's here . I can tell that they did spent a lot of money on the cinema side complex and car park , that side is good . But Merseyway shopping side where all the shops are is very boring. They can definitely benefit from more shops, stands , Caffè and restaurants. Big shops like M&S and also small business and clothes boutiques and other home , toys and furnishings shops needed , probably few more pop up sheds similar to what they have around Christmas . In short the council or who ever is responsible for the management need to drive more businesses in there , until then I prefer to go to Manchester.

  • 3/5 Mickey 1 year ago on Google
Kinda feels like it's stuck in the 90s. Plus they still have a Christmas tree up... In May. Most of the outlets are closed. Seemed like the pound bakery was the busiest place which kinda sums up the place.

Used to go here a lot but now not really impressed. Many of the original large stores are gone ie M/S etc. Lots of building work going on so scope for improvement in the future however lots of empty shops which need to be occupied to bring back life into the shopping

  • 2/5 Amanda M. 1 year ago on Google
Had to walk a long way round as the walk way is shut and all the shops you used to walk through have gone. The precinct has looked like a building site for ages and there arnt many shops left. Won't be rushing back.

  • 3/5 Simon T. 1 year ago on Google
Difficult parking and a rundown town centre. It's just awkward trying to go to Stockport and without free parking it's a last resort for me. The precinct is old and ugly and desperate need of renovating. There's very little to actually do there either. My kid said basically you can go to the cinema and eat if you're young.

  • 4/5 Catarina Lopes (. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely space with a wide variety of shops and its the heart of town. I really recommend a stoll there as there's always something happening there. The only thing that i dislike just a little bit is the fact that it always has some type of works on site, but I suppose that to improve things, this needs to be done.

  • 5/5 Lee P. 1 year ago on Google

If I were you I would go up to the indoor market and start there, the shops are more interesting and the coffee is cheaper, and the food is better.

  • 5/5 DeDong H. 1 year ago on Google
Clean and nice but Sotckport centre has become more and more quiet recently. It's lost the vibe it used to have with all of the shops open and people running around. Majority of the shops are now closed and the place is slowly becoming more and more quiet and have a ghost town kind of feel to it. I wish it can be revived and more businesses can be brought in, would be really sad to see the place me and my friends used to grow up get turned into a ghost town

  • 3/5 Becca A. 1 year ago on Google
It's ok and worth a look around if your not from the area but isn't what it was. At the moment it hard to navigate due to all the building work. Be aware tho that the car park do charge and the main one is now pay on an app. There isn't the shops like that of the Trafford Centre. However, it you're visiting Definitely pop into the produce Hall for some food which is located in the market.

Had a ride up one Saturday, never been here before so it was nice to see what it was like. Chinese lanterns up for Chinese new year. Clean and tidy shopping mall. Partly inside and partly outside. Lots of different types of shops. Worth a visit if your passing.

I’ve lived in Stockport all my life and this is the worst I’ve ever seen the town centre. Poor shopping experience, most stores and big names have left. The council poured money into redrock and today, on a Saturday, that area was a ghost town. Many of the buildings look dishevelled and unappealing. There is no reason to visit anymore. Parking is over priced. Two recent casualties are Clinton’s and GAME have closed their stores. (Game are now in sports direct) It’s not a pleasant experience anymore, and it makes me sad for what we once had.
