We visited Cambridge specifically to eat at Stem & Glory for our anniversary. We were very impressed! The food was delicious, tasty, well presented and great portions. All the staff were friendly, helpful and offered great menu advice. The buffalo cauliflower wings where wonderful. A fabulous vegan experience!

Very very overpriced and no taste at all. As starters we got the trio of dips, more like no taste trio. I got the pesto pizza and it only tasted like pesto. My partner got the kimchi bowl, it was very dry not enough dressing and also no flavour at all. The apple lavender latte looks very pretty but taste like hot milk. The food looks very pretty, if you only care about posting it online totally recommended.

Wholly disappointing PB restaurant. Our last last night in Cambridge so we’d thought we’d give a full PB place a go but this is what gives us PBers a bad name. The food was flavourless on a mountain of black rice. The uneaten food was comp’d to be fair but do not recommend at all. Staff friendly but incompetent.

Decided to choose Stem & Glory purely down to Google recommendations for gluten-free restaurants in the Cambridge area, and it certainly didn't disappoint. The food was delicious and very generous portions for both mains and dessert!! Can't wait to come back and try out the other dishes on the menu 😋

I last went to Stem and Glory some years ago in its original venue. It was decent, but I didn’t feel the need to return. This time? Oh my goodness. I will be back. The menu has had a full revamp and is full of exciting and interesting dishes. It is a bit of a crazy mixture of different ideas but somehow it works! What I particularly enjoyed was the flavour combinations that I hadn’t come across before - the sour/sweet green onion and miso sauce with the kimchi pancakes, the funky ferments of the pickles, the creamy cauliflower sauce that came with the king oyster mushroom stems and artichoke dish - try it mixed with the fermented capers in the pickles. And for goodness sake order some of their garlic bread to mop all the sauce up at the end, it is outstandingly good. Things to improve? The lighting is a bit bright - a bit more mood lighting would help! The drinks menus are illegible… Just get them printed on a bit of paper, it will be fine :-) And It would be nice to have a bottle of water on the table when we come in. Overall, the service was excellent, the prices very fair, and the staff and chefs were very happy to answer all our questions and were very welcoming and helpful. I will be coming back. Not because it’s vegan, that is distinctly not a selling point for me. I will be coming back because the food is fantastic and intriguing. The presentation is beautiful. And the staff are excellent. One of the best meals I’ve had in Cambridge in years.

I don't usually write reviews but this place is so disappointing I had to write one. I visited this place on two occasions because I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately, it was underwhelming both times. This place is way too expensive for the quality of the food you get. Everything looks very pretty and premium, but the taste just isn't there at all. So far I have tried: - Kimchi Tortilla Bowl - dry, the kimchi pancake has no kimchi flavour and there's not nearly enough dressing so I ended up eating some sad dry rice and edamame. - Yogi Bowl - again, no dressing, just a little bit of sauce squirted on the side (see pic) and way too much quinoa so it feels very unbalanced. However, the multiseed crackers are great! - Trio of Dips - literally tasteless, the only okay one was the hummus but it still wasn't great. - Lavender Latte - looks gorgeous but this just tastes like milk, there's no lavender taste. - Salted Caramel Latte - actually quite nice, it did taste like caramel and was nice to drink. There's loads of other restaurants in Cambridge with tastier vegan options and better prices. It's a shame though because the train station location was so convenient.

I really enjoyed my first visit to the fully vegan restaurant Stem and Glory. It was great to have to the choice of a full menu as usually I only have one vegan option. The service was friendly and quick and they had a good online payment system so we could pay easily when we wanted to leave. The food was really good and we tried a range of things between us. The ravioli was a favourite of mine. The wine and cocktails were also very good. Hopefully I’ll return soon!

Firstly, I love to see a vegan restaurant, keep up the great ethics. Sadly everything lacked a little bit - the food was ok, the service was ok and the ambiance was ok. Had the price been lower, I would have given higher reviews but my expectations were really high for some of the prices. The garlic bread was tasty, as were the patatas bravas, I wouldn't repeat order the tempeh curry, cauliflower or the tiramisu which was very dry. Good for a quick meal, but not a "special" one. Love to see vegan so accessible to the train station.

Such delicious food, such friendly service (thank you lovely Faith) and nice relaxing ambience too. This was my second visit. The first time I visited I had my dog with me-yes they are dog friendly. This visit was booked in advance for a table of 6. Unfortunately the pizza oven was broken so we had to rethink our orders, but honestly we'd have happily eaten anything on the menu. Service was super friendly and fast. Coffee was good. The oyster mushroom tacos were light, fresh and delicious. My partner and I shared the caramel tiramisu-vegan tiramisu is very hard to come by and this was light and delicious, served with a creamy espresso shot. I love this part of Cambridge-the area by the station is full of places to grab food or a coffee and there is plenty of parking (although the station car park will set you back £12.50!). Register your blue badge online (guidance on the signage) to benefit from free parking.

Came here with my partner for her birthday and had, without a doubt, the best meal out experience all year. From the moment we arrived staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Matthew welcomed us and was always on hand whenever we needed or wanted anything. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, the place was spotlessly clean, the music was the perfect gentle background volume. Then the food arrived, and it was utterly phenomenal. Rich and vivid, very generous portions, and everything tasted incredible and fresh. (Particular shout out to the best tiramisu I've ever had). The first time I've ever visited a restaurant and bought their cook book on the way out! Can't recommend it enough and can't wait for our next visit :)

I have visited Stem and Glory a few times over the last year and recieved nothing but exceptional food and service. As a vegan, I cannot recommend this place enough for a hearty brunch, light lunch, coffee or cake - it all tastes delicious! My favourite so far is the tofu scramble which is always perfectly flavoured and served with proper thickly-sliced bread. The banana bread is also lush and so reasonably priced. Really love the salad bar too, but make sure to leave room for cake - there's always a few tempting slices. The space is very pretty but small, so if you really want to sit down and enjoy your food, make sure to arrive in good time. Staff have always been wonderful to me and I've almost felt at home in their company. Vegan or not, you will enjoy every bite, leave with a full belly and looking forward to your next visit (I know I already am!)

Lovely food, bit on the pricey side and some dishes might be a bit salty for some (i.e. perfect for me). The gnocchi are particularly good; the sticky toffee pudding is nice but more of a moist ginger cake. Overall a positive experience, would certainly come again.

Enjoyed the food. Interactions I had with staff were good. Measures are perhaps in place for Covid reasons which is good, helpful, but I thought it was a bit much to have customers order and pay via the QR code then automatically add the 12.5% AND additionally ask for a tip

We are not vegans, but we really enjoyed the food - it was delicious. Service was very attentive, and we felt like valued diners. We don't live in Cambridge but if we did we would certainly return!

Attentive & friendly service, chill atmosphere, tasty food and nice cocktails. A varied menu with plenty to choose from & all plant-based! 🌱 We enjoyed our mains; the pumpkin ravioli is served with plenty of buttery sauce which masked the flavour of the pumpkin somewhat, but was still delicious. The small plates are the highlight, so I’d recommend getting a bunch of those. The jackfruit tacos, garlic bread & tiramisu were also 👌🏼 Generous portion sizes too

We were looking for a plant based restaurant for my partner while visiting the Junction for a gig. The food choice was broad with varying specials on offer. I opted for the ‘traffic light’ curry which was roasted beetroot with a very spicy green curry. Very enjoyable. The tiramisu for dessert was a fine ending to my meal all accompanied by a craft stout. Spent £60+ for two people plus drinks and coffee. We will return when in Cambridge.

Very lovely vegan restaurant in Cambridge. The selection was very interesting, I tried the oyster mushroom bowl while my husband had pumpkin ravioli. We shared the black forest cake for dessert. It's always refreshing to go to a vegan restaurant, the oyster mushrooms were flavored perfectly. I also got the cookbook, excited to try some of their signature recipes. A bit of a shame that the bowl itself wasn't among the recipes in the book, but the ones available all sound just as great.

Absolutely amazing food, even for non-vegans! Everything tasted fresh, with lots of new and exciting flavours, and generous portions for all 3 courses. Service was excellent too, would highly recommend to anyone.

Tasty vegan dishes, beautifully presented. I really enjoyed the trio of dips and the pizza I had was amazing. Cordial atmosphere and attentive service from friendly staff. Lovely to see the food being prepared behind the counter too.

The place is nicely done up. Staff were friendly and even though we stayed for a very long time after finishing our food on a busy night, we were left alone. The dirty burger was amazing! The patty looked and tasted like meat. It had a very smokey flavour and had the right texture. The baked chips, although were not crispy, they were still very tasty, and as a big eater and meat lover, I did not feel hungry after the 1 course, and I would totally go vegan if I was able to cook this myself.

  • 5/5 Steven C. 2 years ago on Google
Had a lovely meal at this vegan restaurant. Started with the trio of dips and cauliflower wings - first time I ever eaten pickled turnip - amazing. Followed but the dirty burger with chips and pizza. The food, the waiting staff and restaurant all made the whole evening a very good experience. Will go back again and try all the other dishes.

Stem & Glory has very pleasant staff and crockery. The watermelon salad was lovely too. However, the other dishes were executed poorly, the pasta clumped together in a watery sauce with random capers to shock your palate. The tofu dish overwhelmed you with far too much salt from some vegetable stock. If my partner served this at home, it would become the following days chicken food. But, the fresh mint tea was great, so for quick cupa, salad and chat, perfect.

Food is tasty, I really enjoyed the dirty burger. The cauliflower wings and cherry crumble were pretty tasty but could've had better textures. Inside the restaurant is lovely

Absolutely adored my meal here on Friday night. The staff were attentive and friendly and went the extra mile catering to my coeliac disease and gluten free needs. Most of the menu is gluten free anyway so I had plenty of choice (delicious beer too!) It's interesting to see the carbon footprint of each dish and everything we ate tasted fresh and had heaps of flavour. We'll definitely be back again. Such a fabulous meal.

Lovely starters and pickles!! 😍 Portions are quite generous. They were missing quite a few bits from the menu when I got there, but they seem to have interesting main courses and drinks too. I wasn't impressed by the dessert to be honest. Staff is super friendly.

Great vegan place conveniently near Cambridge railway station. The food is good - tasty, good variety on the menu. The small plates are actually quite filling. The decor is modern and clean. What I loved most about the food was it's focus on whole natural foods - some vegan places have a lot of very processed foods on the menu. The other great thing about this place is the friendliness of the staff - the waitress was so lovely, helpful, and attentive without being overbearing. I definitely recommend a visit.

Stem + glory offers an impressive range of vegan dishes, and as a fully vegan restaurant has food that is often hard to find elsewhere in Cambridge. The food we tried was all interesting and had quite unique flavours due to the innovative ways they used their ingredients, and was also all beautifully presented. Certainly is more on the ‘healthy’ side, so if you’re looking for a fresh and lighter meal this is the perfect place (but maybe not if you want more indulgent vegan food)! Adding the carbon footprint of each dish was also a thoughtful touch and not something I have seen before in any other restaurant.

Such a great place! The food was phenomenal.....I had to take some bites before a photograph. It has a great atmosphere, that's very relaxed whilst maintaining very high standards. Amazing selection of dishes and cocktails - The pumpkin ravioli was one of the best things I've ever eaten. Shereen, who served our table, was helpful, friendly and really helped us enjoy our night. This place deserves all the good praise it gets!

The perfect introduction to plant based foods! Regardless of dietary preference this food is outstanding and on top of that the drinks menu and customer service as well as pricing are all excellent! Kimchi pancakes were one of the most enjoyable dishes I have had anywhere in a long time and so good that I even ordered a second portion! I can not express how much I enjoyed my visit and would highly recommend this place to anybody!

Lovely vegan restaurant. Had a great lunch. Only way it could be better is if they served meat. Joke. I had the gnocchi - was delicious. Highly recommended, and I was happy to pay the extra pound to have a tree planted as part of their mission to reduce carbon. Also liked the carbon scoring on the menu - really good idea. Go try it!

Absolutely brilliant place! We went here for my hen party and they were so accommodating. With it being a large party, Jim communicated with us beforehand and he was polite and helpful. On the day they popped up some decorations for us (which my mum dropped off the day before). Food was unbelievably good and all 12 of us loved both courses. Fresh food, delicious flavours and excellent service. Most guests are not veggie/ vegan and all commented on how good it was. My friend noted that her vegan pizza was better than a regular pizza. Thanks for a lovely afternoon!

It was really great! HUGE portion. I over ordered - the Asian bowl + Pickles and Ferments. Took home the leftovers I bigger glass for my sparkling water would have been nice, and cleaner toilets. Overall really good. Nobody said goodbye as I left which was a shame. But all in all pretty good 👌🏻

Always an enjoyable experience here. I have taken my aunt here as she has a life threatening shellfish allergy but loves shellfish. Being able to go somewhere fully plant based and offers fake scallops - and similar in taste - was so nice! She was SO happy. Today, I went back for the 3 course tasting menu we got as a gift. What's included at this time? A glass of fizz, a glass of wine (cheapest one of either white, rose or red) and a 3 course meal. Such good value too. The "fish" tacos were great as an appetiser and the Italian stew was really tasty! We are lovers of kimchi and for personal taste, felt the kimchi from the pancakes tasted more like coleslaw with liquid smoke & bbq flavours. The desserts were delicious! Fun to have a tasty vegan cheesecake and the creme brulee was made perfectly! Great service as well. Always has :-) If ever nearby the station, this place has indoor and outdoor seating and is worth a visit! One of my favourite restaurants in Cambridge.

Food was really tasty and i highly recommend. Because we used a voucher there was a bit of confusion by the staff where we were advised of something first than something different by another member of staff.. However they managed to sort and we had our 3 course meal with drinks included Will most likely come back when im back in cambridge

no problems with service and place was gorgeous, but food was overpriced and not the best. the small plate with oyster mushroom scallops was so expensive for 3 bites of mushroom. we love gnocchi but there was something wrong with the gnocchi, seemed stale or dried out or frozen and reheated, not sure but it didnt taste fresh and was a very small portion. kimchi pancakes were good. we want to support vegan restaurants but we were frustrated having spent so much money and still hungry after and having to go get more food from itsu

Great selection of thoughtful, plant based dishes. Child friendly (but not a tacky kids restaurant), my children enjoyed the golden hummus with crudités and seed crackers, along with a vegan pizza. It’s refreshing to find a pure vegan menu, instead of one or two afterthought options. Dishes range from healthy salads to pizza, stuffed pasta through to a vegan ‘dirty’ burger served with chunky wedges. Something for everyone and reasonably priced too. Definitely worth a visit!

Really over priced for what we had. The food tasted good but when ordering the bao buns we got one small bun and the rest was cabbage and a side of chips. I would have preferred no sides and more bao buns especially when being charged £14 a portion. The tempeh ribs were 4 small bits along with the 2 sides. Again, it tasted okay but just not worth paying the £14 for. The service was really good, we were served by a nice woman with blue hair who made us feel so welcome and could talk about all the food. The food tasted so good but it just wasn't worth the cost for the sizes. Overall we all left really disappointed, the meal cost £71 for 3 mains, 2 starters and 3 drinks. This is insane! It is just a small cafe and we all left really dissapointed.

We had a wonderful meal at S&G for my son's 18th and husband's 50th. The food was amazing - really creative, fresh and beautifully cooked. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. They even took my rather messy looking homemade birthday cake and tarted it up with fresh fruit and flowers to make it look lovely!! We will definitely be going back!

Went there last week on a Saturday night, it has a calm atmosphere with minimal and simple interior. The menu is brilliant, quite a lot of choices from starter to main : rice to bun, soup, salad. I chose to order a mix choice of starter. The quality of the food is great. You can tell that it is fresh. I enjoy the creative and like the delicate but simple presentation. Love most of the dish. In one dish there are flavours and texture ( soft , crunchy, earthy , spicy). I can see the thought behind. The 2 least favourite are the spicy tofu.I find the chilli sauce in tofu is a bit too potent and too sweet to be a dressing. ( May be just me ). And taco. I didn’t order main but would love to try next time. Staffs are amazing very nice and try to accommodate to my requests. Very impressed and would highly recommend

Delicious food and coffee. Daily special is really good. The rest is more brunch style food and snacks. We had the scrambled tofu, cauliflower curry and it was delish! Outdoor area is not the most comfortable to sit, wooden chairs and the inside is quite small too. Great stop off for a fast and healthy vegan meal though if you are in the centre of Cambridge.

The most delicious vegan meal I've had in a long time! I had the Yogi Bowl, the portion was very generous, full of fresh and varied ingredients - definitely recommend this dish. The staff were so lovely and welcoming, the interior was very clean, and outdoor seating ensured tables were a safe distance away from each other. I can't wait to come back when I'm next in Cambridge!

I ate here three times and I think the high reviews are for breakfast and for the nice service. The coffee and breakfast is good here, but proper meals are not. . The food is overpriced and does not really taste well . The gnocchi (13 pounds) were clearly not self made ( which would be ok if the sauce was nice )...there were maybe two tomatoes and the pesto was not really pesto and had a weird leafy consistency and an even weirder taste. I do not know how you can charge 13 pounds for that? That is just too much. You would have to offer a bit more and a better taste for that price. The other plate I ate was rice with vegetarian curry. Very unpleasant. I did not finish it. I am really open minded when it comes to food. But the place is just bland for lunch and dinner.

This busy restaurant has friendly staff with a generous vegan offering, but is let down by the cramped seating and 'student sandwich shop' feel. We had the winter beetroot pate on sourdough to start, followed by a couple of 'Yogie Bowls' (golden hummus, quinoa tabbouleh, crudités, leaves, grilled tofu, seed crackers, edamame beans + seeds). While all dishes were perfectly OK, none were remarkable and all were under-seasoned. I've been to a lot of vegan restaurants and I just can't put it up there with the best. I certainly wouldn't say no to coming here again, but I also won't be raving about it to anyone.

Large gigantic portion sizes - decent prices. Service is moderate. Booking is recommended in advance - especially for parties greater than 2. The seats are narrow and shakes if you are seated on the stool seats. The tables are also very close together - making it difficult to have private conversations in pubic.

Lucky to get a table without a reservation on a Sunday. Food was delicious with the tempeh bacon as a solid block of savoury well balanced against the other components of the dish. Even the bread has a lot of flavour and toasts well. Staff were attentive and service was quick. Would be happy to see them move to a larger location so that it would be easier to drop in.

"… and what milk would you like?" Oh yeah, no cow milk of course... Very very charming staff, would go back just for that, but my food preferences lie just a little bit differently.

The guy serving us told us that tap water would be £5. He was joking but delivered the joke with such a straight face it felt quite uncomfortable and not very funny. Also, once we’d paid at the counter and left he came running up after us down the road saying we hadn’t paid. I explained that we had paid and he apologised and left. None of this was a real inconvenience, I just felt like I couldn’t go on in life without recording this series of weird interactions. The food was good though.

This is Cambridge's best restaurant by far! The staff are unbelievably friendly, the food is fresh, innovative and absolutely beautiful! Everytime I come here I am offered the same fantastic service time and time again which is a rarity with some restaurants which can be hit and miss. Stem + Glory is also very accommodating with allergies. For instance, I am allergic to dairy and gluten and they are fantastic at still offering me a large section of the menu, and even offering to adapt otherwise glutenous dishes to suit my need if I really want them. I have introduced many non-vegans to this restaurant and every single one have fallen in love and now take their friends. Price range wise, the menu is not a considerable amount of money. Most meals ranging from £7-14. They even offer small plates, which are still main meals but for those of us who don't eat massive portions. Overall, I can't recommend enough, I am literally in love with the place. Fair price for their food and the fact that everything is ethically sourced and seems to be bought local (as you will see from drinks menu) it is a bargin meal out. My advice- just go go go!

Great for students on Wednesdays as they get 2 meals for 1. Very small so you need to book. They turned 4 tables away while we where there as the tables where booked (but empty the whole time we where there) bad for business really

Great food, served by helpful friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble and we were even given tasting samples of the main courses when we couldn't decide on which one. Generous portions and a great wine list, and a complimentary glass of fizz for the birthday girl rounded off a great meal.

Booked for our anniversary dinner and had such a lovely time. Staff were friendly and attentive, the food was excellent, in fact it was so good we ended up heading back for Sunday lunch the next day! I have to say, the redefine beef flank blew my mind, so tasty, we will definitely be back.
