Probably the best vegan Jamaican food in Bristol! Portions are massive I can't always eat it all in one, tried nearly every main on menu by now and would say my faves are the chickpea curry, sweet and sour strips and the Jamaican curry chunks! I always get a rice with the main and some sides, all the sides are delicious and every portion size is generous. The juices are great as well especially love the ginger and pineapple! Can't wait to go back again.

Amazing!!! Delicious meal shared with friends post workout, so good, had plantain, dumplings and jerk tofu which was too good to put into words. Props for being an all vegan business too! One suggestion would be to update the online menu to match the deliveroo prices since they are a fair bit higher.

Very nice restaurant, the food feels like what you would eat at home, I mean that in a good way, like clean healthy food. The jerk tofu was so good and the chickpea curry also was great. Overall great vegan restaurant.

First time we tried but I can say it was a Delicious Jamaican vegan food in good size of portions. We tried three different meals and shared with each other. The skpicy ginger, cinnamon and curry flavour was perfectly balanced. I loved the crispy dumplings. So basic but so delicious. All food was perfect without any kind of meat. The Fi Real ginger- pineapple during was nice, too.

Had the chickpea curry with rice and peas and partner had tofu jerk with spicy kale. Both delicious. The curry is a very reasonable portion. Everything was delicious and flavoursome. Super friendly staff.

Really delicious, and filling, they were big portions but I ate every bit of it! I got the jerk tofu, rice and peas and fried plantains. I'm definitely going back.

Great vegan food. Very tasty. Helpful service. We were the only people there on Sunday soon after 6pm, but other tables were reserved, so it was going to get busier. Definitely going back when we're in Bristol

Really good independent vegan restaurant. The jerk tofu was brilliant full of flavour. I had a main and two sides and was really full. The food is full of flavour and I really appreciate that it’s a full vegan restaurant. Would deffo go again!

I didn't wait long at all for my food, curry soya chunks recommendation was delicious, hearty and a great portion. Lemon and blueberry cake was so moist too! Super friendly staff, can't wait to revisit and try other dishes they didn't have available.

I was SO excited to try this place! I called ahead on Sunday evening and had a table booked for Monday night but when we got to the door they were closed? No update on their social media and not answering the phone. I will try to eat here again but I was very disappointed :(

Been here twice now and it has blew my mind both times. The food is just incredible. Really authentic, fresh food made with care. One of the best places in Bristol I've eaten in and is also really healthy.

Incredible food. The jerk tofu is like nothing I’ve ever tasted before. Best plantain I’ve ever eaten too. Highly recommended

Amazing tasty Jamaican food than is also vegan... What is not to love! The dumplings were large and crisp, rice and peas flavourful and cooked right, and the peppered strips left me full but wanting to try everything else on the menu. Homemade drinks, chill music, vibe, and people. Definitely would come back to Bristol just for this restaurant!

  • 5/5 Poppy C. 2 years ago on Google
Honestly some of the best food I've ever eaten, and at a really reasonable price too. We had the jerk tofu with spicy kale, the Jamaican curry, rice and peas, and some fried dumplings. Everything was cooked beautifully. We will definitely be visiting again. You'll be missing out if you don't give this place a go!

Love this place! Felt nurtured by the food, fantastic flavours and a relaxed atmosphere. How do they cook the tofu to make it like this!? Will be back! ☺️

Ordered home delivery. My first time eating African food. Very happy I did. We ordered ackee, okra stew and vegan jerk chicken with rice and beans... All were very nice. If you're Indian, it will feel like you're eating home cooked food ! Very satisfying.

Arrived at the restaurant and saw my friend was in distress. The drink he bought contained nuts, of which he is allergic to. There was no signs pointing out what did or did not contain nuts, no signs showing the ingredients that were used to create the dishes. The drinks had no labels on them to direct people who may have these issues. When brought up to the lady who was taking orders she was cold and didn’t care. Acting like it wasn’t an issue they caused a serious allergic reaction. They also said to us “well this hasn’t been a problem before”, disgraceful. I recommend implementing changes to your food standards and safety in future. Re-Edit: After a further response I am happy with how management have acted in response to the issues my friend has faced. I have asked him to respond on instagram in regards to this. I can understand my review may come across as angry or upset, which I was at the time. I do think this place is lovely and would never recommend someone to not eat here. I hope in future this doesn't happen to anyone else and I am happy to come back in and have a meal. I have removed my previous response as I did not feel it represented my attitudes and was not a respectful review to provide. I have changed my review to be more respectful of this and in future may change it again to be higher. All the best,

This place is so delicious! And it's incredible that everything is vegan. Living in New York, I have had some very good vegan food, but this was seriously some of the best! The peppered strips and the spicy kale with tofu were some of my favorite dishes.

  • 5/5 Janet C. 1 year ago on Google
Recommended restaurant to my daughter and her fiancé. I live in Derbyshire and saw Come Dine with Me featuring this restaurant which won! It is a vegetarian restaurant and as my daughter and her partner are vegetarians recently having moved to Bristol I encouraged them to try the food which they did last night. They absolutely loved everything about the food, declaring it to be amazing and delicious!!!!!! Five stars !!!!! Plus a lot more!!

I just eat at Fi Real and it was lovely. I had the jerk tofu with spicy kale, rice and beans and steamed veg. Everything was delicious. A special mention to the steamed veg, which was so tasty. I wish I knew how they did it so I could eat it every day. I a world where so many vegan places are all junk food, this was some different. Wholesome, healthy, and tasty food that made me feel so happy. I will be back, next time I am in Bristol.

Loved it!!! I had the more tasty and warming soup/stew dish here, okras and butter beans is the name. And then I had some fried plantain. The cook and the waiter were very friendly and the environment is nice. The music choice is also great and the volume is just perfect. The decoration of the place is lovely. I will definitely come back! Thank you

Had high hopes for this place but they were not met. The food was reasonably nice but just very basic. Like the kind of thing you'd cook for yourself. To reply to the owner: there are some meals that are hearty and delicious and eschew the pretentiousness of fancy presentation. That's a valid category of eating out, but it's not what I meant. I mean when I pay to go out to eat, I expect something more than what I'd quickly rustle up without making an effort, particularly if the portion is small.

Relaxed spot for great vegan Caribbean food and friendly staff The dumplings and jerk tofu were our favourites, but everything was good and the portions were generous

  • 3/5 Ollie R. 11 months ago on Google
The jerk tofu was great and the plantains were delicious (tho the serving was a bit small). But the lentil stew and other veges were pretty bland and there’s not much going on in the way of decor or vibe

  • 5/5 Gary C. 1 year ago on Google
I was taken here by my Vegan daughter and I have to say I was very impressed. The food was really great and the person who served customers was very nice. Is it making me rethink my meat eating ways.... NO, but I will certainly go back here when I am next in the area.

  • 4/5 Max 5 years ago on Google
Lovely place and amazing vegan food. 4 stars cause the menu; not a lot of variety. In three times I went there not all of the meals on the menu were available. No dessert available. They don't make you a smoothie at the dinner time, hopefully you can find some of them on the fridge made previously. Although this little negative things the food is amazing and there is a lovely atmosphere in the local. You must try the "Jerk tofu" from the menu. Heaven

Absolutely delicious soul food, it’s a real gem to have this place. It’s music to my vegan belly as their dishes are so tasty and moreish. The side dishes are not to be missed, the texture of the dumplings was spot on. Definitely recommend.

  • 5/5 George L. 4 years ago on Google
Probably my favourite vegan food in Bristol and that's saying a lot. You don't often get Caribbean cuisine offered in vegan but here it surpasses even the best. Jerk tofu with rice n peas is divine. Didn't think you could get tofu to soak up as much flavour as it does here; add a side of plantain and you're laughing.

AMAZING VEGAN CARIBBEAN FOOD ❤️?? Hands down this is the best place in Bristol. My children like it as much as their grandmothers food!?? If not more!?? We had the Tofu, Sweet n Sour, Curry Chunks & Rice. Perfect portion sizes.Very reasonable prices for the quality. ?

  • 5/5 Ferra B. 3 years ago on Google
Got food from here via deliveroo. Had the Caribbean chunks which really reminded me of goat curry. It was lovely and the soya bits really surprised me. Good texture and yeah, lovely lovely tastes. Also had the dumplings, a favourite of my partners. They were lovely, best I’ve had! And finished it off with some of their banana cake which was out of this world. Will definitely be returning for their jerk tofu. Great portions for the price you pay. Thanks!

This food was absolutely incredible! I can’t say enough good things. I worked in the Caribbean for years and haven’t found a delicious authentic vegan style Caribbean meal since leaving the islands until now. Can not wait to go again! I got take out due to COVID but plan on dropping in once restrictions are eased. May even get a few more take outs between now and then. Thanks ?

Ordered on deliveroo. Got the jerk tofu with spiced kale, rice and peas. Also got the Jamaican banana cake and a strawberry and banana smoothie. The jerk tofu was delicious, well seasoned with crispy skin, very well complimented by the kale and rice. The banana cake was lovely and moist with great flavour, and a very decent portion for the price. The smoothie was so sweet i want more! Delivery was very quick, definitely recommend this restaurant for any veggies or vegans wanting some proper Jamaican food.

Ordered through deliveroo so cant comment on physical restaurant. Food was very tasty. I had the jerk tofu and kale and the flavour was awesome. The banana cake was the best I have ever had. The sultanas were plump and the sponge moist. I enjoyed it so much. I would thoroughly recommend this place.

(A review from my 9 year old daughter, Ivy) I loved the banana and strawberry smoothie because it was really sweet and fruity and super flavoursome and I loved my dumplings ang rice and even though the spinach was spicy I mixed it with my rice and it was delicious ✌️??‍♂️ (A review from me) As Ivy said, the food was delicious and full of flavours. I had the Ital stew and it definitely lived up to it's name! We brought a non vegan friend here. He had a wonderful time and absolutely loved the food, thumbs up! ?? Wonderful, friendly service... We will defo be back xxx

We went to visit some friends in Bristol and they kindly researched and found Fi Real. I am vegan and although lots of restaurants do salads and a Lynda MCartney burgers, few actually cook anything Vegan. We arrived and were greeted by a friendly chap who told us to order at the counter. Nice simple menu with a range of dishes, all Vegan. When the food came, my friend said the flavours were very authentic and although vegan, she was amazed as a meat eater how fantastic the food was. I loved it. I would recommend anyone go here whilst in Bristol and have some great food, Vegan or not. 5 stars :-)

Fantastic food. Very unique menu! We couldn't make up our minds as the choices all sounded so good.. Both marie and her husband were very welcoming even at 9pm with a big group of us! Will be revisiting as often as possible!

  • 1/5 Kerusha R. 4 years ago on Google
I was shocked at the portion of okra and butter bean soup/curry for £8....not enough for a main course. There was only two butter beans and a few okra. The food did not look good and was very disappointing on the taste. It was bland. Note: In response to your reply. The meal we ordered was for one person (as only one was vegan) and in my opinion it was not decent portion when compared to other restaurants, and especially for that price. We ordered one main dish and did not get the salad or rice that is suppose to go with it, as indicated on the online menu!

I've just been to Fi Real as all the reviews looked great. It didn't disappoint. The food was delicious. It was surprisingly quiet considering the low cost & high quality of the food. It is just lovely home cooked food. I had the lentil stew and a side of plantain.

Based on reviews I was expecting a new experience, but I was very very disappointed with food taste and price as well. Okra and butter beans was like a child portion of testeless vegetable soup for £8. I did not buy rice as it was another £2.50 and took it as takeaway. I would like to try something else from the menu, but I'm not sure if I'm brave enough.

What delicious food. The balance of spices was perfect. If I lived in Bristol I'd be sure to visit often which made it all the more of a shame that it was nearly empty on a Sunday. Friendly staff.
