Don't be fooled by the budget restaurant signage out front, this Indian restaurant has a far more premium feel inside - this place makes for a good location for a celebration or to bring a date. Book in advance at the usual busy times - we didn't have to on a Friday lunchtime when it was virtually empty. This meant fast service and timely delivery of food. There were a lot of vegan dishes on the menu - the majority in fact. Usually Indian restaurants do well to cater for vegan requirements but here, the majority of items on the menu thankfully are vegan by default. Of particular note are the multiple (multiple!) vegan naans: with butter, garlic and chilli flavours to choose from. Such rare joy as other Indian restaurants make you believe dairy is necessary for a good naan which is patently not the case. The chefs here demonstrate such skill with their craft. We had tarka daal, chana masala and a potato dish along with various naans - all well worth ordering. Their drink selection is nice too - managed to get a strawberry mojito (pictured) which was excellent to complement the (relatively mild) heat of the food. Overall, a great service to Birmingham's vegan scene and comes highly recommended.

Such a large option of choices of food to select from, especially for a vegan, which is hard to come across. Have been here a few times now somehow every time has been better than the last. Favourite place for vegan food and for a curry in Birmingham

Thought we would try a vegan Indian takeaway as a treat for a birthday meal and so glad we have so much more choice nowadays. Really impressed by the vegan options here. Food was delivered in less than 30 mins and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Particularly loved the Soya Tikka masala... beautiful! Great service and reasonably priced. Will definitely use them again.

If you are a vegetarian who struggles to find good food and variety when eating out, Barsana is the place you must head to. Conveniently placed on harborne high street with parking right behind (@60pph), it's ideal for a lazy weekend lunch or a busy workday dinner. The menu is a good mix of the familiar and the specials. Absolutely loved the sevpuri and a super big fluffy cheese nan. Quick and friendly service.

The best chilli paneer outside of Leicester! In fact, all of the dishes were absolutely delicious! The service (by Radthika) was superb and everything was nice and clean. Definitely recommend this place.

You don't have to be VEGAN to enjoy the BEST food. I'm a meat eater but the starters and main course curry were out of this world, the nicest Indian food I have ever tasted. The Merlot red wine in a beautiful glass finished the meal to perfection. Friendly personal service, an immaculate restaurant, and the best food. I'll be back for sure.

Such delicious food and such a wide option on the menu. Great for takeaway if you've got a difficult bunch to cater for - i went with a strict meat eater who ended up really liking their dishes. Would 100% recommebd a milkshake and pani puri if you just want a quick snack. And the people who work there seem very nice

The BEST takeaway place Brum has to offer. When I was a student, I used to religiously order from here and I honestly miss it. My favourite dish was their Punjabi Tadka pizza - absolutely insane mix of flavours 100/10 recommend. The prices are so reasonable as well. If you order from their website you get 10% off which is really appreciated. When I visit Birmingham again, I’ll definitely be ordering from here!

Delicious food, great service! Lots of options for vegetarians and vegans. The soya chicken was one of the best substitutes I have tasted! So much flavour in all the dishes and good portions. Very enjoyable, would highly recommend this place.

It was our first visit and we left happy. There's plenty of vegan options, the starters were big enough to share, both, chilli mushrooms and aubergine fritter, were delicious. The mains were tasty and not at all oily like in some other places, however, they were on the smaller side. The service was great, very nice lady took care of us and regularly checked if we need anything.

We have just had a family meal at Barsana, we always struggle to find nice places to eat having both vegan and gluten free people in our family. Barsana catered to all of our dietary needs and the menu clearly stated which items were gf, vegan and vegetarian making ordering very easy. The food came in generous portions and was really tasty. There was such a wide choice that we will definitely be back to try some more of the dishes. Our teenage children loved choosing from the options and most were not too spicy which suited them. The staff were helpful and friendly and the restaurant was small and cosy. Definitely worth the trip across town for us, we are already planning the next visit.

We had been to this place for the first time for lunch and it was an enjoyable experience. First impression about the restaurant as soon as we entered was it's really clean with nice decor. Coming to the food, it was amazing to see the sheer variety on offer. It came fresh with full of authentic Indian flavours and everything was well proportioned. The service was excellent with great attention to any special dietary requests or any customizing of spice levels etc. Vegans are well catered for here and all vegan items clearly indicated on the menu. Highly recommended!

Excellent and inclusive place where the choice of vegetarian and vegan options is real and not limited to a single dish. Came in by chance with a vegan friend and we had a blast. We got two entrees, two curries, and three starches. My friend waws utterly amazed by the garlic rice, and I really much enjoyed my aubergine curry. Finally, the peshwari nan was tasty and not overly sweet. In conclusion: we came in by chance, we had a blast of a lunch. Next time I will be in town, I will surely be back.

It was a first dine-in experience @ Barsana Pure Vegetarian restaurant and didn't look like the food at all. Earlier I ordered online and today thought of exploring dine in. We ordered starters like Veg & Paneer Noodles, Veg Biryani and didn't like the taste of any of them. If you are looking for authentic Indian food taste then this is not your place. Parking: High Street is a busy area and you can find the cheapest parking at the back side of the restaurant/Iceland costing 60p / Hr.

This all vegetarian restaurant has a variety menu at low cost. Indo-Chinese from the menu was good, the chilli fries was very nice. Chats was above average. They have a variety of vegetarian pizza options which I couldn't try as it was closing time. Staff were very friendly and service was nice. (We went after 9.30pm on a weekday and it was only our table they served not sure during busy times) The tea was not good (not Indian style). Taste 3/5 Staff 4/5 Cleanliness 4/5 Value for money 5/5

Delicious Indian food in a hygienic set up, wide variety of dishes and decent quantities and prices. Have ordered online several times but had the chance to visit in person recently and was impressed. We were there for one night in Birmingham and in short notice they deliver the food to our Hotel. The Food was nice and warm. I liked the service. I would highly recommend this place. When we will go to a Birmingham this will be the to visit for sure. They also do Jain Food as well.

I took time to write a review for Barasana as I want to write the exact words as I feel while eating at there. It was my rush approach to the restaurant as me and my husband parked our car in car parking Soho Road, were very hungry and looking for any place of indian food. And we found BARSANA 💖 Extraordinary food and it is so delicious that you want to come here again and again. I never found such an amazing authentic indian PURE VEG food anywhere I visited in UK so far. The owner is such a humble and nice person and a very welcoming place. Once you be here you will crave for here's food for long. It's a shame I did not took any picture but I promise you that you will never disappointed been here trust me. Come here for mouthwatering tasty and (hygienic) food I wish I could give more then 5 stars 😍 ★★★★★★★★★★

The starters were quite good but the dosa was absolutely revolting. It was the worst dosa I have ever had in my life. When we ordered veg biryani they gave us fried rice. Therefore I am disappointed with my experience there.

Below avg food taste, very less quantity and extremely expensive rate. Not sure how this unit is still in business. Don’t go by the positive reviews. I made that mistake. As an example we ordered this Veg Manchurian. Got only 6pcs and cost over £8 including 15% service tax. Taste was awful.

I Google searched South Asian Cusine and came across this venue and I then treated my friend to dinner here. What put me off returning was the poor deserts...we had a Sundae and a Oreo Cookie ice cream and they weren't the best. The Sundae wasn't fresh icecream but was all frozen and icy and just was not appetising.....the Oreo Cookie was the same...it had ice particles in it as it was over frozen or had been in the freezer for too long. The ambience is average, decor is dated however, it was clean.

We came to the restaurant at 8pm and when we ordered the food the chutney was given to us cold, the sambar was tasteless, masala tea didn’t have any flavour. Toilets have broken locks. Don’t come here searching for food.

Hello, Yesterday I attempted to place an order for delivery to my home address initially via the website and subsequently by telephone. The website would not allow me to select delivery as an option but gave no reason for this other than my address was not eligible for delivery. I then telephoned the restaurant to clarify why I could not have delivery for my order and was eventually told, after having checked with your driver, that my address was more than 3 miles away from your premises. A quick check on Google Maps showed quite clearly that the distance was in fact 1.8 miles. I had been keen to try your food ever since I discovered the restaurant when shopping in Harborne but after the shoddy way in which you refused my custom and the farcical statement that my address was too far away I really don't think I'll bother again. One last thing, it would appear that your website is using your previous location in order to allow customers the delivery option, this is probably costing you money. My postcode is B32 2HB, feel free to check if you even care that is.

Barsaana is THE place to go for authentic Indian food in Birmingham. Pick any dish from the menu and it has got to be tasty and sumptuous. All the dishes are extremely delicious, flavourful and feel freshly made. If anyone wants to enjoy less oil cuisine cuisine, this is the best place to visit . Recomend

The restaurant was clean and service was good. A nice family atmosphere and pleasant decor etc. Unfortunately the food was too spicy to enjoy. I ordered tarka Dal with plain rice and I have never had so much chili in this dish. My husband friends and I really struggled with the spicy heat of the food and we eat a lot of curries in Soho Road being vegetarian. This could have been a bad day so don't let me put you off but I would advise asking for your food to mild to get it medium maybe.

Worst restaurant I have ever ordered from in Birmingham. The items were ordered from JustEat, the items came with hair in the chana and the spicy poppadom (yes, it was attached in the poppadom), making them completely inedible. The remaining food items were cold. The delivery was just under an hour late. Called the restaurant after 30 minutes and they said it would be 5 minutes. It wasn't. After the items arrived in their poor condition. I contacted the restaurant. They said the manager would return the call in 10 minutes. They didnt. I then contacted JustEat who thankfully investigated (I emailed them pictures of the contaminated items with details) and after a few days I received a full refund from JustEat. For some reason my rating of 1 star but not my detailed review appears on JustEat. The restaurant then had the audacity to completely fabricate lies in their response on JustEat. Which I am more irritated about. No admission of fault, no apology, no call back from the manager, completely unscrupulous business practice. I have attached images of the contaminated food for anyone who wishes to see. Will never order from there again. Edit: Again, their response on here is a complete lie. I have now taken screenshots of my email confirmation from JustEat to show evidence of my order. People should be allowed to leave negative reviews with evidence of their poor experience. Still waiting for an apology!!

I have been there few times and I’m a disabled person they have helped me every time and made food to my taste no fuss at all Much better than shambhala village to be honest they don’t even bother if you have special choice or having problem with mobility to get in Highly recommended this restaurant. They are so humble and kind with you and your choices. Your typical side street Indian food venue. They offer an array of food choices available - Indian, Chinese and Italian. Some choices however weren't available anymore, like the pizzas. The food was presented well but rather spicy for the group and fresh yoghurt was offered. We were told that certain dishes didn't have any spice when they clearly did.

Me and my boyfriend ordered Vegetable Tawa Masala, Vegetable Noodles and Peri Chips on 25th December 2019. After we ate the food we went to bed and both of us woke up for a horrible pain in the stomach. I felt so bad, the pain was unbelievable. I was crying from the pain and had such a big diarrhea all night long along with my boyfriend. Our Christmas dinner poisonned us so badly. We will report this restaurant to Food Standard Agency because I am sure their hygiene is below the acceptable level. I don't want noone else to have this horrible pain...
