This is a house of kindness, nourishment, and connection. I really felt looked after here, and like people care! Made a friend too and had nice exchanges. The staff are magnificent. They offer refills for tea, which is the definition of living the dream. Absolutely worth stopping by this place, it’s got soul.

Wow what a find!! We didn’t fancy queuing in the rain for the cafe opposite so came into Cafe Kino instead. I don’t think it’ll be long until there are queues outside this place as well. Super friendly staff, nice atmosphere with lots of space, you’re not cramped in like most breakfast places on this road) Good music, and the food was incredibly tasty. Both myself and my friend aren’t vegans but loved the breakfast and will certainly make this place a regular stop for food. Great value as well. For two of us, we had two big breakfasts, plus a coffee and an orange juice each and it was only £30.. this is whether spoons territory without the grease. These guys have got it spot on, simple straight forward menus with a good base set of choices which makes choosing what you want super easy. We will be back for lunch there as well as the lunch menu looked equally as nice.

Quality vegan spot with a banging breakfast. Ordered quite a few times here during lockdown also, burgers are unreal. All-round decent food, and loads of sweet treats usually too.

Awesome place! I've been there many times over the years and I'm glad it's still going strong after lockdown. They (in the past year) expanded their range of products available to take away and have all sorts of specialist vegan stuff like mock lobster. I can't wait for my next visit :)

Hey, Cafe Kino was great. I'm checking out what it's like to be on a vegan diet for a month (6th day) and hit burger place actually hit the (or some) spot! I mean, I'm one to compare a beef patty to a vegan bun, to be honest. Texture wise it doesn't quite compare for me, because I appreciate the 1/3 bun, then 1/3 meat, then 1/3 bun texture-ratio when chomping down on a burger. In any case the patty was really nice; I just had to get into my head that's it's a different experience. The seeded-bun was slightly dry, so that coulda been better. Sauces were nice, REALLY liked the mayo with the chips. Vegan coleslaw was really good, too! This isn't really saying much, as I am not describing the flavours - I wouldn't be one to try. 4/5 go try it. Nice place to eat too, open space with a lot of light. Good vibe. May get a bit loud sometimes, but that's what you want in a burger place, right? That's all. Thanks. PS I had the original burger with 2 sides. PS try Club Mate if you haven't.

Visited twice. First time, good teas and coffees. Decided to try it for breakfast the next day. Arrived at 9:10 for breakfast. Waited until 9:40 outside whilst staff were inside. There were 4 other people with us outside waiting for breakfast and no member of staff thought to let us know when they were going to open. This was as best impolite and a very frustrating start to the day. All 6 of us left without any food or even being acknowledged by the staff inside. Very unprofessional.

Nice place in Stokes Croft. Staff friendly and food was good. I ordered Garlic Chkn Burger with Curly Fries. Would recommend. Only draw back is the lack of air conditioning or fans especially given how hot it was. Would happily visit again.

For breakfast this is a pure vegan place and food is ok. Prolly a heaven for vegans / vegetarians.. We had full breakfast (no eggs) and BLT sandwich. Taste wise 3/5. Price wise 2/5. Curly fries were 3.5£ barely had 4 pieces of chips (pic attached). Tasty breakfast was good - this was 10£ Americano 2.8£ Chocolate brownie was stale (2.5£) Service wise 1/5 . Although the service men were extremely courteous. It took one hr for our food to arrive even though most of the stuff is pre made / processed. Like vegan sausage, beans, bread. Not really sure why food took so longZ even though on the kitchen there were 4 ppl preparing food. Likely due to inexperience chefs. However this has been mentioned in other posts too. If coming here be prepared to spend 2 hrs at a minimum

Went for lunch and dinner, cannot get enough of this place! We travel to Bristol specifically to visit Cafe Kino because it’s so amazing. Worth it every time, the staff are really friendly, the food is full of flavour and actually good for you nothing is at all oily/greasy. We had the classic kino bean burgers, BLT, sausage sandwich, chips, cinnamon bun and banana & raspberry cake. You will never be disappointed especially for such a good price 💜

Sorry I love vegan cake but having 2 slices between 3 of us it was dry and overpriced we ended up leaving most of it. Shame really.

All vegan coop cafe that gives me Berlin vibes. Very buzzy on Sunday morning brunch time. The breakfast we had [small vegan British and a breakfast muffin] was solid 3.5⭐️ coffee was not particularly great tho. They also have Club Mate, which was my special highlight drink here. The most annoying part is that there’s an open kitchen, that clearly lacks a better extraction system, we could smell all the “burning” and cooking happening on the stove. On the positive side: Super affordable prices and friendly staff

It’s my first time trying a vegan burger and it’s soooo amazing!! Totally better and tastier than any other beef burger. The beans are very delicious and spicy just right. Highly recommend the spicy burger! The chips are great too It may take over 40 minutes at weekend lunch time. Go early or go on weekdays

Visiting from Brighton and was going to have lunch at Fi Real but then realised not open until 4pm. Found Cafe Kino and thought would give a try. Absolutely amazing. Friendly service, great options on the menu and the food was delicious. Love the forward it on scheme where you can pay £2.50 that will help someone who cannot afford it to be able to get a drink or some soup. Thanks for a great meal and hope you're still going for when we come back to Bristol again.

Was such amazing food, don't miss non-vegan options. Portions and sides are filling. Friendly and helpful staff. Would highly recommend breakfast muffins.

Stopped by here for a big breakfast before getting tatted a week or two ago. Atmosphere was very friendly and chill and my breakfast was delicious (they even gave me a free choice of substitution for something I didn't want which isn't as common as you'd think!) Cafe is entirely vegan which as a vegetarian I don't mind (and I can see the reasoning given it's unquestionably the most ethical choice) but something to keep in mind.

First time trying it, their food is amazing! A proper bean patty that doesn't taste fake? Kino does it!

Came in from the big bad world to a friendly face assistant with bright peach hair and a smile who made me a lovely oatmilk chai tea. Sat here for a while and the world felt a better place again. Being there even inspired me to buy a bright pink local artist tshirt promoting cooperatives. In a time of rising rents and gentrification Thank Goodness for small independent businesses and cooperatives. ??????Cafe Kino

One of Bristol's oldest vegan cafe and a workers co-op. Great coffee and food. Kino burger, curly fries and salad are delicious. Serves great soups, salads, superb cakes and a range of alcohol. Kino is an authentic Bristol fixture which started as a small cafe on Nine-tree Hill and moved to the main Stokes Croft a decade ago. Not only about food - this is a community hub committed to social and artistic development. Event space in the basement.

My daughter being a vegan suggested this local co-operative Vegan Cafe for our breakfast, luckily got a table for two, phew.. Freshly prepared food and locally ethically sourced is wonderful to see and even though I'm not a vegan, I totally support these not-for-profit businesses and workers, well done! The staff were absolutely brilliant, very friendly and welcoming and informed us of the wait for our breakfasts before we ordered which is so appreciated and not often done anymore. Her Flat Latte and my double shot Latte were perfect and full of flavour. Our Full Kino breakfasts were so tasty and absolutely delicious! Very funky and rustic decor inside and highly recommended for a truly wonderful Vegan breakfast and lovely tasty coffees. Thank you to all the staff for such a great experience and place, well done! Definitely having the cakes next time...

Pretty good, the big breakfast is good value. The sausages let the side down a fraction. Be prepared for a wait when busy, use the time to relax and chat. Friendly and helpful cafe team

We had a vegan breakfast each (full kino), it was delicious and felt like a big hug. The tomatoes, kale and mushrooms were all cooked to perfection. Would absolutely recommend. You order at the bar and they bring the food to your table. Coffee and kombucha were also very nice indeed. Top place for vegan food and they are also a co-op / not for profit business. :)

Really relaxed, welcoming and casual atmosphere. Lovely place for families, couples and friends. They also do a pay it forward scheme which is great. The whole place is vegan and the food is delicious.

This was the first vegan cafe I ever went to, about 8 years ago. It was then and still is now a fantastic place. Many other vegan cafes have appeared since then but I don't think any I've been to have matched Kino in terms of being truly ethical. This is no overpriced trendy trust fund project. This is a real working cafe run by real working people trying to make a difference.

This is my favourite cafe in Bristol. Both food and drink are excellent. The sausage sandwich is excellent. The small breakfast is great and is has good portion sizes. The only frustrating thinf about this place is long waiting times.

Let’s be honest “worker’s cooperative vegan cafe” doesn’t always inspire faith the service and food will be amazing but this place is grand - the staff were welcoming and funny, the vegan breakfast muffin is hearty and satisfying and the coffee delicious.

Came here during a quick stop over in Bristol, and my goodness was it worth it! We were both knackered from a long drive and were looking for any sort of vegan breakfast foods, and this breakfast bap was to die for! I could've eaten it 3 times over (the addition of facon was definitely worth it). Staff were really lovely and friendly (especially impressive considering we were there a few minutes after opening!). Very good social distancing in place, no sitting areas inside because of COVID-19 restrictions but outside table was offered and it was very much appreciated. Oh and good coffee with Oatly ! This breakfast bap has stuck in mind indefinitely and I will certainly be heading back as soon we pass through Bristol again. Thanks so much !! ?

All vegan goodness. Atmosphere was so relaxed and welcoming, the roobios chai latte matched this. Add in a vegan breakfast that stood up to any "traditional" breakfast and you cant go wrong

A little underwhelming and overpriced. You don't get a great deal for your money and a bit of a hipsters paradise. They do a decent sausage sandwich which on the plus side.

Cafe kino is a wonderful place to eat, work, enjoy a coffee or sway to some music. (Downstairs venue) I visit now and then and I always am happy with my time there. The food is all vegan and they do a great job, it's super yummy. Today I had an espresso, certainly a good shot of black gold. Recommended to all.

The park is a big hill that gets higher and higher till you get to the top, which is where Cabot Tower is. Perfect for summer barbeques, leisurely walks, or sitting on one of the benches staring out into the amazing view. You can see for miles out, on a clear day.

Kino is an institution, I feel it struggles to keep up with really good vegan food now that there is so much more of it available, the cakes are better other places and many burger shops do a better vegan burger now, that said, the atmosphere is lush, the food is still really tasty and the staff are always kind. It's pretty accessible and gender friendly too!

A humble cafe with friendly hosts. The place was lit up with a nice chandelier, bright walls, a small christmas tree to top it up with some soothing music. Veg Hola Salad : A mexican salad which consisted of corn, red beans, lettuce, broccoli, bell peppers in salsa dressing. It has the potential of being a great start to your meal ! Paneer Kadai Slider : A cheesy naan stuffed with ample amount of medium spicy paneer based thick gravy.. Although I've had this dish in many other places (the names slightly differ) , this one would be in the top shelf. Pesto Cottage Cheese Panini : Panini stuffed with a bed of lettuce, tomato and pesto flavored cottage cheese. It was slightly sour to my liking, maybe the white sauce which they put on top, that adds a bit to the sour flavour. Achari Paneer Tikka Roll : Tender cubes of cottage cheese marinated in delectable achari spices along with a salad of cabbage, carrot, etc wrapped in a roomali roti.. The saltiness in the salad could have been toned down a bit, keeping in mind the zingy flavor of the marination. Overall, the experience was pleasant given the friendly hosts, soothing ambience and good food ..
