Brilliant vegan cafe!!! Yes the place is a bit grungy but the food is tasty and the staff are lovely. We loved how engaged with the community the cafe is and it was brilliant to see people dropping off their produce. The coffee is also better than it needs to be and there are good gluten free options.

Oh. My. Gosh. What an amazing place! The atmosphere is hip and laid back, a real Earth-conscious hippie vibe. There are plants everywhere, the decor is eclectic and funky, and the staff are friendly and laid back. The food is incredible! It's all home made and plant based. It's absolutely beautiful! So tasty and felt great to be supporting such a wonderful local business. Great food, great coffee, great desserts, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Very impressed by this lovely cafe. Food was delicious and it is clear how much thought and care had been put into each dish. Service was very friendly and considerate. Great to hear about the social and ethical goals that drive them and happy to have been able to visit and support.

Cosy, calm, friendly cafe with yummy food supporting local businesses. It was a really chilly day when we visited and the tables were lit with candles and festive foliage. We enjoyed the Christmas sandwich with a homemade patty/stuffing & cranberry sauce and a slice of chocolate cake to share. Highly recommend this place of you are in the area. 😁👍💗

It's not often you come across a restaurant that makes healthy food so tasty and sophisticated. I'm not a vegetarian but I don't like meat products that much. The ambience is great and the atmosphere is very welcoming. More importantly, the food is still very good even though they change the menu seasonally.

Lauren, Becky, Anna and the team catered our wedding and it was absolute perfection. From the initial contact to meeting to discuss our ideas with the chef and Becky’s wonderful menu proposals, to the delivery and set up on the day, we couldn’t have imagined a better experience. The food from Wild Thing is simply delicious and innovative, all the little thoughtful touches and presentation were beautiful and the cake was one of the best we ever had. Every guest commented on how delicious everything was and we had so much food to last us all day and night, plus plenty for the following days and for doggie bags for our guests. The price was certainly far more reasonable than we would find elsewhere, not that we wanted to look elsewhere, as we knew from the first contact that these were the people who we wanted to cater our wedding. The catering was for 15 people and the photos below don’t even show all of the food, there was a whole other table full of entirely delicious, creative and beautiful food. Thank you so much for making our wedding extra special!

The best place to eat in Cardiff without a shadow of a doubt. The staff are so kind and lovely. The food is cared about and the asking price is beyond reasonable for how high the quality is and being so close to the centre of town. There is so much passion in the place its a blessing to have it in Cardiff that breaks up all the greasy vegan burger joints.

Absolutely wonderful. Have been feeling a lack of wholesome vegan food in the clamour of junk food vegan options. Wild Thing creates real vegan food as I would make at home. Fabulous ingredients, divinely eclectic flavours. We will be back. Fair play to the owner of this cafe. She really believes in what she's doing 100% and you can guarantee that most things are sustainable, locally sourced and ethical there. The food is really great if you're vegan or not.

Enjoyed the Wild Bowl which was filling and delicious. Loved the Beetroot hot Chocolate with the wonderful scent from the rose petals that were on top of the drink. The food is well presented. Lauren the owner has a passion in what she does. The plates, cups and bowls have a rustic homemade look and feel to it. It's a unique experience coming to the Wild thing! Next on my list is either the Golden or the Lavender latte and one of the cakes. Love trying new things. ........ 10 April 2019 It was great to be here. Enjoyed the oat pancakes and soup which were both pay as you feel. I liked the lime water which was quite refreshing. My friends enjoyed the pancakes too and one ordered the chocolate & hemp smoothy and enjoyed it. Only 2 items on the menu is pay as you feel the soup and the pan cake of the day. Not seen a pay as you feel food place in the UK though I went to many in Copenhagen Denmark. I love the concept. I'll definitely come again to try out their interesting hot drinks: hot beetroot chocolate, golden latte, lavender latte?! Wow.

Awesome food, I had tomato soup and was amazing, the same as I prepare it at home... And some other plate I can't remember the name but everything was so delicious...and YOU MUST TRY the ciocciolate cake ... AND ALSO THE PLACE IS VERY CUTE ... I'LL BE BACK ; )

Really enjoyed my visit to the Wild Thing cafe. The food was absolutely fantastic and all the staff were very kind and attentive. I absolutely love the concept of letting customers pay what they can and think it’s a great way to introduce people to veganism and the benefits of a plant based diet. In fact I loved it so much here that I came back again the next day!! Hope to come again soon!

Super cute, small plant based café with the nicest people! They do breakfast, lunch drinks and cake and on Sundays they do a full on roast. Love it more every time I visit. Highly recommend, try the lavender milk!

What a special space. Amazing vegan cafe with the most delicious baked goods and lots of lovely hot drinks on offer. The decor is wonderful and I’m so impressed with the social cause at the heart of all they do. Absolutely loved it!

I had brunch at Wild Thing today and the experience was wonderful. The food is healthy, tasty and beautifully presented. They also have gluten free options. The prices were reasonable, and the staff was very kind and helpful. It was obvious that they put a lot of care and effort on their food. It is a pity I cannot visit again as I do not live in Cardiff!!

I love this fantastic place and would definitely visit more often, but unfortunately this place closes too soon, so it's impossible to eat there after work. However, the food is just the best! Absolutely delicious and nourishing and always decorated with love. The staff is fantastic! Please, extend your opening times, so that my friends and I can come and have dinner :) (I am sure other people feel the same)

Lovely vibe and great food

We visited this lovely Plant Based Cafe yesterday, before I start, the only reason I'm giving 4 and not 5 stars is due to lack of choice for our children. The menu was very small but what we did have was beautiful and the service was fab. The ladies working there were lovely and very accommodating. I would definitely recommend a visit here and will will definatley return next time we're in Cardiff.

Ok going to be honest - this kind of place isn't really my scene. The food was ok at best but the place just felt dirty! The tables needed cleaning as well as the cutlery and plates. Wont be going back.

This place has wonderful, well thought out food and drinks. The intention is for a community orientation with multiple social goals. While I’m not in this neighborhood often, I would make a trip just to go here.
