OH MY GOD, THIS PLACE IS INCREDIBLE. I’m a meat eater but my partner is vegan and several friends had recommended us here. The Gnocci al Pesto was honestly one of the best meals I’ve had in my life - the softness, the vegan parmigiana, the pesto sauce, every bite was bliss!! We got some bruschetta and garlic bread to start which was lovely but the main courses were what absolutely blew us away. Everything is made with entirely vegan ingredients. You can see why this place is award-winning. It’s small inside so book in advance. What a gem!

Absolutely loved the food, it's rare to get fully vegan Italian restaurants so you tend to end up w the same dishes when you eat out. The pasta and pizza menu here is amazing. It was just a bit hot in there for me... really warm, so even the red wine was a bit too warm. Probably a one-off, don't go in a knitted jumper 😂 but please do go, very well worth it!

Popped in here for dinner for our one night in Edinburgh. Was stoked to find something with so many vegan options (everything on the menu!). Went with my mum who isn’t vegan but she loved everything as well. Staff were so friendly and attentive, and the pasta was delicious. I recommend booking to make sure you don’t miss out as it’s a cute little intimate place.

Amazing Vegan Italian food, cooked to perfection with quality ingredients! Very kind staff and wonderful service! Great taste! Definitely will go back and recommend to try and book a table in advance as the place is small and popular!

I'm so glad we booked as it's a very cute little restaurant and filled up quickly. The service was lovely and they were all very knowledgeable. The food was amazing! I've never eaten such good pasta before. Everything was delicious and 100% Vegan. Would absolutely recommend!! Doesn't look like much from the outside and the decor is a little basic, but the food and service absolutely make up for it.

I had their carbonara which was super delicious. This is a small restaurant, cozy and feels almost like someone's home. I would recommend booking a table since there's not that many. As the name of the restaurant says, it's all vegan, and also LGBTQ+ friendly. I will definitely come here again when I visit Edinburgh next time!

Great vegan restaurant 😋 I'd definitely recommend it. Delicious and fresh food, lovely service and great beer! Go and enjoy, we'll definitely be back! We got starters, mains and desert and all I can say is Wow! Fabulous! Enjoy!

We enjoyed an excellent vegan Italian meal for lunch with dishes ranging from pizza to gnocchi we were very much happy with what was on offer. The menu was quite a size and other guests were very pleased to see plant based options of what may be considered normal Italian restaurant options. Thanks. Definitely back when we are next around.

My partner and I were in the city for 4 nights and we decided to go here twice! The food is absolutely fantastic, allowing me to taste Carbonara for the first time in years. The staff are lovely too. You should book in advance on any night because the place is tiny. I recommend getting zozzana pasta, and my partner recommends the cacciatora pizza :) And definitely share the biscoff cheesecake for dessert!

It is lovely to have an all-vegan restaurant like this. Very tasty pizzas, an excellent GF menu, and very friendly staff. We were surprised to find our pizzas too salty, hopefully it was just a one-off. On the day, we wanted to add a couple of people to or booking. Unfortunately, we were told we cannot, however, there were two empty tables for the duration of our visit, so I am not sure of the reason. We are looking forward to visiting again and hopefully leaving a 5-star review.

Best Italian vegan food I have had, its so good that the 2 non vegan friends we took there could not believe it was all vegan 😁 Already looking forward to going back there with the family.

We enjoyed this restaurant Sunday, August 13 during our quick stay in Edinburgh. We tried to get a table the first night, but a reservation is necessary. We had no trouble making an online reservation for the next night and are so happy we did! The atmosphere is intimate and casual, the food is delicious and the service is caring and friendly. You will enjoy your meal! I had the vodka pasta and my daughter had the gnocchi. We both enjoyed garlic bread. Oh, yummy memories!

Super dog friendly! We booked and they had a bed and water set up for our dog. Even had food for the dog as well. Our food was delicious! Pizza and Pastas were all great! Highly recommend!!

Woooowww! My partner and I came here from Australia after seeing some good reviews and both being vegan. Amazing, so glad we did. I got the gnocchi Gorgonzola and he got the vodka penne, both amazing and simply delicious. We also got the pizza balls (so good and spicy) and the the raspberry cheesecake. Everything was so so delicious, and the staff were attentive and nice. Great music on as well :) want to come back ASAP!

We went there twice in three days time, that's how good it was! So happy to have tried a vegan Italian restaurant. The quattro formaggi pasta is so tasty, the gnocchi as well. Finishing the meal with an affogato is pure pleasure. Friendly service, cosy and inclusive atmosphere!

The best italian vegan food I have ever had. It is so hard to get cheese to taste this good. The penne quattro fromagi was spectacular. Usually gorgonzolla is overwhelming and too much but this one was PERFECT. The ham on the pizza was so good and the garlic focaccia was a great addition. 10/10

A very enjoyable evening. House red went perfectly with our vegan carbonara and vegan meat feast pizza. Tiramisu is a must

This is hands down the best vegan restaurant I’ve ever been to. such a wide variety on the menu, everything is so tasty, authentic and delicious. The gnocchi was creamy, the pizza didn’t taste like typical vegan cheese, and the focaccia was so delicious. The service was brilliant, and has a lovely, warm atmosphere. Would highly recommend, vegan or not.

Really cosy, welcoming, friendly atmosphere with absolutely delicious vegan food on offer (all vegan food!) insanely tasty pizza, will now have to return to try the mouth watering pasta dishes! reasonably priced for being in the centre of Edinburgh too

One of the best vegan restaurants I've been to. Very Italian flavours and a cozy atmosphere. If you are in Edinburgh, I surely recommend it!

Our best meal out to date. Thoroughly impressed, great food, great service and so great having a fully vegan menu. Wish we didn’t live on the other side of the world so we could come back soon

Having visited Sora Lella a few times now, it is my first recommendation for visitors and locals in Edinburgh every time. A very cosy setting, with friendly staff and heartwarming food. Pasta and pizza options are plentiful and a few other mains options. Great portion sizes. Fully vegan, but approachable, with 'normal' ingredients and dishes. For dessert, I almost always chose the tiramisu, but we also had a delicious cheesecake. Drink options are good, I recommend the Italian gin. Lovely staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Dog friendly too. Would strongly recommend booking in advance. Highly recommended.

Sora Lella is amazing! My partner and I shared the creamy chicken and pepper starter, then had the meat feast calzone and four cheese penne for mains. Each dish was so warming, fresh and tasty, and we so wish we’d have had the time to visit again on our short trip. The food is comparable, but I’d honestly say better than, any non-vegan equivalents and it was really hard to believe the food we were eating was vegan, particularly the cheese elements of the dishes which were all perfection. Service was a huge highlight too. The whole restaurant was full when we went on a Saturday night, but in spite of that the service was attentive, food came out quickly and the two servers were generally just lovely. Both were working very hard given how busy it was but the whole atmosphere never reflected that in a negative way - they helped create a very relaxed environment and there was a great buzz about the restaurant. They also provided us with a couple of free limoncellos given that we were celebrating my birthday which was really sweet. Restaurant was clean, cosy and tables were well-spaced apart. Portion sizes were really generous and well-priced. Overall just a really amazing dining experience and so glad to see that this place won Edinburgh Trattoria of the year 2021 as it clearly deserves it - holds its own to any non-vegan Italian restaurant I’ve been to and there’s evidently a lot of love and passion that goes into the restaurant and the food. Can’t wait to go back on our next visit to Edinburgh.

Disappointed fourth time running. After paying over thirty pounds again the food was totally un edible Frozen and burnt. Phoned restaurant to be told after it’s cooked and delivery doesn’t manage on time they keep it in oven. Makes sense now when I waited nearly an hour and a half for it to be delivered burnt. Asked what time it was picked up? Was told maybe ten mins. Checked delivery app to find out they went to other side of Edinburgh before delivering to me. Good hour at least. Restaurant messaged me to say waiter said I demanded a refund. Rubbish. I asked if they could send me replacement and I would send them my frozen and burnt food back.

I’ve visited Sora Lella with my husband for a weeknight dinner while in Edinburgh. Both of us are vegetarian but we’re keen to try vegan restaurants. I think a vegan would probably enjoy the food more than a cheese-eater as vegan cheese can be disappointing, to say the least - and we ordered the pizza pies where one is filled with four cheese sauce, I think it was perhaps a bit much for us. The suppli we had for a starter were lovely (though the cheese in the middle was far from being cheesy), and pizza Carbonara was nice as well - though definitely not as nice as vegan pizzas in Rome! The prices of are on the higher side (with pizzas starting at £10) while Italian food is quite cheap to make generally - but vegan substitutes can be expensive. We had a bottle of the house white which was OK. The waitress serving us was very friendly.

Would recommend, some delicious food, especially the gnocchi salsiccia e tartufo (gnocchi w/ truffles). Garlic bread was a tad overdone and the carbonara did lack flavour. Staff were very friendly though.

We had such a great experience at Sora Lella! The staff are very friendly and polite, especially the nice waiting lady that recommended Paccheri Zucchine e Speck (pictured together with Meat Feast pizza) which was so delicious! Highly recommend their tiramisu too (pictured together with hazelnut cheesecake). We visited on Tuesday and the place was very busy, so recommend booking ahead if you want to secure a table. Overall, an interesting experience for anyone who wants to see what the more sustainable yet extremely delicious Italian food looks like!

We came here for dinner on my birthday. The food is very delicious. Only drawback is the busy street outside the restaurant (it can be a bit loud when the door is open).

Excellent food! So pleased we managed to fit in a trip here, the food was some of the best vegan Italian I've ever tasted. The carbonara was creamy and decadent. Everything was full of flavour and so delicious. Please can you open one in London! Only criticism is that the service lacked effort and attention and it was rather cold in there!

I've only visited once but this may be my favourite restaurant ever. It's a small, cosy place with a relaxed atmosphere that's quite unassuming at first glance. The food, however, is something else. I had the bruschetta for my starter, the mushroom seitan for the main and the tiramisu for dessert and they were all heavenly. It's not easy to find fully vegan restaurants with a great variety of fare on offer, so I'm normally glad to just have a few choices to eat from. But everything I tried at Sora Lella just blew me away. I can't wait to come back and try more!

IF YOU’RE NOT A VEGAN OR VEGETARIAN IT DOESN’T MATTER!! We traveled here from the States and decided to stop here based off of the vegan friendly menu and our love for Italian food. I have to say though, the appeal goes beyond the vegan/vegetarian pallet because the flavors will knock you off your feet. It’s super difficult to explain how amazing the experience and food was. The flavors and balance of all the ingredients were on point! Get the gnocchi!!! Ugh so good! We had the honor of meeting the owner and got to hear the back story of this restaurant. It made it all that much more special to hear about the passion and authenticity that is put into the food. Stay through dessert too, get the tiramisu and top it all off with the limoncello!

Brilliant Italian vegan food! Definitely recommend as there are lots of choices, with generous portions and lovely staff! Will 100% be back when I'm nearby again.

Really cosy restaurant with welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Was overjoyed to find an all vegan Italian restaurant which could also cater to my gluten intolerant partner and we were not disappointed- definitely worth a visit!

This was some of the best vegan food I have ever had. The gnocchi with truffle and sausage sauce was especially gorgeous 🤤 The portions are also very generous!

Delicious food and quite hard to find a place that is 100% vegan that does pasta dishes. The pizza and focaccia was really good too. Small inside so make sure you book ahead!

We've been plant-based a long time, and this is easily the best vegan Italian food we've ever had. And it's not even close. Wonderful!

  • 5/5 Lewis M. 1 year ago on Google
This place is absolutely flawless, to start, the music is a mix of genres with a consistent funky rock energy that I love. The food. Omg the food. For a starter I had some kind of ham and cheese toast w carbonara sauce underneath that blends it all together in creamy smoky glory. For main I had the Alfredo gnocchi, literally like biting into a starchy cloud. And the vegan sausage is soft n melts away in such a satisfying way that ads to the comfort of the dish. Nice vibes all around. I wish I weren't single cuz if I did I'd take my date here.

👍👍 It's busy, it's tasty and always a nice experience! There is a nice range of flavours infused with spices. We went for breakfast and really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The naan breads with sausages, bacon and eggs were delicious. The only comment I would have is it's so busy and noisy insid...
