The Matsyagandha temple of Saharsa district is dedicated to Rakta Kali which is located in the heart of Sarsa district. There is a very beautiful view in this temple.Matsyagandha temple is a very old Chausath Yogini temple. There are many idols of Gods and Goddesses in this temple and it is worshiped here with faith and belief since many days. There is an idol of Durga ji here.

Good place for worship and walking in the morning and evening. 🌅 Matsyagandha Lake (मत्स्यगंधा) is an artificial lake in the Sattar Kataiya block of Saharsa district of Northern Bihar region in India.[1] It is approximately 1.50 km long and 200 m wide, and its water-retention capacity is planned to be increased to 6000 m3.[1] It was conceptualized in 1996 by the then Saharsa Collector, Tej Narayan Lal Das, out of a wasteland where dead bodies used to be cremated. As a result of neglect, the lake shrunk greatly between 2006 and 2017, almost disappearing by 2018. As of June 2020, the lake has been planned to be renovated at the cost of ₹ 7.47 Crore (USD 1.02 M),[2] under the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali mission of the Government of Bihar. The plan, to be carried out by the State Department of Minor Water Resources, includes increasing the depth profile by 2 meters and expanding the size of the lake to 81 acres.

Raktakali Mandir in Saharsa is undeniably one of the most captivating places to visit in the area. Nestled amidst natural beauty, this Hindu temple offers a serene and spiritually uplifting experience. I had the pleasure of exploring this temple recently, and I must say, it left a lasting impression. The main temple of Raktakali Mandir is a sight to behold. With its intricate architecture and vibrant colors, it exudes a sense of divinity and tranquility. Additionally, the temple compound boasts a collection of interesting smaller temples that add to the overall allure. A unique feature of Raktakali Mandir is the artificial hill, home to the Sarasvati Temple. This temple is designed in the shape of a musical instrument called the "Veena," making it an architectural marvel. The elevated position of the temple on the hill provides a breathtaking view of the surroundings, further enhancing the spiritual experience. Beyond the temple's premises lies a vast lake that adds to the charm of this place. The opportunity to enjoy boating on the serene waters of the lake is a welcome addition to the overall visit. It offers a chance to unwind and appreciate the natural beauty that surrounds the temple. In conclusion, Raktakali Mandir in Saharsa is a hidden gem, combining the spiritual and the scenic. With its beautiful main temple, intriguing smaller temples, and the enchanting Sarasvati Temple on the artificial hill, this place is a must-visit for both devotees and nature lovers. The serene lake nearby offers a chance to relax and enjoy boating, adding to the overall appeal. I highly recommend exploring this picturesque retreat for a memorable experience.
