Dharagiri Waterfall is a great place to visit in Ghatshila. We would suggest you visit this site while exploring Burudih Dam. This waterfall is located quite close to the Dam. Even though this fall’s altitude is only 25 feet, but if you visit there in monsoon season, you will witness the cascading water falling at a high intensity. As this site is located only 9 km from Ghatshila, you will be able to reach there by renting an auto-rickshaw.

We have visited this place in the month of October. It is one of the very famous tourist spots in Ghatshila. Getting this place by local transport is difficult so better to have your own per-booking transports. One has to walk a little distance to reach this little but beautiful water fall. The scenery around this jungle path is very good. One can also see the small local village nearby. Overall, very good experience.

One of the most beautiful waterfalls in the state of Jharkhand. Located close to Ghatshila town, this stunning waterfall is a part of the whole-day sightseeing tour via auto. To reach here, you need to trek for 15 minutes through a hilly road, between dense forest. After reaching the waterfall you will be mesmerized by it's beauty and wonder. It's not a huge waterfall, but you can sit there in quiet solitude and imbibe the natural environment within yourself. Recommended to visit. 😊

Dharagiri fall is a small waterfall in Jharkhand. It is located near Burudi Lake. You can go there by car, or auto from Ghatshila. While going to Dharagiri fall, the car or auto by which you are going will take you to a remote location where your mobile network may be non existent. You can only view natural beauty. Some Adivasi women here work as local guides though they are probably not registered. Here you will have to go on foot for about 15 minutes to reach the fall. The route is through valley, grassland, forest and small hills. You can see some hills while walking through the grasslands. Some local people can be seen herding their livestock. It is an amazing route to discover nature's pristine beauty.

Excellent place. Definitely a must visit place in Ghatshila. Awesome views. Its a 5-6 minutes walk amid a rocky terrain which will give you a forest trail like experience. It will take you to this beautiful waterfall. This is also considered as pure so people even collect the water for worship purpose just like we use ganga jal. It's also considered as a holy place. Overall its a great experience.

Dharagiri waterfall is a must-visit place in Ghatshila, this place is one of the major tourist attractions of Ghatshila. I went there in 2013. Dharagiri waterfall is just 6/7km away from Burudi Dam. You have to walk quite a bit through the forest to reach this beautiful waterfall, the greenery surrounding will mesmerize you. Take a guide from Basadera village who will lead you through the forest road to the waterfall.

Beautiful place to visit from Ghatshila in the midst of a hilly area after a short trek of 15-25 mins with the help of local village guides.

The long trek of 15-30min and followed by a low stream of water flowing through the rocks . In this place the road or walk towards the fall was more beautiful than the actual waterfall! The rocks and lush green forest around the waterfall and treks were beautiful and amazing 😍 Surely a must visit for all Ghatshila visitors. On this trail you will often find small adivasi children will ask for food or money, so you can consider keeping some chocolates or toffee for them while visiting this place.

Good for place within 50 km from Jamshedpur or a weekend ride. Vehicle will reach really close to the waterfall and need to have a short trek. Please don't spread garbage, it's an untouched beauty, let it be one.

It is an approximate 1-2km hike to reach the fall. The ideal time to visit is September October but I went in March, so the force of water was less. The hike is easy but people with problems in their feet might have trouble. Beautiful hike through the greens and then reaching the falls and watching the beauty is another lovely experience!!

The waterfall is small, but the serene and wild feel of forests have been left intact as of yet. The road till this point is however very jumpy and taxing. One should be wary of joint pains and age before coming to this place. I was left completely satisfied and blessed after seeing the waterfall. P.S. there might not be water flowing at all in December- February.

Visited Dharagiri falls in December and found almost no water. It is highly recommend to visit the place during monsoon to get its ultimate views. No mobile network works here and the way back to auto parking from falls is a bit confusing. So, its better to take one of the children to show the way.

Local people/villagers has named it Dharagiri falls. On your route map , after Burudhi lake you will reach here in the middle of hill. Beautiful scene of this place will blow your mind. Take a local guide from here by spending Rs 50 only. He/she will collect the water of this falls which you can drink satisfactorily.

Dharagiri, a fall in the woodland, surrounded by the Dalma hills and also an incredible spot of Jharkhand for nature lovers. It is located in Basadera, a very remote area in the town of Ghatshila. Basadera is a small village in the East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. Dharagiri is 5.7 km (via Burudi Road) from another amazing picnic spot of Jharkhand, Burudih Dam. Please take the help from the local guides, who are generally the tribal children. They charge a negligible amount of INR 40 or 50 to lead you through the rocky path to the falls. The month of August is the best time to visit Dharagiri because the fall is at its best during the rainy season. I visited one week ago and the rocky path was full of slippery.

Not much of a place according to its hype. The road conditions are extremely pathetic. The climb and the entrance of the Waterfall is pretty dirty with plastic packets and eatables which make the stones slippery. We have a lot of beautiful spots in and around Jharkhand but this is not worth your time and energy. Not recommended at all.

I seldom like spreading fear or usually don't put any comment to snatch interests about a place from any tourist. Each and every place has its own specialty. However, if it's winter or summer, please don't expect much from this place regarding the water fall as it's nearly dry. So, if you fail to catch local auto or sumo, or don't want to wait for those to come for the next trip, and decide to walk all by your own from Burudi Lake, be mindful that your expectations might not meet. All this nearly 6km distance may take hours, and ultimately, when you see the fall, on a winter day, you would probably be annoyed. However, it's worth visiting it as it's a rural part and locals don't have much to earn except from tourists. Those little kids are eagerly waiting for your small help. Your small contribution matters a lot to them.

Beautiful place for sight seeing. The waterfall is weak in winter, but still beautiful. The water is crystal clear and translucent, making a green pond below the stream. The road is bumpy and the last few metres have large rocks and gravels, so not recommended for people with joint problems. Parking space is available for 4 wheelers and 2 wheelers. Locals are charging for parking. You will have to walk on steep roads for around 100 metres from the parking zone to reach the waterfall. This walking road is beautiful but dangerous. So you need to be extra careful. Once you reach the top, the beauty of the place will mesmerize you.

It was not a full on trekking experience, but it was adventurous nonetheless. My group started its Ghatsila adventure with this spot, and it was quite a fun experience. You will be accompanied by a local guide ( base fees for them is ₹50) and they will take you through a vast open land space that is surrounded by the hills, and then through wild bushes and vegetation, and after approximately 10 -20 minutes of walking, trekking and panting, you'll reach the waterfall. Might be a little tiring for people on the older age spectrum, just because it's a hilly and stony climb.

We saw what nobody saw... Atleast we never saw on internet.. We went there with risk as there was orange alert for heavy raining so the falls's water got connected with the subarnarekha river and we had to cross that connection with our bare feet.

Very nice. A small waterfall surrounded by rocks. A nice place to visit as a sight scene near Ghatsila, Jharkhand. Recommended to visit in monsoon, when the water flows are high to get its beauty.

Bad road conditions and after road ends you have to walk almost 30 mints to go near the falls. Local people will guide you in exchange of very lil money. But the place is cool and calm

Amazingly peaceful place in the beauty of nature, the sound of slowly flowing water will take your breath away, and the journey to the falls itself is an adventure.

I visited Ghatshila for the second time. The fall is tiny if compared with other famous falls but the journey on foot to Dharagiri fall through dense forest is awesome. Due to rain on the same day, this time the flow of water was much better. the stones on its path became very slippery. It's a must visit place when you visit Ghatshila.

A bit underrated I believe but a really amazing place. Jharkhand Tourism Board definitely needs to promote this place, the roads are terrible and after a certain point you'll have to trek to the falls. No directional board or anything, ask the locals for the way. Trek is almost 1.5kms but worth it.
