There is a temple of Shiva known as Taponath Mahadeva Mandir. In one of the caves, a Shiva lingam is mounted, and it is said that Sage Valmiki got here here for penance. It is likewise stated that Ravana came right here for meditation, and at the same time as he turned into doing penance, the gods told Hanuman to interrupt Ravan’s meditation. Hanuman jumped to the hill and burst the rocks of the hill. There is a Hanuman temple inside the center of that stone crack. On the inner surface of the crack, you could see a portrait of Hanuman. This is an excellent feat as it is almost impossible to insert a paintbrush in the hole and draw some thing. Below the hill, there may be a small Kund (water – frame) referred to as Sita Kunda by the local community. It is a holy water body. It is stated that Sita used to take a bath here. Timing: 6 AM - 7 PM

It's one of the famous places for tourist destinations in Deoghar. Here the temple is situated inside a small gufa and is at the very top of the mountain. The place is a bit outskirts but good. However before the pandits and pandas, they will force you out of money. Also there are people who will hand you food for monkeys and demand money, giving you emotional trauma. Beware of them. But the place is amazing, calm silent and a good place for taking pictures. Overall great.

Place is beautiful. Stairs to top goes from front of temples. Accordingly, pandas don’t allow you to wear footwear after climbing few stairs. Exploring mountain which is the prime attraction here along with temples , hence, can’t be enjoyed freely due to lack of shoes .

Tapovan Hills in Jharkhand offer a serene and captivating natural escape. Nestled amidst lush greenery, these hills are a haven for nature enthusiasts and trekkers alike. The region's picturesque landscapes, dotted with dense forests and meandering streams, create an ideal setting for adventure and relaxation. The trekking trails in Tapovan Hills are moderately challenging, making them suitable for both beginners and experienced trekkers. The panoramic views from the hilltops are truly breathtaking, offering a glimpse of the surrounding valleys and distant horizons. The tranquility of the place provides a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of urban life. The local flora and fauna add to the charm of Tapovan Hills. Exploring the diverse range of plant species and spotting occasional wildlife enhances the experience. The warm hospitality of the local communities is a highlight, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the local culture and traditions. However, it's important to note that the infrastructure for tourism might not be as developed as in more popular destinations. Accommodation options and facilities can be basic. Travelers looking for a less commercialized and more authentic natural retreat will find Tapovan Hills to be a hidden gem worth exploring.

Must visit when you are around Baba dham. It has a lot of spots of local and mythological significance. More than that it is a beautiful adventure journey through the rocks. Walk, crawl and slid. It is a fun experience.

Trikut Pahar is one of the most exciting tourist destination in Deoghar, where you can enjoy Trekking, Ropeway, Wildlife Adventures and a safe natural retreat. It is also a popular picnic spot and a place for Pilgrimage. In dense forest on the uphill lies the famous Trikutachal Mahadeva Temple and the hermitage of Sage Dayananda. Trikut Hills contain three peaks and the Highest Peak goes to the height of 2470 ft from the Sea Level and around about 1500 ft from the ground making it an ideal location for trekking. Only two of the three peaks are considered safe for trekking while the third one is inaccessible due to its highly steep slopes. The Ropeway takes the Tourists to the top of main peak only. An exciting 360 degree view of Deoghar is available from the Top of Trikut Pahar.

Tapowan is the abode of a great saint, here there are 244 stairs or it is in Deoghar district of Jharkhand, one has to pass through 4 villages and the fever is very active but there is a lot of joy here, the atmosphere here is very good.

We reached at Tapovan hill in the morning, about 10 KM distance from Deoghar city. One local boy of age about 15/16 yrs. requested us to engage him as a guide. His smiling face and continuous request compelled us to engage him. Tapovan hill is famous for Taponath Mahadev Temple, i.e., Shiva Temple. It is said that it was the meditation spot of the Nagas. It is also said that sage Valmiki came here for penance. Sri Sri Balananda Brahmachari obtained Siddhi there. His disciple Sri Sri Mohanananda Brahmachari also used to go there. Our guide led us to several places. Meditation spot, Shiva Temple and other idols & photos of the great saints. There was a cracked rock in Tapovan. In the inner surface of the crack a portrait of Hanuman could be seen. Below the hill there was a small kund which was known as Sita Kund. There were so many monkeys, hanuman, roaming there. But it appeared to us that they are not harmful to the pilgrims. It took about one hour to visit Tapovan.

Awesome place for a day tour. volcanic hill with caves and all. Really enjoying Cons: 1. Local guides literally torture the tourists, Jharkhand govt should take a control on this. 2. Food options are very less 3. Monkeys- they attack the tourists when local guides insist them 4. Don’t be scared of local guides just dial ? in case they torture you

Tapovan is associated with Lord Rama and the epic Ramayana. This place was once used by sages for meditation, penance and spiritual awakening. Tapovan is famous for its big mountain views. You see some of the most historic Indian mountains right from its base.
