Shri Sammed Shikharji is located in Jharkhand State. It is said that out of 24 Tirthankar 20 have achieved Nirvana in Shri Sammed Shikharji. This place is located in a hilly forest area where you can enjoy the beauty of nature and feel the closeness towards it. Even people who are not interested in any religious beliefs should visit this place for its beauty. Lakhs of JAIN'S visit this place every month and no casualty has been reported so far by any wild animals in the forest. To reach Parshvanath Temple one should start the journey early in the morning so that you can come back by evening. People usually start the journey by 2AM and come by 3/4 PM. For children and old person Palkis are also available on fix rate at the starting point but if you want to hire Palkis in between the route it would be costly. It's a lovely place for Trekking and adventurous experiences with lots of wonderful scenery runaorunds. Date of Experience: August 2022

It's a place worth visiting. The highest mountain of Jain pilgrimage in the world. It is a 27Km long and steep trek. There are Doli wala and bike service available if you cannot walk that long. The bike takes you to 9kms and then you have to walk, doli wala takes you to every tonk for darshan. Rates of bike: 1000-2000/-, Doli: depends on weight, upto 80kgs 3-4k and so on. There are many dharamshala and bhojanshala downstairs.

One of the most holy pilgrimage site of Jain people. Many small temples on the way to mountain and on the top of mountain which is surrounded by dense green forestation. There are many dharmashala's/hostel like arrangements down hill for a very cheap price. This is very convenient for staying before and after the trekking to mountain. For kids, trekking will be another fun as you will encounter many monkeys on the way. For old people there are people who offer a porter service , which is very efficient and convenient for old people as it has a sitting chair arrangement. The similar porter service is offered for small kids too, however pay attention to it as sometimes kids may deny to sit inside it. The total hike/trekking is around 27 KM. So if you wanted to cover nicely in 1 day and return back about afternoon, you must start your hike at 2:00 AM in the morning. Going up the mountain is still fine but while you come down, you will get a high load on knees and it can be very painful then. But no worries, there are people on bikes who can offer you a ride down hill for a very reasonable price. I hope all this information helps. Happy trekking and workship to gods.

I went here on friday we started mountain climbing on saturday early morning 4am and we came down in the evening at 4:30pm The journey was so amazing although it took 12 hours because all the tonks are bit difficult to climb the main climb is #GautamSwami Tonk after you reach Gautam Swami Tonk then there is hardly 8-10km of climbing the main part is you enjoy it when you climb it by walking not with "PALKI" OR "VEHICLE" thats what shows god that you are his devotee and you believe in god.The main tonk is Parshwanath Tonk and highest tonk is Chandraprabhu Tonk. The best part was the climate, weather and nature's beauty.I am uploading some pics of nature that is totally raw without any edit.It is all about natural beauty.A must visit place for all Jains either Digambar or Shwetambar .A jain must visit this place once in a lifetime atleast.

This is one of the 3 important places for Jain pilgrimage and most important in current times as 20 out of 24 tirthankars have got nirvana from this place. If one intends to do all the places in top of the temple and come down, it would be almost 27 KMs in all. In the centre, there is Jal Mandir, on 1 extreme is Shri Chandraprabhu ni tunk and on other extreme is Shri Parshwanath ni tunk. There are bikes which goes till a little more than half of the road if you are unable to walk and there is doli seva for others. There are stalls in between for tea/water breaks. Now there is no fear as it was in olden times but it is recommended to be with someone and not be alone.

This is one of the most holy and revered sites for the Jain community. They call it Sammed Sikhar. It is a major pilgrimage site. Out of 24 Tirthankaras of Jains, 20 got nirvana on Parshvnatha Hills. On the mountain, there are the Shikharji Jain temples, an important tirthakshetra or Jain pilgrimage site.[5] For each Tirthankara there is a shrine (gumti or Tonk) on the hill.[6]

This was such an experience. The temple is located at the top of a hill. There are a few ways to reach the temple. 1. Walking 2. Bike ride 3. Doli We chose the bike ride. Bikers will be available at the base of the hill. Charges will vary from 800-1000 per person. It is the best option for some in hand adventure. The temple is beautiful and well maintained. The scenario from the top is great as well. The best time to visit is from October to February.

The Climb to the mountain top is an experience in itself..The Temples are so peaceful and calm that they just relax you after the 9Km walk. It's something everyone must do at least once in their lifetime...You can visit anytime of the year but avoid the rains and peak summer. Winter is the proffered time to visit but be ready for the chill and the trek in the dark. The walk down is even tougher but enjoyable. The journey is worth it

Being from a Jain family, visiting this place became like a religious ritual, and i feel lucky to have visited here, and i have done that again and again! The peace and satisfaction i get when we try and start to climb the holy mountain for getting opportunity to be blessed by all the ΰ€€ΰ₯€ΰ€°ΰ₯ΰ€₯ΰ€‚ΰ€•ΰ€°ΰ₯€ This ΰ€ͺΰ€°ΰ₯ΰ€΅ΰ€€ is a bliss and paradise, for how and what u feel over there, a 27 kms, having an elevation or lets say having a path which at times goes to 40-45 degree elevation. If anyone ever come across any doubt or any query before visiting this place and starting this holy religious ΰ€ͺΰ€°ΰ₯ΰ€΅ΰ€€, please feel free to ask and i’d be happy to help, if i can.

At 4480 feet above sea level, Parasnath Hill is the highest mountain in Chotanagpur Malvumi, Jharkhand state and one of the holiest pilgrimage sites for Jains. Of the 24 Tirthankaras of Jainism, 23 (20 in Dvim) attained nirvana on this mountain. The 23rd Tirthankar was Parshnath Swami. After him this hill is named Parshanath Pahar. Also known as Shikharji, Sammed Shikhar. This hill circumambulation starts from Madhuban, a small town below the hill. Madhuban is the gateway to this hill.

Holiest Place of Jain Community. 22 Tirthankars attained Samadhi Here. Trek is very beautiful and adventurous. It will test your physical fitness. There are small shops on the way for snacks and water but please bring your own water and food. Shops there will charge double the price and the snacks they provide are not good except packed items. Also beware of monkeysπŸ’. Take a stick with you it will help in climbing and also monkeys don't come near if they see stick. If you start early morning you can easily come down till evening. Please spend some time at each Samadhi.

It is an incredible pilgrimage site for Jain which is situated in Parasnath Jharkhand. It is one of the most secret places for Jain around the world. The trek to the top of the mountain is quite challenging, but the breathtaking beauty and view of the mountain along the way make it worth every step. Once you reach the top, the view from Shri Sammed Shikharji is simply ewe-inspiring. The view of the surrounding mountains and especially valleys is nothing short of breathtaking, and it feels like being so close to heaven (ΰ€Έΰ₯ΰ€΅ΰ€°ΰ₯ΰ€—).

Very high , placed at 1300 ft above sea level, wonderful place if you want to visit the temple. Also if you want to trekk do it 10kms of it , during covid 19 only thing required is mask . Temple is neat and simple. Windy place. There are also motor bikes available which will charge anytfrom 700 to 2000 depending on so many things . Bikes are hero Honda splendor and purely based on riders expertise. If you are looking for professional aspect on this then forget it . One person per pillon rider . In our case the riders were good .

Good : A very adventurous place. Well vibes. Mind blowing view from the Top. After climbing up, the view there will make you forget all the pains of the body. Bad: Improper management. No toilet for ladies. No dustbin so wastes are lying everywhere and making a very nasty environment. The entrance of the temple becomes overcrowded and no one maintains the proper line. N.B: Shops are in every corner and water, Energy drink and dry food like biscuits etc. are easily available. Physical fitness will be the key factor.

Shri Sammed Shikharji, located in the serene landscape of Jharkhand, is a sacred pilgrimage destination for Jain devotees and a spiritual haven for seekers of peace and tranquility. Having recently embarked on this revered journey, I was profoundly moved by the spiritual significance and natural beauty that surround this sacred mountain. As I approached Shri Sammed Shikharji, the sense of reverence and sanctity enveloped me. The grandeur of the mountain, rising majestically against the clear blue sky, exuded an aura of divinity. This revered site is believed to be where Lord Mahavira, the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism, attained enlightenment, making it one of the most significant pilgrimage spots in Jain tradition. The climb to Shri Sammed Shikharji is both physically demanding and spiritually enriching. The 24 sacred Jain temples atop the mountain, known as "tirthas," are connected by a series of well-maintained trails. The journey, known as "Tirthankara Trail" or "Parikrama," allows devotees to engage in self-reflection and contemplation as they ascend towards spiritual awakening. The tranquility of Shri Sammed Shikharji is palpable. The serene atmosphere, unbroken by the noise of modern life, offers a peaceful respite from the outside world. The sacred chants and prayers echo through the mountain, creating an ambiance that nurtures spiritual introspection and devotion. The temples at Shri Sammed Shikharji are architectural marvels, adorned with intricate carvings and artistic details. The sight of the ancient temples, set against the backdrop of pristine nature, instills a sense of wonder and admiration for the rich cultural heritage of Jainism. The panoramic view from the mountain's summit is breathtaking. The sweeping vistas of the surrounding valleys and rolling hills create a sense of oneness with nature. It is as if the beauty of the landscape reflects the soul's inner journey towards enlightenment. During my visit, the hospitality of the local community and the dedication of the temple priests added to the spiritual experience. Their warm welcome and willingness to share the teachings of Jainism deepened my understanding of the faith and its profound philosophy. In conclusion, Shri Sammed Shikharji is more than just a pilgrimage destination; it is a sacred journey that elevates the soul and connects one with the divine. The experience of ascending the holy mountain, surrounded by nature's majesty, leaves a lasting impact on the heart and mind. Whether you are a devout Jain or a seeker of spiritual solace, Shri Sammed Shikharji offers an unforgettable experience that transcends the physical realm and touches the depths of the soul.

Hello all.. here is my review on various aspects - 1.I travelled from Kolkata and it took me nearly 7hrs with a comfortable drive. The road is pretty good and as you enter Jharkhand state, it's pretty scenic as the state is less populated and greenery all around.Across the travel, the road was fantastic 2. I was the oy tourist iny hotel. And the town of Madhuban/Shikarji is badly affected due to COVID lockdown. There are about 10K empaneled "Doli" walas and because of No Tourists these days, their financial condition is pretty bad and they are on the mercy of tourists for any extended tips for thier livelihood 3. The hiking is about 8 hrs for overweight (90kg) people like me and travel time will reduce by 2 hrs for fit people.Take another 3-4 hrs for descending and breaks etc.But One should be prepared for a non-stop 12-14 hrs of walk 4.The hill is pretty steep and one of the toughest I have trekked. I have been to Vaishnav Devi, Tiger Ness and this was most difficult one.It is almost 1/5th of mt.everst. From foothills till uphills there are cemented road being created, so it's not a slippery track 5.There are Dolis which one can opt for other than walking. This costs 3200 bucks for one person. During lockdown, a few bike option was also available but guess, it's very temp arrangement. We walked and didnt resort to comfortable ootions. We were 3 people but ideally suggestnfornsuch a trek 2-3 families togther is a good option. Unfortunatey, there were hardly any shops open and we were onlu tourists from outside. There were a few local people around too who had come to visit the pilgrimage. Pros : One can get good Jungle view,no problem in walking in Jungle even at 2am, fresh air, great view as you climb up, clean cemented pathway Cons : Since it's a steep hike, expect the trust to.put up good signages of how many KM left to each destination. It was a clear miss and I was really disappointed as was not knowing how much was left to climb up, when I felt to withdraw. There is no food facility at the top.Ideally, the trust should provide free/nominal charge food facility No place to rest at the hill top..After so many hrs of walking, there shoud be proper facility for rest/fooding Overall, it was a nice trip and we enjoyed. Note- In all of Madhuban town Vodafone doesnt work here, airtel had ocassional Connectivity, Jio works fine
