There is a time once when people from different states and countries used to come here to see varieties of "Species of Animals, Birds and Aquatic Species" but now the workers of park didn't care about the animals health and also for their infant. "Do you know every year the Tiger of this zoo giving birth maximum 3-4 cubs" but due to maintenance workers CARELESSNESS all kids were die. Yes for one reason you can visit it and also you will like it for sure, "It's became a LOVERS MEETING POINT now Yes! you heard right" where new or who are happy with their partner😅(you know what I mean) used to come. No maintenance from SAIL India has led this place to lose all it had. Very less animals. No lions 🦁 no tigers 🐯 no bear 🐻, no crocs, few birds, deer, monkeys, python and you are done. The aquarium also has been shut-down. The beer fences are broken. Few more also are down. An abominable lull all around. If you have been there before and will visit now, you will be heart broken. Yes, there are a lot of trees. But no maintenance has had its full toll on this old heaven.

Indeed a botenical park is a great pride of Bokaro Steel City. It is located in the heart of city near Jaggernath Temple, Sector #4. Here garden is filled with a number of flowers & fauna. This is the only place where I can't be bore by going again and again. More then 50 times I have been gone here. I had seen all the things to be changed. Earlier there was numbers of different types of animals but now only few kinds are left. At the entrance there is a board in which some instructions are written for us and also the uses of forest. There is a beautiful and long statue of our first Prime minister of India i.e; Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. And then there is two giraffes made up of grass. The garden is very beautiful. Number of roses are there but we are not allowed to go inside the garden. There is also a big toy train which runs inside the park only. There is also one room where a lots of kind of fishes are there and also tortoise. There is also swings for kids and other playing things. I love this place.

It's a good break and if u need some time with your family or friends and be in the midst of greenery, cool breeze, pure and fresh air...not much of animals or birds to watch for ...the zoo is not kept properly and SAIL management should either hand it over or invest little bit more to make it more attractive..it can also be a very good educational tour for botanical and zoology students .

One time visit place. There is not much to see. Very unhygienic park. Cages were damaged. This park needs maintenance. There were swings for children but most of them were broken. Like all the other parks Indian adults/couples have made this another lover's point. Animals you can see here are- 2 tigers, 1 hippo , 2 ajgar , 2 bear, couple of peacocks, 2 ostrich and a lot of deers. And some monkeys. Most of the animals are not well. # after roaming here you can visit jagannath temple, which is located opposite this park. I wish there were more animals but what can you expect from this poorly maintained park. There were hundreds of snake bills, be careful with your children. There is a paid parking area. In bokaro city... it's only place where people can enjoy picnic and good for couples too .Anyone can reach here easily. It's situated in large area... it's best place for kids...they can swing here and enjoy train journey too.

Clean neat..all green.tickets cost only rs 10 for adults and kids RS 5 As I m fan of green surrounding I liked it. Many animals were not there as expected. But it's good. Train in not so good conditions. Same goes with aquarium. But overall it's good to roam in good weather conditions. Can't take food items inside. But take water n cold drink. Don't forget to eat outside the zoo area. Lots of space for kids to play.

A decade ago things have been so different. This place used to be so green and lively with full of animals in the zoo. But now it's hardly maintained. No animals to display. There is no lion anymore in the zoo. It needs to be revamped.

This place is not the same as it was 8yrs ago. Health of animals are very bad now. It should be closed now and all animal needs to move to big zoo or sanctuary for their better health.

The place is horribly maintained and no reason to go there. I went there at least after a decade to only find lesser animals and more junkyard kind of feeling. The most stupid thing is that the entrance fee of 5 bucks can be paid only through cards, no cash at all. The aquarium section has another entry fee and there is nothing at all to see. Better they should close it down and shift the animals to Patna zoo.

This place is very old 🐘🐼🐯 zoo and i found there is less maintenance happening so if you think that you will see and tiger 🐯 or 🦒 giraffe than you are wrong. You cant bring the outside food 🍲. And there is no hotel available inside the park. Gardening is good but needed more maintenance and government should look into it and make this place as good as it was previously and make some food court inside the park too.

Most of the cages were empty or had only some birds in them. There was no sign of any lions, tigers, elephants, or other exotic animals that you would expect to see in a zoo. The birds were also not very interesting, mostly pigeons and crows. The only attraction that was somewhat enjoyable was the aquarium, which had some colorful fish and turtles. However, the water was murky and the glass was dirty, so it was hard to see them clearly. The zoo also lacked any facilities for visitors, such as restrooms, cafes, or souvenir shops. There was no shade or seating area to relax and enjoy the view. The staff was rude and unhelpful, and did not seem to care about the animals or the guests. The tickets were expensive and not worth the money. I would not recommend this zoo to anyone who wants to have a fun and educational day out with their family. It is a waste of time and resources. This place could be better if the people would complain about it.

Well I would say.. I have mixed feeling... A very strong nostalgia of yesteryears when the city was booming... And zoo was filled with animals... I would say it has shrunked significantly in terms of aquarium, lions, bears missing... However I would say it's chicken-egg.. More ppl go.. More it will become good. But certainly must go despite all reviews.. No way to skip if u visit bksc.. Major attraction is hypo,python,white tiger, leopards, toy train along with other animals n birds followed by some very humble eating joints.. . Nearby is Jagannath temple another good attraction. So just hang around for a while with children for 2/3 hrs visit n do give feed back to SAIL officials for improvement.. Enjoy!!

An old and a nice place to spend a few hours within its boundaries. Within quite some years, it has developed a lot. Even varieties of Lions, Tigers and Rhinos within. Grass lawns here and there to relax. Just take care that you don't throw around plastic waste and food litter here and there lest some caretakers around may say something. Even the Jharkhand State Tourism lists this as one of the sites in its domains.

Poor place very dirty. The animals are not in a good status. My partner got kicked by a Langur that escaped from the cage. The visitors should be protected. They should add more security and more cleaning staff. I have been greatly traumatized and I hope it never happens to another person.

Why am I rating it a 3★? So hear me out ,this place is okay okay to visit on weekends because most of the cages are empty and no idea where the animals went. Only rare animals you're going to see are bear ,hippo ,leopard , deers ,a single python and other birds and monkeys as well. There's a cage for bengal tiger but it wasn't there. No other major animals. Second ,the zoo is not maintained at all. So many damaged cages , unhygienic cages where animals are suffocated to live ,no cleanliness at all ,zero maintenance. The wall of the python cage is literally turned into a lover's point🤦🏻‍♂️. And other than that ,they don't accept cash payments too (only card or UPI). So , don't go with high expectations.
