Update: It's Friday night and we are here for the fish!! Our waitress Trina is awesome and she treats us like royalty! The food never disappoints and with people like Trina on the staff it just makes this our go to spot!! Thanks again Kevin and your staff here at AJs. UPDATE!!- FALL CREEK RD IS NOW OPEN FROM SHADELAND TO 79TH STREET. SEE YA AT AJs!!We were driving up Fall Creek road and found this jem. We were looking for good fish and chips and found it right here. From the perfect head of foam on the Guiness to the great service it was a very nice dining experience. The fish was just right and the fries are great too. Try the fried green beans! You'll be glad you did. ( update: Back again on friday night for the fish and chips. They are so good that I can't wait to try other items on the menu. ) Update!! Once again AJs doesn't disappoint. The food was excellent and the service (OMG) was impecable!! Our server (Louie) was on top of his game!! Cudos to AJs and all the staff!!! Once again AJs has proven to be the place to go!! We decided to go on a Thursday night because of plans on Friday and not only was the food excellant and the service just supreme but look who was in the crowd!! If it wasn't Brian Wilkes from fox 59 at a watch party for the basketball games! Thanks again AJs for the time of our night! ! Update : We took out of town guests here because we love the place so much and once again the food was superb HOWEVER this time the service was less than we have become accustomed to! Our waitress( I won't mention names) was less than attentive. It was 20 minutes between the app arriving and ordering food and instead of getting salads before our dinner it all came at once making for not a lot of room on a small table with 4 people. Maybe Amore' would have been a better choice!! Update: Back at AJs for another fish and chicken dinner. Everthing was perfect from the service ( our waitress Elsie was so great and proud of her new red hairdo too!) Even the owner ( KEVIN ) Came over to see if everything was ok and of course it was a perfect dining experience once again!! Thanks AJs for making our day here at geist!! Update: Another great Friday night at AJs! As always the food was great and the service was great. CUDOS to all at AJs!!

Okay so now I'm kicking myself for never coming here before now. It's definitely not just a bar but after the food I've had today I have to call it a restaurant. My experience here was so good that I can't ever call this bar food. I came for brunch on Saturday and had the eggs benedict and it was exceptional! Of course I had to stay and have some drinks and as I got closer to dinner time I decided to try the Philly cheesesteak sliders with fries. The sliders were really good but I have to admit the french fries were some of the best I have ever put in my dirty mouth. Wonderful atmosphere and the staff is second turn on definitely stop in and give this a shot. There's a meatloaf sandwich on the menu that's on my hit list next.

A simple apology would have been great. I didn't know the restaurant next door was owned by you guys until after. They apologized to us, but you're being very arrogant in you apology. You're taking away from the experience I told you I had. My friend literally said something to someone and clearly your waiters messed up. That's okay, but don't take away from what I previously wrote. It was an uncomfortable situation when we walked in. The excuses were not needed and you basically are saying regardless of how we feel you'll get service. That's great for you but I just wanted to try the place that I came all that way to try. I know we're human, but that was my experience last night. But you got it, and I appreciate that at least the other place made no excuses and gave the best service. So thank you for that much. You can't possibly tell me or my friend how we felt last night. Maybe this should be a phone conversation, instead of being so defensive. Simple I'm sorry, that's not the experience we want you to have and please come back and try us would have been great for me. The extras were not needed. Rude

I usually don’t leave reviews, however, after my recent experience, I thought I share.. Against our better judgement, my husband and I decided to go to AJ’s for dinner (first mistake). We sat at the bar, and after waiting 10 minutes or so, the bartender finally took our order. I ordered salad with chicken, the hubby ordered roast beef (second mistake). Upon receiving our order, the salad itself was quite good, too bad I can’t say the same for the chicken. Let’s say I would have had better luck at sinking my teeth in a semi tire versus the chicken. The waitress NEVER came to check on us. I tried to make eye contact as she walked past us to check on other patrons. After picking at our food. My husband asked the bartender for our bill. After she caucus with the customers, she finically came over so we can settle the check. I politely informed her that it would been nice for her to check on us and I provided feedback in the salad. Based on the poor service and tough chicken, I would recommend this place to my dog. Spend your money at places that make you feel invited.

We recently had dinner at AJ'S. We started off our dinner with the Grilled Cheeses Wedges. The Grilled Cheeses Wedges were good but could use a bit more cheese for it to have that true grilled cheese taste. The tomato bisque dipping sauce had an interestingly warm mouth feel to it. The Chef Paul Prudhomme's Cajun Meatloaf was the perfect comfort meal. The meatloaf had a good spicy flavor that was a great flavor balance for the meal. Meaty, comforting and very warm from the spices. The Fried Green Beans were extremely addictive. Perfectly cooked and crunchy, and tasted even better when dipped in the homemade ranch sauce. The mashed potatoes were creamy and a bit chunky, and tasted very good with the gravy. My son loved his Chicken & Cheese Tacos. Before we knew it he had finished all three. My wife liked the Pittsburgh Style Ribeye Steak, but found it to have far too much fat. A bit surprised that for the price that the additional fat on the outside of the steak wasn't trimmed enough prior to cooking it. My wife loved the flavors from the herbs and brown butter sauce. The Grilled Asparagus was surprisingly tender for the size, and had a good amount of spices and flavor. Also, the Garlic Mashed Potatoes were delicious. For dessert I enjoyed the warm, spiced flavorful Apple Crisp that was chock full of apples. I liked that it was more apples than the granola, and because of that a great balance between the two. The ice cream was a great way to cool off the hot apple crisp and add a level of creaminess to the dessert. My son and wife enjoyed Cheesecake for dessert. My wife enjoyed the Raspberry Cheesecake while my son enjoyed the Turtle Cheesecake. They loved the creamy and richness of the Cheesecake. We have ordered takeout, and eaten in the restaurant. Either way the food is delicious, and served by a very friendly staff. As much as we enjoy the lunch and dinner options from time to time we enjoy brunch here too. Worth the visit if you are in the area (or not).

After having been to AJs multiple times now, I wanted to update my review! Good spot! Their serving size is just perfect. The Cuban sliders and mustard is really good! They also have some great weekly specials. I had the kohlrabi bulgogi bowl (pictured) this past week. Husband likes this pizza! Staff is always attentive and friendly even on Thursdays which is trivia night.

Food is okay, I had a great server! Nice setting inside and outdoor has a decent amount of tables if you'd like to eat on the patio.

I LOVE their pizza ( but today- not so much). I go at least 4 times a month just for the pizza- lots of cheese- decent crust- all around a good pizza! Today was different. The " half pepperoni/ half mushroom" pizza I ordered made me want to go full-on teacher, and give the pizza maker a lesson in fractions with similar sizes. I mean... my kindergarten kiddos could do better! I opened it up before I left the restaurant ( because last time, they put pepperoni on ALL of it, 😧 and I was NOT happy, but was already home.) When I opened the box, I said, "so THIS is half and half? Looks like it slid off!" the waitress said, "is it ok?" I replied " not really" and she continued to tell me the bill cost to pay. Might have to skip a few weeks.....

It's about what you'd expect. I enjoyed the layout, but the waitress really only became social when she wanted us to exit. We were there under an hour and ordered a good amount of food (and tipped appropriately). Both adults had to wait quite a while on drinks (to the point where I was going to use the self-serve option). I'd return, but not my first choice.

Had a lunch and the food was fantastic. We didn’t have to wait long and the service was outstanding. There was such a good variety on the menu that I had a hard time deciding what to order. Will definitely be back to try the other options.

Love this place. Great ownership. Really good food and this is coming from a Chef. Love the Italian beef and the Tiramisu is some of the best I've ever had.

My wife and I enjoy eating here. Great service, the staff is awesome (Trina, Keith and Danielle)! We love the fried mushrooms, onion rings, the Italian sandwich and the Reuben. We haven't been through the entire menu yet, but we look forward to trying everything.

This was our first time dining here. My father in-law and I ordered the fish and chips, my hubby had tenders w/ fries and my mother-in-law had the tuna melt which had a bit too much mayo. Overall the food was really good, the portion sizes are more than enough. Good service.

I ordered the grilled tenderloin sandwich online for pick up. Having never been to this establishment I looked around to locate where to pick up take-out. I didn't see any sign so I went to the bar. The bartender was busy and I had to wait at least 10 minutes before I could get her attention to see where to pick up the food. She came from behind the bar and went ttowards the front of the bar and came back with my order. Once home, I was looking forward to having my meal and was sadly quite disappointed. There was absolutely no flavor whatsoever. The loin was pounded out very thin to just bun size (no overhang). It was accompanied by some kettle chips, which was actually the best part of the meal. I'd be embarrassed to have this on the menu as the bar owner and to charge $14 is a total rip off.

We’ve been coming here for a few years and every single time the food is awesome! Very happy for this to be so close to home.

Great service, all of the food is really good. It is a very comfortable place to spend some time watching a game or talking to folks as well....

I meet a friend at AJs a couple of times a month. The food is good, not great. Sometime I feel really welcomed other times not so much. The handheld POS tech has made ordering food and paying a lot easier.

Probably one of the best experiences I’ve had since I am in indy and honestly Lui made me feel at home, and he was very understanding, especially since it was my first time here and I had many questions 😂 I had the full rack, (which I couldn’t finish on my own), Irish coffee and a tequila sunrise that he recommended… people like him are a great reason to drive 40 mins… thank you Luii

We are fortunate on the northeast side to have a plethora of great restaurants and watering holes to choose from. Aj’s is among our favorites as it delivers solidly good food accompanied by friendly, efficient service. The owners are often on site, are very approachable and consistently check in with customers.

Great place to go and relax, and have some very good food. The staff is very friendly and they make you feel welcomed. Nice selection of draft beers and spirits. AJ'S Bar & Grill is on my list of go to places. Keep it up. Don S.

This place has a nice menu with a wide variety. I had Memphis dry rub ribs with a loaded potato and collard greens. It was pretty perfect. We go kayaking in the area and will definitely stop by multiple times this summer
