Undoubtedly the best Pad Thai. This beats all the others. A note of caution - since November 2021 they open for TAKE AWAY ONLY between 10am and 5pm. Get there early, we arrived not knowing this at 4:10pm and the queue was already forming. Excellent attentive and helpful staff tend to every need. The food is stunning and the orange juice is probably the best I’ve ever tasted. It’s gently squeezed thereby retaining a considerable amount of the orange flesh within the juice. Make sure you have your Thai Baht ready as this restaurant is cash only. An absolute must go to place when in Bangkok. Highly recommended.

The first and best Pad Thai in the world! This Michelin star restaurant has everything a good restaurant should have: history, great food, wonderful service and long waits! On a Thursday at 22:00, I waited about 30 minutes before being seated. Once inside, I ordered the vegetarian Pad Thai and famed Orange Juice (lots of juicy pulp!) and treated the Pad Thai to a wash in Thai chili and vinegar. Delicious! The noodles weren't gummy, but had a nice texture and were elastic. They are a pale color compared to more 'saucy' Pad Thaiz and the dish as a whole is rather sweet. The tofu was very fresh and nicely compressed; had an almost cheese like flavor. I would have loved to have the Pad Thai wrapped in an egg casing (Super Pad Thai) but this cannot be done on vegetarian Pad Thais, unfortunately. Lovely interior with many awards scattered throughout the walls. Professional and meaningful service Cash only! What a wonderful place to eat and say you have had the world's first and best Pad Thai 🇹🇭

I like how the Pad Thai taste like especially since it is being wrapped in an omelette. I also love the coconut smoothie. The ice cream is also a treat to my tongue. The staffs are really nice and can understand and speak English. I love the interior. What I don’t like is that they only accept payment in cash. The other thing is the dine in is only open after 5pm, you can however order for takeaway before 5pm. Something to keep in mind.

I come here every time I'm in Bangkok. Worth the wait every single time. Absolutely delicious, by far the best pad Thai and even king prawns I've ever had the chance to taste. You HAVE TO get their house made orange juice too, it'll change your life!

Swung by Thipsamai, a place that's pretty much a legend for Pad Thai in Bangkok. Got there around 5:30pm and only had to wait about 10 minutes, which was a stroke of luck because the line was huge by the time I left. Pro tip: hit it up just before or after the usual meal times to dodge the crowds. I went for the superb Pad Thai, and it was something else – wrapped in an omelet, of all things. They even give you a little guide on how to enjoy it to the fullest, and let me tell you, with all the seasonings mixed in, it was a flavor bomb. Debated between ice coconut and orange juice, ended up with the coconut, and it was the perfect call for the Bangkok heat. What really took me by surprise was the service. Even with the place buzzing, the staff were super friendly and made sure you were looked after. Plus, their English was some of the best I've encountered around here. Definitely keen to come back and try more from their menu. Can't wait for the next visit!

Definitely an excellent pad Thai, as all the recipes and articles suggest. When looking for the best pad Thai in Bangkok, this place continually tops the list. It’s delicious and “saucier” any other version I’ve had, so the taste is just genuinely different. Side of crushed peanuts and condiments to go with your dish is provided. Portions are not to big but for me it's a good size. And the hype about the orange juice is real, as it’s really good. I enjoyed the food and experience here. Will definitely be back.

The crab plate appetizer was amazing. So good and the seafood sauce is some of the best I’ve ever had. It tastes better than the average seafood sauce in Thailand. The pad thai is really good, as well. The orange juice is also surprisingly good.

To avoid long waits, I arrived early at 8:54 am on a Sunday. By the time they opened at 9:00 am, a few people were already in line. I ordered Pad Thai with shrimp oil, prawns wrapped with egg, shrimp spring rolls, and Thai iced tea. The standout was the spring rolls—freshly made, crispy outside, and soft and juicy inside, with no unpleasant shrimp odors. The Thai iced tea maintained its usual sweet and pleasant taste. The Pad Thai, while good, leaned towards the sophisticated end without reaching greatness. The staff was attentive, making it an overall pleasant experience. Cash only.

Great Pad Thai with shrimps (nr. 5), but not the best one I have had, since it lacked a bit of taste. Price was 150 baht, which is not that expensive. The juice was good but a bit pricey. Their prices on the juice varies from day to day because it follows market prices. Place is very cozy, but I wouldn’t say it’s worth waiting 20 minutes in line for a table.

I am not going to claim to be an expert on pad Thai and generally do not order it very often. However, I will say that this was by far the best pad Thai I have ever experienced. By a lot! Cool little spot. It was not crowded at all but covid is alive and well in Thailand so not very many travelers out and about. During my meal a television was on and telling the history behind the dish and how thipsamai came to be the best in Thailand 🇹🇭

Visited this restaurant based on recommendation from our friends who travelled before to Bangkok. Must try is Vegetable or Sea Food Pad Thai, which is recommended/ signature dish of this place. They serve few other variants Pod Thai dishes too. Try Icy Coconut juice and Orange juice too. Service is good. Place is maintained clean and hygienic. Keep in mind - They accept only CASH, in Thai Bahts. No cards or other currencies are accepted.

Great spot for pad Thai made a few different ways but we liked the vegetarian pad Thai the best. Came here around dinner and there was not much of a wait which was a relief. Food came out fast and portions are generous. Service is very good and there’s a small grocery section for you to purchase their sauces and kits as well. Definitely catering to tourists but we enjoyed the meal.

It is very delicious every menu. I ate three kinds of Pad Thai. I will remember this taste(sweet, scent) forever. When I go to Bangkok, I'm going to this place again. Thank you for giving me good memories.

We were greeted and got a table right away. Food tasted like normal pad thai but I really like how it's wrapped in egg. The orange juice is a must try. Chunks of oranges in the drink. Very tasty and fresh. Side of crushed peanuts and condiments to go with your dish is provided. Portions are not to big but for me it's a good size. I enjoyed the food and experience here. Will definitely be back.

No. No. No. No. No. “Overpriced tourist trap rubbish” is the only way to describe this restaurant. The first red flag is the hoards of clueless tourists clambering out of vans being led by a tour guide into the restaurant. In a city and country famous for rich culinary traditions, Thipsamai shouldn’t even be on your radar. The Pad Thai sold here is actually worse than what you could even get from that vaguely Thai/pan-Asian restaurant in your hometown in the Middle-of-Nowhere, Europe or the US. Pad Thai, when done well, should be smoky, slightly charred around the edges, both savory and mildly sweet. Thipsamai is none of this. It’s a gummy, sickeningly sweet dish with zero texture and depth. The two pieces of prawn they give you a joke. And the reviews here about the orange juice being so good? Ask yourself: are you really going to a pad Thai restaurant to drink the orange juice? If you are fortunate enough to visit Bangkok, do yourself a favor: explore the rich cultural and culinary landscape by taking risks, stepping outside of your comfort zone, and staying far, far away from tourist traps like this one. Your conscience will reward you.

Probably the best pad thai I’ve tried in Bangkok! It was insanely good, I could probably eat 2 servings in one sitting. Their Thai Milk tea was also really good. The restaurant had a high ceiling, it was cool and not noisy when we ate there. Highly recommended!

The pad thai were okay, taste good but the portion is way too small. Putting a fried omelette on top of the noodles is a nice trick, but only makes the 2 shrimps come with it look even more out of place. The condiments are not enough and lacking some essentials like banana blossom. The star of our meal is their orange juice. The sweetness and freshness of the juice is wonderful. The restaurant is clean and service is great.

Came here on a trip to Bangkok and totally enjoyed it! We only queued for 5 mins and got recommended the superb pad Thai which was absolutely delicious. There are waiting staff offering ground peanuts as well as other garnishes on the table. Make sure you try the icy coconut drink, I’ve never tried anything like it! The service was great and the whole place was very clean.

The best Phad Thai in the world! The long queue outside is a testament on how popular this place is. It’s a Michelin Star restaurant so the taste is guaranteed to be good. The service is excellent. Everyone is well trained in Customer Service and can speak English so it’s convenient when you ask for suggestions about the menu. The Spring Roll was just perfect! Even without the sauce you will love it! Pad Thai with prawns 🍤 mango 🥭 and crab 🦀 meat was just heavenly! The price is also very reasonable! They their Orange Juice as well.

This is one of the Michelin Star shop in Bangkok, accessible via a taxi. The dish that makes it to the stardom is quite nice but I would highly recommend the normal Pad Thai. They do offer take out and also ingredients for your own cooking. They have an local orange juice that tasted more like mandarin orange juice. A bit too sweet for my liking, added water to dilute it. The typical waiting time is around 30mins to an hour.

A place where you have try for Pad Thai when you visit Bangkok. It normally need to queue but it won't take too looooong for your turn (around 30 minutes wait). Food taste was okay but for me it consider a bit on the sweet side. Must try the orange juice where it is very fresh, but the price won't show the menu, you need check with the waiter for pricing. Overall was a good experience.

Firstly, do not be put off by the long queue outside of this restaurant - it goes very quickly! Had the Superb Padthai for 150 bahts which was a nice one, but rather on the small side (you do get 2 decently-sized prawns) and I personally found the shrimp oil slightly too overpowering. My partner had their crab and mango Padthai version and enjoyed it too. Special mention for the OJ which is outstanding and the very efficient + friendly service

Tried out Thipsamai of course for their Original & Superb Pad Thai. For the original pad thai, opted for the one covered in omelette. As for the Superb Pad Thai, it has the option for glass noodle and served with crab meat, prawn & mangoes. Why it stood out is because they use prawn oil in their dishes. That luscious red coloured oil, brings out the flavour of the dish more. And the taste is just balanced. For drinks, get the fresh orange juice since it’s so refreshing.

There is a lot of hype for this restaurant, since it is Michelin. There is typically a queue outside. For me, this is the best Pad Thai I tried during my travels in Thailand. The omelette and spring rolls were also good. The thai tea was sweet and the ice did not seems to melt- which is a good thing! The orange juice was fresh. I liked the idea of the price of the orange juice changing depending on the season/price of oranges.

Amazing restaurant. This is on TasteAtlas's top 100 restaurants list at #48 for their pad Thai, and it is well worth the hype. The pad Thai is absolutely incredible, as is the orange juice. Do yourself a favour and get the large bottle of orange juice. It's fresh and deliciously sweet with chunks of orange still in the juice. I got the chicken pad Thai, not the pad Thai wrapped in the egg that is the signature dish, but really, everything couldn't have been better. The service was prompt, polite, and helpful, the food was top-notch, and the ambience is homey. I was lucky and didn't have to wait for a table, as I went around 11:30am, but I have heard it can get quite busy. Get there before the line does and enjoy some of the best pad Thai I may have ever eaten!

I mean, yeah, it’s some of the best pad Thai around. Thipsamai is known for its pad Thai, and for good reason. You can customize your dish to your liking, and pick up some pad Thai souvenirs on your way out. Worth it in my opinion, but perhaps not if it’s a long long wait

Great atmosphere and service here. I had the Pad Thai of course and found it a bit too sweet. I've definitely had better over the years. The spring rolls were good. However they come with just one dipping sauce which I also found too sweet.

First we looked at the menu and ordered before sitting down on our table. After choosing what we wanted we were eat straight away. We were lucky it was busy as we ate our food, tables were clean and someone sat almost immediately, busy place indeed. The food was brilliant to say. Very delicious all throughout and I added one peanuts on the side then mixed it up after. And the service was excellent. My party had different people from all different countries and our server greeted us with our own languages. Which was such a surprise and I loved it. If you are in Bangkok you got to try this place out.

One the of the famous pad Thai restaurant in town but the taste is towards sweet side . The service by the staff is amazing. The atmosphere in the restaurant is good feel like a proper diner of pad Thai . It's not cheap it's quiet expensive for a street food pad Thai the serving is less compared to the price .

Great place to have Pad Thai! The popular order is to try the one wrapped in egg. Very fragrant and you can also add more lime juice to taste as well. Coconut shaved ice is also great to complement the meal. Interesting interior and fast service as well; would visit again if I ever return to Bangkok!

The Pad Thai is famous and tasty. I was expecting for better. I did not like the rapid atmosphere in the restaurant. The que in long so they harry up everything. You can not sit and enjoy your time. Just eat and go because others are waiting. Since November 2021 they open 10:00-17:00 only for take away and from 17:00-00:00 you can sit down

No doubt it is good - and they are the most famous in Thailand. But there is better ! The shrimp taste like cardboard. The pad Thai not interesting without adding condiments. The Orange juice wonderful - a must have … the AC was blasting in the back room. There were mostly local people and just a very few foreigners … honestly, better to go next door for pad Thai (better and cheaper) or just up the block to Jai Fai - a legend with the Michelin macaroon

Delicious well-known Padthai in a well-known restaurant. All menus are related to Padthai and you can choose the size of the prawn. A bit on a pricier side and can be crowded so waiting 15-30 minutes in line are anticipated during peak hours. Freshly made orange juice are also not to miss! Service is above average. Nearby parking space available for 30 baht per hour or parallel parking in the small street.

This place is know for it's pad thai. Hence I went there specifically for that. From the outside it looked like a regular food place. However, inside is spacious, clean, and has good ambience. By the entrance you'll see the open kitchen where the food is prepared. In the eating area, they have a tv that shows how pad thai is made. The pad thai was surprisingly not spicy. It had great blend of flavors.

I’ve eaten pad thai in many places in Thailand, but that was very good! The smiling face and hospitality of the staff make people feel happy. As it is a very popular restaurant, you may have to line up and wait a while at the door. But don't worry, it's your turn quickly. And a place worth what you expect. You order the foods before you seat and the service comes quickly. Everything was very nice! We came last year and they gave us a sticker, we had another gift this year too! Thank you very much, we love this place👍🏻

We went to the main outlet. On a Saturday night around 8pm. There was a Queue when we came. But it moved very fast. You ordered at the door. They find a seat for you and you get seated within 15 mins. Many locals and tourist. Phad Thai was red in colour. A little towards the sweet side. But great flavour!!! Spring roll was great too

Famous pad thai restaurant that has multiple locations. The signature pad thai was tasty but a little sweet for my liking. Most of the pad thai that I tried throughout BKK was fairly comparable at a fraction of the cost. The other items on the menu were really good though and the orange juice is a must try.

The wait can be quite long, but the pad Thai with chewy noodles is delicious. The fried spring rolls dish is a delightful combination of various ingredients in one plate, making it a flavorful experience.

Went there twice .. ordered both of their best seller: the regular shrimp Pad Thai and the one wrapped with egg. Both were delicious, totally live up to the hype. Tips: one alternative if you don’t want to wait in line is to ordered to go and eat at nearby cafe with live music and better drinks .. it’s about 50m from the rest right across the temple.

For those foreigners who want to try Padthai in Thailand, this is one of the most historical Padthai restaurants. Located in Bangkok's old city near Wat Poo Kao Thong, they've started selling Padthai here before WW II. I recommend this restaurant to you not only because of its taste, but also its architecture. Howeve, for the taste, it's slightly too sweet, too much sweet compared to other Padthai restaurants I have ever tried. Sincerely, I would recommend the owner create a new sauce which is not sweet. Lots of Thai people died because of diabetes and sweet foods are not in trend. I wish you could have a keto diet menu for those who don't like sweet, especially in seafood dishes, and for those who care about their health rather than solely delicious. Padthai is actually not a sweet-dominant dish. 5* for the architecture but 3* for Padthai without noodles (with noodles is an acceptable taste, but without noodles dish was really too sweet for me and my friend who came here together today. My friend normally loves more sweet than me. She always add more sugar in her main dish, but today she said it's also too much for her. Before making an order, I already told the waitress to prepare a less sweet dish for me. Still, it's too sweet for us. What uf we don't tell her???).

I waited for 10-15 min just to get into the restaurant. But evening after 18:00 it quite often people has to wait in Q . It's not that good . Overall food is prepared nice and clean test is good. In my opinion may be its little overpriced because of its popularity and location. Min 500 ThB for 2 people with decent item ordered.

The best Pad Thai we’ve ever tasted! It’s so good and the 🦐 are so fresh. Please come half an hour before its opening hour if you don’t want to queue for a long time. It is convinience to dine in but they don’t have many tables. We tried their ice cream too and it’s good as well. Definitely will come back to Thipsanmai again!

I had a chance to visit this place again during the pandemic since there was a short waiting line. I ordered padthai without noodle, the sauce tasted a bit sweet. Portion is enough to survive for a meal but no full. If you are hungry, maybe worth to order two dishes at once. I reduced one star since I find the restaurant is too hype and a bit overpriced, it is a very popular place for tourists. Also purchased sources to do homecook padthai. It‘s practical if you can find noodle and other ingredients.

Bring the hand fan. Calm for the long queue line. They do try their best to serve you with their manic popularity. Compare with Pad Thai I had tried so far, they still not the best for me (I just happened to love the recipe that have pork fat deep fried, aka, Gaagmoo กากหมู) however, every dishes come out from this kitchen surely are the best of them! Do not too crazy with their shrimp and ask for the most expensive one (Seafood always better in seaside town), try their regular one with the orange juice is the best choice for this place, and have double order for the big stomach people. Staffs here are all super polite, ไหว้สวยทกคนค่ะ ❤️

Compared to last year, the store is very clean. However, as a traveler who liked the old taste, I also miss the old atmosphere. The price seems to have gone up compared to before. There is also tax. Was it originally attached..? Although the quantity is small and the price has risen, Still delicious!

The best Phad Thai in Bangkok. I always come back everything I visit bangkok. Staff always make you feel you’re a VIP, they even wear suit and tie. Food is always good. I wish they have more variation for the drink. It’s also very well priced, around 200 baths for normal dishes. A little fast pace, and it’s always busy.

Thipsamai, is an alternate places if you fed up by jay fai queue. Thats whats happend to me, I came at 2pm (deifnetly not lunch hour) No queue at all, the waitress are friendly, they cant speak english but can understand english very well. For food, that was my first and only one experience eating pad thai. So I have no comparation But I am having delight time. Its yummy and worth the prices too Cute interior & cute uniform They give free stickers after I pay (very nice gesture I suppose, add new color to my valise) Definetly will be back again sometimes.

The most surprise to me is not the pad Thai, it’s their orange juice. So fresh and good taste. And their waitstaff service is very polite. Pad Thai taste is not too sweet and not too sour, good.

This place deserves good ratings. Padthai was very tasty, with an interesting presentation. The thinnest omelette contained well-cooked noodles and everything that was supposed to go with it. There are a lot of people, but the queue moves quickly thanks to the good work of the staff. Being in line, you can choose everything that you will order, indicating in the form.

One of the best food restaurants I've ever been in Thailand. Sometimes there are a few small problems but I appreciate the manager's handling of the situation. In my opinion, they know very well how to take care of customers, maybe that's why they are always crowded, even though today when I come there , it's quite late (around 10pm) but there are still a lot of customers waiting in line to enjoy. I will definitely recommend many of my friends here. Once again sincerely thank you!

Famous spot known for the best Pad Thai in Bangkok; recommended by my hotel and numerous travel blogs. Pad thai was delicious; I can’t definitively say it’s the best in the city, definitely the best I’ve had in Bangkok and possibly ever. Prices a tad high for Bangkok but it’s great Pad Thai in a pretty nice setting. Service prompt and friendly. Also, I recommend getting the orange juice with it.

Absolutely exceptional! We patronised around 530pm, having to wait 10 minutes then we were quickly served by the friendliest waiter ever! We had pad thai song-kreung, stir fried noodle with crabmeat, prawn and squids & the mixed spring rolls. We enjoyed every single bite & of course not to forget the orange juice full of pulps, one big bottle gives 2 full glasses, easily shared. A very pleasant dinner!!

I had the pleasure of dining at Thipsamai's original Maha Chai Road location, and it was well worth the wait. The line may have been a bit long, but what awaited inside was a culinary gem. Upon entering, it felt as though we had stepped into a small, bustling marketplace. The vibrant atmosphere was alive with signs everywhere and TVs, but my attention quickly gravitated toward the open kitchen where skilled cooks were diligently preparing orders from scratch. We couldn't resist trying their famous Superb Pad Thai, and it exceeded all expectations. This signature dish was an absolute delight, prepared and then wrapped in a thin layer of egg that added the perfect finishing touch. We also sampled their Vegetarian Pad Thai, which was equally impressive. In recognition of their outstanding Flavor and remarkable Value, we are pleased to award Thipsamai with 2 Cedillas. Their dedication to crafting exceptional Pad Thai dishes shines through in every bite. If you're in search of a memorable Thai culinary experience, Thipsamai is a must-visit destination. (ÇÇ)

Been here in 2017 and now in 2023 again. A lot has changed but it's still the same pad Thai at a very good price! I definitely recommend coming here! The staff is very professional, they speak plenty of languages and are very polite. The only negative thing: since this place has become so famous, they kind of rush you through, so it's not a place where you linger for longer. But the advantage is that we got a table pretty fast and the food also came very fast

👍👍 We waited for 3hrs after arriving at 9:30am, and finally eat our food at 12:30. I suggest to arrive before the shop opens, maybe around 8-8:30am. The omelette is not too flavorsome, just full of crab. The fried fried rice noodle is shockingly good, the texture of the noodle itself is super stretchy,...

👍👍 Great local restaurant. The fluffy egg omelette, stir fried crab curry and the stir fried cowslip is very nice! Extra point goes to the fluffy egg omelette of course. 🍳

👍 Best view during the sunset time as you get to see both day and night views! The dishes were fresh and clean. However, the taste is average. The staffs are very nice and we didn’t have to wait long for the food to come.
