unfortunately this is the first place where the poor recent reviews have had to be taken into account. Let's start from the beginning - wrong location on the map. the restaurant is listed opposite the church cathedral, but this is not true. we arrived at the alley and were looking for somewhere to go. the restaurant itself has 2 rows of tables, the first one is luckier - a view of the river, the second ones should apparently enjoy the backs of the first ones. not thought out. if the tables are all booked, seating is close and a bit noisy. The food is absolutely ordinary, some were simply tasty, some were tasteless. Steak with burnt sauce “like a chip” is a very strange decision. it was just terrible, we were sitting in a group and everyone didn’t like it. The sauce for the tasteless fish was simply salty, fish just with beans. The staff also didn’t ask at the end of the evening if we liked the dinner, and we wanted to leave quickly. I don’t know if it’s possible to indicate other restaurant names here. but there are much better 2 Michelin stars with French cuisine in Bangkok. This restaurant is not worth going to. the price of the set was 10,000 baht. + 1500 bath glass of alcohol. + offer millimeter pieces of cheese for 900 baht. and food additives. in our case it was grated truffle for 2000 baht for three person. The staff were not warned that this was not included in the set and have price. Having ordered all this, we still weren’t full, the waiters joked about extra portions 🫠👍🏼 liked the live music.

Every Bangkok journey of mine wouldn’t be complete without paying a visit at Lè Normandie. Ever since my friend brought me here for lunch once there was no turning back. Service was on the top. Food is excellent, top notch ! Price is reasonable. The last time of my visit I brought my friend here to celebrate his birthday, he said it was one of the best meal of his entire life. Can’t wait to come back again!

Very formal and uptight nice French restaurant. From service to food to wine selections, no disappointment but no surprises either. Price is on the high side among 2 star restaurants in BKK, we spent about 15k b per person all in. I guess that explains why this restaurant is easier to book. Service is attentive but somehow all waiters seem nervous for some reason. Good option for a formal date, a place you would wear your suit or even tuxedo to. Great view during sunset.

Disappointing experience. We haven't returned since the change in chef and management. The menu was lackluster, and many dishes were either overly salty or bland; far from what one would expect from a 2 Michelin Stars restaurant. We suggested the chef's menu, as the 4-course lunch fell short. The caviar was served with a metal spoon, an unusual choice for a restaurant that prides itself on fine cuisines. The star dish, lobster, was delicious but overly salty. Another entree, a veloute with small cubes of chicken was lacking in flavour. The Miyazaki beef was overshadowed by an overwhelmingly salty gravy. Upon seating, they assumed we don't eat beef and recommended non-beef options, which was an unwarranted assumption. The staff seemed more attentive to those ordering extras, and there was a noticeable disappointment and judgmental look when I declined the extra cheese course due to dietary requirements.

Outstanding service and atmosphere. Ordered 7 course menu. Everything is delicious except main course is below my expectation unfortunately.

We were invited to have a birthday launch here. With a 6 dishes charged 6000 per person. All dishes look like sweet or candy style, but actually the material are made of meat. It’s awesome, 5 glasses of different wine make you drunk. It’s a 2 star Michelin, they have enough manpower to give nice service.

Service: 5/5 Service staff are very attentive and friendly. They are patient when explaining their dishes. Thumbs up to every member of the staff working there. Food: 5/5 The wagyu beef was cooked to perfection and I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. Dessert was wonderful and pretty! Ambience: 5/5 Very beautiful setup with a great view of the river. It is a good place if you are celebrating birthdays, dates and some special occasion. Quiet and comfortable. Price: 5/5 It is a 2-star Michelin restaurant with great food and service. Be prepared to pay but it is worth every penny. 💯 Final Verdict: I will go back again. enough said. Go for it.

Flawless service by every staff member, the manager/sommelier (M. Antoine?) was wonderful, kept dropping by and kept us entertained with his knowledge of the dishes throughout the evening. This being the first time trying the new Gastronomique menu, I quite like the Halibut, Lobster and the stuffed courgette flower. A little regret was, we were only allowed one brioche each with no spares and no fancy butters like before.

This is where Bangkok’s 1% dine. Located along the banks of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Le Normandie is an exquisite two Michelin star ⭐️ ⭐️ French restaurant with absolutely no flaws. If you do dine here, do not rush and do not expect a cheap experience. You pay for that. Cost shouldn’t be an option, so make it a very special occasion. We loved every minute of it and every bite—including the caviar! What a memory!

One of the best dining experience in my life. Far exceeds my expectations. Great service, food and well structured and versatile menu. I spent a great anniversary with my wife in Le Normandie today and my wife and I both agreed this is so far the best dining experience in our life. The dishes here are amazing and have so much fresh sea food and insane amount of truffles. Seabass is the best, the creamy sauce combined with truffle create extraordinary taste. Thanks to the restaurant staff , restaurant manager, Sonaya and Anon giving us great information of wine and dishes itself so we have lot better idea of what we are having in our mouth. Needless to say, just come, eat and enjoy.

We had a lovely lunch here. The service was great. Super polite. Love the food except the main dish. Forgot what it’s called, but it was the pork. Wine pairing was very nice. Amazing view. Would go back for dinner next time.

We had a fabulous lunch at the restaurant - exquisite food and excellent service/hospitality by Frederico and team! The atmosphere and view are also beautiful. Overall a great experience, the wagyu filet with morels was our favorite dish.

We managed to make a reservation at two Michelin stars @lenormandie.byalainroux for lunch! In addition to the set, we had a bread basket, which consisted of bacon bread and sourdough, as well we surprise canapés, amuse bouche and petit fours. A wonderful place to celebrate an old friend's 80th. The lobster was outstanding, but many other dishes were bland. Fortunately, the occasion made the evening.

We went in during lunch and had the À la cart menu. Right from the bread and appetiser, we knew we were in for a real Michelin 2 star experience. The best lobster I’ve tasted. (The flavour is complex, the texture is very well structured) The waygu beef was super yummy as well. The view and the environment is gorgeous with a hint of nostalgic feeling given the heritage of the hotel, and staffs are very professional. I would definitely come back again just for other dishes. 2 stars well earned . Great job ❤️

Totally recommend that place. We have got excellent time. The food was very tasty and also the wines were really good. Stuff was super friendly and professional. The view on the river is really nice, so if you book a table, then ask for the table with a river view. I went there to celebrate an anniversary and at the end we got from the restaurant a cake as a gift, which was really nice surprise! I will definitely come back again. I ordered set of 4 dishes and it was more then enough. Food is very fulfilling.

POOR SERVICE, POOR ATTITUDE, NO VEG OPTIONS, OVER BILLING We are writing about the terrible experience we had at the Normandie Restaurant today. a) On arrival the staff appeared not to find the reservation and made us sit on a small sofa for some time. Then we were led to our table. We had made reservations via the hotel concierge and also clearly mentioned we were vegetarian. b) When we saw the menu it was different from the one on the web site. There were only two vegetarian options - one starter and one main course. Both sounded very sad and the staff did not care when we said that these were no options at all - and we would have nothing to eat. They did not care at all - it appeared they were hoping we would leave. c) As we were already there, and the hotel had no other options - except the Veranda - we decided to order a cheese platter. d) Our drinks arrived but even after 15 mins no bread basket was offered. We had to ask and even then, it arrived after a few minutes. The staff did not have any concern that their guests were reduced to having a drink, bread and cheese. No effort was made to offer food options or prepare something for us. This always happens at classy places. e) The cheese platter was served with poor grace - even at this stage the cheese platter could have been served with crackers, some grapes or other fruit just to makeup for not being able to serve food. f) The service was indifferent and really poor throughout. g) When the bill was presented they tried to charge two people for three cheese platters. (We had ordered only one !) This was adding insult to injury. We got some lame excuse from the manager about being only 6 cheeses per platter. While I did not count, we certainly did not have 18 different cheeses. In any case, this should have been mentioned at the start of the service. When I pointed out the poor experience the manger said they would not charge. The manager leads by poor example - if the gentlemen was indeed the manager. His attitude was among the worse. The most upsetting thing was the attitude of the team at the Normandie.

What a wonderful night! We had visitors from the US and had the full tasting menu with cheese and wine pairings, it was so worth it! The amuse bouche was to die for and wine was free flowing all night. Some reviews say the food is boring, I say it's a classic!

First i want to say sth good about this place. People there were kind and caring. Atmosphere is superb with full river view. The problem is the food..someone may say classic, i would say boring. Other than wagyu steak with amazing raddish and ravioli, all dishes were okay or below okay. No wow factor, most expected lobster tastes burned..sauce was full of spice and flavour but i think more salt is needed. Overall it was an okay experience but i would not go back there.

I was very happy with this place. They deserved to get 2 stars for sure. Mr.Frederico Manager has so much knowledge, handsome, polite and high class service. We came for my friend’s birthday. They prepared cake and rose bouquet that I never saw from other restaurant. The view is fantastic with long river. All staff were great service and get professional trained. Khun Oxegen take care us very well. The food was perfect cooked , excellent tasty food and so nice presentation. Definitely worth to go again and again.. Highly recommended for truly dining experience.

One of the best customer service for a restaurant i have ever tried. They lent me a blazer with shoes because the restaurant has a dress code. The tasting menu is great but not what I’m expecting for a 2 star Michelin though

Top notch 6 courses weekend brunch, especially when seated next to the window facing Chao Praya river. Service was immaculate, apart from obviously very good food and interesting wine pairing (locally produced wine was surprisingly good). Whole brunch lasted for about 3 hours, so I would recommend booking around noon to maximize whole experience.

Excellent service and what a beautiful dining room overlooking the majestic Chao Praya River. Our fifth visit to the restaurant. The food however does not quite live up to previous experiences.

Excellent meal here. They recently changed the chef (to Alain Roux) and the chef really does not disappoint, despite the fact that he was previously in the UK and would’ve had to recreate dishes to suit ingredients found in Thailand. Had the tasting menu, which was reasonably priced (considering the michelin stars under the chef’s belt). Le Normandie offers great homey food, (not pretentious at all - dont expect caviar/uni/lobster/truffle to be the main focus here), with fresh ingredients that are meticulously transformed in the kitchen. The menu is very good on the palate and is well-balanced so as to not overwhelm the palate with one texture. Creamy/heavier dishes are cut with some tanginess. Sweet is cut with savoury. Overall, would return if the opportunity comes up (or more money miraculously turns up in my pocket). :)

I had super great experience here. The food is spectacular. It's all new menu which is totally different from what it was before. My favorite dish in the course is Pan-Fried Foie Gras. The combinations of foie gras, veggies & sauces go along very well. Actually, I love all the dishes. 😋 Wine, cheese, desserts .. It's all awesome. The port that sommelier picked for us is soooo good. It is 20 years old Tawny Port from Portugal. I can have the whole bottle next time lol Service is the best! All staffs are nice & friendly. Chef came to the table to greet us. I can feel the warm welcome from the first step to the last step.

Had the weekday set menu with wine pairing. Food was wonderful, but that's beside the point. The highlights are the ambience and service. I don't think there's a better French rendition in Asia than Le Normandie. The traditional decor, few elegantly set tables, views of the river, soft music from the piano.
