Prices are standard, but the taste is merely average. This leaning towards a more tourist-friendly palette. For locals, the food falls into the "so-so" category—neither exceptional nor subpar. The service is commendable. Securing parking can be a tad challenging.

I was drawn to their food smell without knowing it's actually a Michelin restaurant while exploring Ari. Anw, ths is the first time I feel a Michelin restaurant serves food to my liking. Ordered the stir fried noodles and was pleasantly surprised! It's definitely an outta the world 11/10 rating for me. I went back for it the next day and even takeaway one back to Singapore same day. Would recommend their crab rice with secret sauce too. It's a rating 10/10 for me. I tasted lime in the rice which is interesting and refreshing. People who dislike sour food/tomyum in general may not appreciate it. Their creamy omelette and fried pork meat balls are very bad. I tried it so that you don't have to. It seems that their rice/noodles are better than the other dishes. I will still rate the place 5/5. Very impressed with the first 2 dishes.

I’m hesitated to write the review since I had mixed feeling about my experience. On the positive side the food was undeniably delicious. Their menu offered a variety of dishes, and I particularly appreciated the fact that they had several vegetarian options. However, I must say that the overall ambiance was marred by one significant issue. The seat I was assigned had a rather unpleasant stinky cushion. This was disappointing because it significantly affected my comfort and overall atmosphere of the dining area.

Me and my friend went on a feast at this much anticipated, and Michelin stars well-deserved restaurant on our trip in Thailand. It was absolutely amazing! The dishes was well cooked and presented with a beautiful Thai taste. We order 7 dishes in total for 2 and it was definitely too much food, however, we can’t resist to keep on eating. Highly recommended this spot for everyone. Just be cautious that there are two branches in Bangkok, so be careful when making a reservation.

This restaurant from the start makes a good impression. A relaxed atmosphere, cozy decoration and responsive staff. Lay Lao is well attended as recommended by the famous Michelin guide. It is a good place for lunch and taste northeast “Isan”cuisine as well as extra fresh seafood from Hua Hin and Petchaburi. There are two floors and the amenities are clean. First I ordered lemon and plants thai drink, not too sweet and very refreshing. Then as a starter a “Kung chae nampla” typical dish served with a beautiful presentation and an irreproachable freshness, it is Thai salad made with fresh raw prawns dipped in Thai fish sauce and served with chunks of squash, garlic cloves, chillies and a spicy sauce. Prawns were a decent size. Pad thai was melt in the mouth and beef was cooked “rare” as I requested. It is not the best beef in the world but the quality/price ratio is optimal. For dessert, banana fritters not too greasy and served with a delicate and fragrant honey. Price of the addition is quite reasonable. Other house’s specialties here are fried calamari with Lao Lao sauce, papaya salad or even pork BBQ. I purposely did not order to be able to come back, much more to taste…

We choose “recommend” and “must eat” dishes and they were really delicious!! Squids were bit salty so I recommend eat with rice or something plain dish. Fish was so lovey with diced lime and other colorful toppings.

This is a 3-storey restaurant but limited space. Nice environment and clean. Staff is friendly and can speak English. We ordered the famous grilled squid - fresh & yummy especially it’s ‘egg’. We like the deep fried fish very much - must try!! The vege with fried egg on top is a surprise to us, this dishes has ours’ 👍👍👍🏽 lastly, you may want to try pomelo salad which is very refreshing as a starter :)

Worst delivery by a restaurant. Absolutely NO utensils for eating your food ordered delivery to a hotel! I also thought that the food was extremely salty without any flavor. I think Michelin should no longer recognize this restaurant as a superior dining option since it is lacking in the delicious department. It’s food is not delicious in my option. I recommend picking up an instant meal from your nearest 7-Eleven rather than ordering a takeout from this restaurant.

This place has good reviews so we decided to give it a try and we are so happy we did! Place was clean, food was delicious and price is very convenient for the quantity and quality. Service is quite fast even if it’s crowded but that’s a good thing because it means that it’s a place that’s worth it. Recommend pad Thai with prawn (delicious and not too spicy) and the stir fried rice. We payed less than 700 baht in total for 2 people for 3 course and 2 drinks (less than 10 euro each)

Nice cozy authentic Thai restaurant hidden in a small street. Received Michelin award 2019 & 2023. Food is nice and price is reasonable. Ambient is nice, but expect too much service. Like the signature fried rice and fried fish. Recommend tongi e it a try 😊

Nice food, good service. Went twice in my recent trip, simple food but nicely executed. Their white rice is also very good, and nicely cook, fluffy n shiny. Recommend to try it

I am a little upset that I didn't know about this place sooner. I love Thai food and all three dishes that I ordered were amazing. I ordered a sour mango salad with large shrimps that were marinated in fermented fish sauce, pork neck, and a large fried fish. I requested extra fermented fish sauce on my sour mango salad because that's the way I like it and it was probably the best sour mango salad I ever had at a restaurant. The sour mango salad just tasted clean, fresh, and sour. Don't be afraid to order the fried fish because of the price. The fish was really meaty, juicy, and had the right amount of crisp. I loved how plenty of fried garlic was on top of the fish. The pork neck was extremely soft and good. You wont be disappointed. If there is one thing I want to change about the restaurant is that it would be better if I saw the staffs smile more. The service wasn't bad, but none of the staffs looked happy and didn't really smile.

Great food, exceptional service and staff. Come for the M-star but stay for the hospitality. Like many others before, you should try the deep-fried squid signature dish (sweet, spicy and crunchy). And thanks a lot for helping us getting back our lost item. ♪~(´ε` )

It is not easy to find a restaurant with delectable taste for all dishes. We found it at Lay Lao, a popular family-run restaurant fully seated on a normal afternoon. They were started out with the aim to serve good quality Isaan food they are serving to friends and family. While the entire Menu is a must try, we decided to pick and choose a few that is staring at us and make us drool 🤤 ❤️ Grilled squid with spicy sauce ❤️ Signature green papaya salad ❤️ Pomelo Salad with sun dried shrimp ❤️ Coconut milk ice-cream with deep fried banana ❤️ Butterfly pea juice and lemon The most impressive dish is the squid stuffed with squid egg giving it a soft inner texture and yet crispy and char on the outer body and tentacles. Ambience and staffs are extremely friendly too, will definitely return again if I go Bangkok❗️

One of the best Thai restaurant which I will definitely revisit. Food is nice with affordable price, highly recommended the fried pork with special lay lao sauce! The fried shrimp bee hoon is nicely flavoured too.

Great experience overall. Food was great. As promised in the name of the restaurant, interesting mix of traditional Isan dishes very well executed together with seafood dishes.

The food tastes authentic and the price is fair. The service is great and the decorations are nice. The restaurant is a little small and there is no specific parking space. Overall good food good vibes.

The squid is tender and the flavor is so good that you must try it. Plus, the fried crab roll is also fantastic and goes well with the sour sauce. Anyway, it’s the best Thai cuisine I’ve ever eaten so far.

Reviews are based on my experience on 15/11. Service from the staff was top notch, Attentiveness & cheerful at all times. Food was sooo incredible amazing! Even with the fish deep fried it was still soft! Fried squid was surprisingly melting in your mouth not even tough to chew. Beef soup was another level, tender and taste hits close to home. Som tum could've been alil more spicer to have more kick. We were crazy enough to return the 2nd time next day but sadly service (different crew) & food was lil off.

Another Michelin restaurant at Ari. The signature grilled cuttlefish is really good, go for the roe version! Prawns are super fresh, just need some fish sauce and green chili. Grilled pork neck is super soft and tasty. Fully deserved the awards, recommended to try while you are Ari cafe hopping! See-food diet certified! 👍

Very authentic and flavourful Thai food. Love their crab fried rice and tom yum. Can understand how they got their Michelin. Will definitely come back to try their other dishes!! Must try if you are in Bangkok.

Nice casual family dinner restaurant with homestyle thai food. Great pricing. We were seated promptly, food came out quickly, menu has plenty of pictures. Their calf massaman curry was particularly good with a wonderful soft texture. I understand they source beef from a local farm. The meal was fantastic overall with one miss. Fried pork meatball with salted egg was extremely dry.

Love their grill pork shoulder!! Must order! Seems to be quite famous among Koreans as we saw many of them during the visits here and K-pop songs were constantly playing. But there are good mixture of local patrons too.

This is not my first time at this place. It has been great as ususal. Foods were freshly made and served quickly. My favourite dish was Somtam with fresh crabs. The service was nice and prices were reasonable.

This lovely restaurant is a gem! Couldn't do any better with Thai cuisine. Their north eastern Thai dishes are my personal highlights, especially the Som Tam. Everything was freshly made and expertly flavoured. Friendly staff, nice neighbourhood not far from Ari BTS, and fair prices. Definitely love to visit again!

Was at the restaurant at about 8pm. A short wait for our table, service was prompt... food was great too. We even have a second order. We especially love the grilled squid, it is so good..😋

Great food. Deep fried sea bass was great, but not as crispy as one I've had in a seafood restaurant. Beef was tender. Durian ice cream was very nice and light too. Service however was lacklustre. Hardly any smile from the server. Some people had to wait very long for their food

Had dinner here because my friend and I saw the Michelin sticker. The food was delicious but it was nothing too special. I love the Tom Yum Kung, and the portion is perfect. The staff is friendly and helpful. We can pay by card and for a restaurant with a Michelin sticker (no star yet) it's quite cheap!

A well managed restaurant serving North Eastern Thai and Lao style food. There are both seats outdoor and indoor. The attendants are friendly and helpful. Food quality is good, while some of the dishes with ferment fish sauce (pla ra) are very salty. Besides, there are only around 20 seats with mobile tables on the ground floor.

This restaurant has become my most favorite Northeastern Thai food (E-Sarn) in Bangkok so far, every single dish tastes so good. You can order anything from the menu. Grilled pork shoulder is so so good, soft and tender. Deep fried oyster mushroom is surprisingly good, a bit curious when my friend wanted to order this, but can’t stop eating after the first bite.
